Is your game published? I can't play it yet... Edit: Ok I guess I checked the game page too early.

ladypossum 2019-10-07 23:01

i'm dumb and forgot to make it public

I liked the art a lot. The game was smooth but I couldn't find the other paths other than the guard and the boat

kushimoto 2019-10-08 00:12

Great art. This game has a lot of character. Well done and good luck on your future games!

ladypossum 2019-10-09 05:27

thank you so much everyone for playing and rating ;_; ily

@nithin spoilers:

pick up the flower on the edge of the cliff, then there is another path going down, you can talk to a cute girl and give her the flower to get a tiny quest. go to the left, get her some mushrooms (you can give them to the guard too) for the ending of the game

Love teh art style

Nice atmospheric game overall.

bryvox 2019-10-09 22:01

Cool game! I really like the vibe and the art style was very cool. Awesome work, especially since it sounds like this was your first game. I made it to the ending on my second attempt. Short and sweet :)

hyperscope 2019-10-09 22:59

I like the style but I'm not sure where to go as it only seemed to lead to my death. Intro was neat!

ben-ash 2019-10-10 01:16

Not sure if it's the game or my machine but it ran so slowly I couldn't even get out of the intro. :( however, some gorgeous artwork in there! Simply stunning.

roque 2019-10-10 01:33

Beautiful work! Very nice graphics and sounds.

ladypossum 2019-10-10 02:17

@bryvox haha yeah it was my first time doing anything programmy and i learned everything from scratch in those 3 days which is why its simple and buggy ;w; thank you for your kind words, and i really enjoyed your game

@hyperscope i posted instructions on how to get to the ending in a previous comment if you're interested in trying again!

@ben-ash it might be helpful if you posted your machine specs, maybe i can optimize the video player better? in the meantime you can skip the cutscenes entirely by clicking the triangle in the corner

@roque thank you so much for your kind words!

thank you for playing

Awww that was cute!! I like the visuals, the stylized characters and maps make the world very unique. The music was very peaceful, if not a bit plain. And you have a story!! A lot of game jam games would cut that, so nice job!

I wasn't too sure of the controls, I had to experiment a bit before I realized I could click stuff on screen. The items that you had to pick up blended in a little too smoothly with the background so it took a while for me to get them.

lucien-catonnet 2019-10-10 20:45

Huh for a first attempt at making a game it's a really good result! I especially like the graphics, you should put more images in the game description on the ldjam.com entry. I couldn't have finished the game without your instructions though, as it was already pointed out, interactable things should probably stick out more (whether it be with different artstyle or actual hover feedback). Congratulations on shipping your first game, do continue!

annie-owl 2019-10-10 21:42

That was short and lovely  Loved the art and the story. I wish the subtitles in the beginning cutscene were not going so quickly but besides that, this is a very polished entry.

ynneblack 2019-10-10 23:40

First of all, congratz on finishing your first game!! I actually used my previous LD (Deity Hook-up) as a way to learn to make games as well, so I know it's not easy trying to do it all at once and in such a short time, but I could never tell you had no previous experience! :0

I probably found all the ways to die as I did just that, 3 times now. :D First the ship, then the guard defending the lady, then the guard again, just because. Then I tried giving her the mashrooms. Loved the art for the ending, such a tender embrace! Speaking of which, you made so many pictures for it?? The intro is amazing, but so are the sprites and landscape. It'd be really short playing-wise, but with the intro it feels like a complete story. It would be nice to be able to return to the game even after that ending, I didn't find a way and had to close it & start it over, and I still wanted to try giving the guard stuff (they looked so happy about the mushroom!).

Oh, and there were some overlapping issues, like: scrn.jpg

Overall it was really lovely and the story was sweet. I hope that this experience inspires you to make more stuff!

webox 2019-10-11 01:49

That's some pretty cool art!! I died by talking to someone, that felt a bit unfair.. Cool game and love the mechanic of mixing pltaforming with making decissions. Great entry!

ladypossum 2019-10-11 22:12

@bdelehoy i considered that making "important" things orange would be enough but while playing it i definitely realized they didn't stand out enough. unfortunately at that point i had squandered my time on other things so it didn't end up getting fixed. i will definitely remember that and look into fixing it, so thank you for bringing it up!!

@lucien-catonnet i messed up the camera and i think if it had been zoomed out more and you could see more of the map it might have been easier to find your way around and see stuff, so i'll try fixing that. i'm glad you were able to at least play and finish it!! thank you for your time!

@annie-owl thank you so much! for some reason the video player ended up playing at a faster rate than it did in the engine and I didn't notice. thank you for mentioning it so i can look into fixing it!

@ynneblack thank you for playing through to all the endings!!! it was a wild experience for sure but i'm so glad i did it. i'll take a look at your games!!

yikes i actually looked at that and thought "gotta make sure boundaries are outside that overlay area" and then forgot. thank you for bringing it to my attention!!

@webox he was just doing his job ): hehe thank you for the nice comment!

thank you all for playing
