I think this is a really good game, I enjoyed it!
needs spooky messages while you walk!
I love the atmosphere
Dude Great game , and what coincidence my game has the same concept and same name , i really enjoyed your game <3
The ambient sound was eerily quiet and just noticeable! I loved the game, got my heart racing!
It would've been fun to be able to light other torches found in some rooms, to put a permanent light in some rooms here and there. The mood definitely is good, but playing the game it feels like at certain point it's just impossible to proceed in any meaningful way even though the character is still alive and can still walk around for quite a while.
Very creepy! Reminds me a lot of Amnesia: Dark Descent. Good work!
I liked the mood and the atmosphere of the game. I was lost in the labyrinth maybe a map would be helpful.
The ambience sound of this game is amazing. It really draws you in and hits you hard, when you fail. Great sound design. I love it. If you find time, please try our game. Feedback is really appreciated.
Great game, although it is a little too short and easy. There also seems to be a bug that lets you walk through tables that had a key on them. Other than that it's pretty good!
I almost have an heart attack when i died :fearful: . The ambiance is so unsettling.
Hillariously this game has almost the exact same concept as our entry, but in 2D and with candles rather than an oil lamp.
I really enjoyed the "eyes in the dark" appearing around you and actually appreciated the lack of a formal bar indicating the amount of light one had left, because this made everything much more intense. The one nitpick I have is that solving the game with the good old "keep your right hand to the wlal" algorithm is a bit easy. Maybe placing one of the keys in the center of the maze on a "pillar sectioN" could solve that.
dang, got the 3 keys but did not remember where the main room was so I thougth: "...F*ck", in the future it could be random generated and while the light weaks, the screen could start to distort. Awesome game
@radow Hey man, i will try your game for sure! I actually didn't think about the "keep your right hand to the wall" thing, but i will definently think about that for the next map. Glad you liked the game, i will go play yours!
i love it when games use light as a mechanic, and this was no excepction. you achieved a very unsettling atmosphere with very few elements only. I could feel the unease at narrow corridors and red eyes, audio, etc but nothing compared to when i died :o congrats!
spooooky! wow it was an intereting experience, audio is right on spot to create unsettling feeling, nice concept good execution good job
you did a really good job of creating an atmosphere. one thing i would say is that some of the sounds ended abruptly and had some chatter, maybe adding some reverb to the end and cutting the sounds off a little later would help. great game.
Eyes are a nice little touch which made the game very atmospheric for me, even though labyrinths are not really my cup of tea
I love the concept (unsurprisingly since we had a very similar idea :D) As the person on our team who did the SFX/Soundtrack stuff, I absolutely love the ambience your game creates. The audio really creates an amazingly unsettling experience, which is so important in a game like this. One other thing I love is that you have really simple, but tight mechanics, which work very well. Also, as someone who can't draw to save their life: I absolutely adore your pixel art. Congratulations on a job very well done.
Very fun and a little scary. Love the art. I wished their was a mini map, brighter light, or something to be more aware of your surroundings. Great job!
awesome! loved the way the monsters attack when your light fades! The art is nicely done, Maybe a little bit more content like a procedural level generator, then your game would be infinite! Overall really nice work! I also used light in this jam, would love if you could give it a look :)
Awesome experience! Ambiance is wonderfull as the audio! Very well performed with not so much! Thank You!
Very well created mood. When the fire starts to die out i really start to get this claustrophobic feeling. One idea i can suggest is that maybe when the fire starts to die out the players movement speed increases as if to suggest panic and it would probably allow for the players to last longer which would allow different kinds of dangers not only the light dying out.
The atmosphere in this game is amazing! Dying sequence is also very cool! A bit more variety would be nice though, maybe some simple puzzles to get the keys?
I Like your game, nice work
Thank you everyone for playing and liking the game!! It's very motivating finally getting people to play the game, even though it is a little bit forced ;)
@deadboygames Glad you liked it, the game could use some work to make it more interesting i agree. But great suggestion with the speed changing according to the intensity of the light! @lamossus Yes more puzzles would make it more fun, which is the first thing i am adding next :))
And THANK YOU for all the suggestions and feedback! I am thinking of making a larger game out of this concept, so feel free to come with suggestions to what could make the game better!
You really manage to create a kind of claustrophobic feeling on this one. I manage to win the game on the second try, so it seems to be well balanced.
The audio FX are a nice addition. To add to the spooky mood, you could add more, such as heart beats when the light fades and things like that.
This kind of game with bigger maps and some kinds of temporary power-up (such as speed boots, lighs, etc.) and puzzles could be really nice.
Good job!
Amazing atmosphere, love the ambience. I found it difficult, but I like that in a game. I think the game could benefit from some random generation to change the map up. Overall, great job.
Great game with quite strong atmosphere despite simple gameplay. Would be nice to have a chance to take a break and refill candles in the general room, since you may pass near it several times while looking for keys.
I like the ambience!
The eyes! Very fun. Loved the candle burning out to raise the intensity. Solid soundtrack and fx. Death was epic. Good job!
Really liked your game ! even tho i have beaten it in the first try ;) i actually went back to play it again and checking every detail and i think you nailed the "scary" atmosphere with just simple two pixel red dots lol this game is really polished
This games atmosphere is great! I initially didn't notice that the light was shrinking as I always grabbed additional fuel while exploring - an indicator would be nice as it felt that the light was dimming slowly and then towards the end it went out really fast (but it might be my imagination once noticing and rushing to find the next fuel :D). I also expected that I'd have to scare the eyes away by turning towards them so that might be a nice addition (but to be honest the mood rely great even without that so not certain if it'd help). I expected that the labirint is random generated but fortunately that wasn't the case - it would become a random walk... - so I managed to beat it in two tries :) Nice work :)
This game has a really nice spooky atmosphere. Maybe the eyes could slowly move towards you from behind you and if they ever caught you - game over.
Very atmospheric! The mood is really strong side of the game and overall I like the take on the theme. The eyes in the dark are amazing and as I was able to finish the game on the first playthrough, I just had to go into the dark, wait and see what happens. Great job!
