Wooo interesting game! Stalking people on social media to harvest their data! Ctrl F is your friend!
Wow this is so real it actually teaches you how to harvest data! I loved it.
I absolutetly loved it and kept replaying it for like 30 minutes!!!! Thank you for that masterpiece! I think if you would expand it you can easily make it into a full game!
@azel-wkr there is an introduction page that gives you a lot of necessary information. But basically you use the hacker tool to get a persons email and then you sift through their posts to get the information needed to log in. And you want to fill out the personal data asked for on the contract tab at the top right.
@offdutyextractors Oh ok I see, I will happyly try that again. I must admit I didn't read the introduction ^^'
Wow great game! Am super curious about how this was put together.
@dkdwrek lots and lots of ai. One person programmed and I did everything else which basically meant the one song and generating thousands of things from an ai
We also got the names from a public Canadian name database. But other then that most content is ai generated.
@offdutyextractors thanks for the details! That's really cool. I wonder if something like this could be used to create a training tool, maybe to teach people about being "safe" online? Either way, had a lot of fun.
I really enjoyed playing this game! It was mischievously fun to dig into (imaginary) people's personal lives and steal their data. I'll admit, when I saw the disclaimer in the description about the AI generated assets, I was skeptical, but I think that this game was the best example for the value of such tools that I've seen to date. I think there's a balance between empty searching and activity that was *slightly* off, where I felt like I was scrolling through looking for data a bit too much, and I wasn't spending enough time actually discovering things, which I think could be improved with smaller social media feeds for your targets, but it's super hard to balance things like that on such a short timeframe, and it's pretty damn good already. The game could have benefitted from an interactive tutorial that showed me what to do, as I definitely got lost a bit in the beginning, but that's something that could be added in a post jam release, if the dev chooses to continue. I really loved the aesthetic of the virtual browser too, it sucked me right in, it was very inventive and enjoyable. I hope you guys polish this up into a full game after the jam, I'd love to play more!
Such an incredible idea and execution
Great use of the theme! Reminds me of Welcome to the Game (and its sequel). Really successful at giving you the uneasy feeling of doing something that isn't quite "right".
Amazing use of the theme, I also like the visual and the use of a simil webpage for the game! the concept is very interesting! One feedback would be that maybe the instructions should be given with some examples instead of a wall of text, I understand why you did it this way, but I think it might help to have them broke down a little.. Very good job!
@marcoming Glad you enjoyed!. And I definitely planned to make an introductory video showing the process. But the game jam said no.
Hacker Voice: "I'm in"
Really enjoyable experience, I kept hitting my browser's back button to try and navigate I was so immersed.
@neeeb glad you enjoyed! f11 (or your browser's full screen button) helps with not clicking the wrong go back button.
Really cool game. It was hard to understand but it was awesome when I did it. It feels so real and so smooth
what a crazy original and super clever idea! this game is not super easy to apprehend at first (as other people said), but then it was a new kind of experience for me. It is really a super smart take on the theme! I love how you used AI, i think it's super coherent for this game in particular. And it made me wonder how much of the information on people's profile was bent by you. Great job!
Thats a really cool idea :-).
The learning curve is way flatter than expected. Didn't expect to get started so fast. But once I clicked the "password forgotton" link it was clear what to do.
Actually don't know what else to say here. The game looks really polished. I found the audio stressing (I would prefer a more decent or heroic soundtrack).
Tbh: throw it on steam. I would say thats in a sellable state.
Very cool stuff! And unexpected turn on theme! On my first attempt was trying to figure out what to do and was just looking at these weird and creepy accounts, but right after that dived right into process. Was a bit annoyed that notebook hides every time I switch back to browser. Overall smart use of AI generated content. Had a lot of fun!
Wow you were able to accomplish so much with this! Interested in learning more about the world (apparently Baton Rouge is an active warzone..?) But not sure how much of that was intentional and how much was just something the AI spit out hehe.
If you were to develop it more, I thought it was cool that each person has their network of friends, and would love to see that used as a mechanic more, in this game it seemed mostly flavor.
My biggest criticism is (and maybe I'm just a bad dataminer)--after buying the email, I wasn't able to recoup funds fast enough to make a profit and ended up losing by the timer. Would love the option to amass more money, explore more and with more tools, and maybe have more specific data to collect like political affiliation. But, for the time limit, this was a great concept executed well! Also, cool to see a fellow game go with the "harvesting information" theme ;)
The game is definitely not for the faint of heart, as it can be quite challenging at times, but that only adds to the satisfaction of overcoming the obstacles. However, the tutorial is only provided in text format and some players may find it difficult to fully understand the mechanics of the game.
Additionally, it would be great if the game offered more in terms of difficulty options, such as easy or normal modes for those who are not quite ready for the full challenge.
Overall, the game does a great job of providing a challenging and satisfying experience, but a little more guidance and accessibility options would make it even better.
Amazing game! Loved the take on the theme and you nailed the execution!
This has its ups and downs. The overall enjoyment and fun factor are decent, but it falls short in terms of theme, graphics and mood. It has some level of innovation, but humor is not particularly noteworthy. Overall, it's not the worst, but it's not the best either. Some improvements could make it a more enjoyable experience.
Interesting game for sure, was fun trying to find the clues in their social media profiles and move in, but the timer felt pretty aggressive and often challenging to beat especially on your first go when you're learning what to do. Really unique use of AI which got the content in there but felt pretty bland trying to find them out as a person, could be a great tool for filling out secondary characters while getting a story in on these characters would make it more engaging. Great work getting this done and a really unique experience and would love to play a polished full game version of this one day!
I liked it! A few thing were mentioned, like the jungle and tick. Mabey these could be more places where you can get information!
A real cool and unique idea for a game and it's really well executed. Fantastic job managing to create this in a weekend!
The game is good, and I loved the gameplay. I didn't find the game particularly funny, more anxiety-inducing with the countdown, but that's not an atmosphere that I particularly dislike. Well done!
Nice game, it reminds me of Orwell. Scrolling through AI generated twitter simulation and emails searching for info felt more like work than play, but actually finding something felt like an achievement.
I'd love to see a casual mode where you don't have to pay for that VPN and can take your sweet time fulfilling the contracts and try to find every bit of info on a person.
This is simply amazing! I guess that's the best use for IA generated content yet. I really like game like this, made me think of Uplink and Orwell ^^ It's hard but fun, very well done!
This is a polished entry that fit the theme well! It was definitely creepy but I could see being a hit with those into hacker style games. Keep on making games!
Something about the AI generated posts have a nack for making me laugh (). Really polished and well done entry! It took me a long time to understand, and I couldn't really complete anything meaningful in the time limit I was given -- but I did end up logging into someones email on my second attempt, so I'm gonna be happy about that ()! I seriously have nothing negative to say about this other than the complexity needing to be explained better; I'm sure I'd have an edge if I was actually a hacker, but I got the hang of it after a while! I love how it plays *exactly* like a normal internet browser, it makes the game super intuitive to play, everything works how I would expect it to, it's *super well done.*
Overall, I loved it! Great job, both of you, I'm excited to see how the post jam version turns out! :beers:
Its a really astonishingly creative idea! I dont know how you used AI to create these profiles and posts but its also really interesting. But that being said, im here to be grumpy and try to nitpick so here we go!
- It would be cool to have a tutorial where you hold the players hand through the first person so that they get the idea of what to do. And also is a lot more inviting than reading a lot of text! Gamers are lazy! :))
- I wish i could work on multiple contracts at a time, since a lot of people are linked in some way it would make it much more interesting, faster and if a player gets stuck they would be able to take a break and move on to another person for a bit without feeling like they failed in a way.
- There should be another way of getting the email address without paying the 50$ fee, and so that the fee is there only like a last resort. But im guessing its there to stop the player from jumping from one contract to the next?
- Depending on the complexity of the game you wish to make, adding more pages and sites that unlock as the player progresses can be a cool thing. For example for 50$ the player can unlock LinkedIn where they will get Phone Numbers/Emails/Addresses easier. For a 100$ an Instagram account which gets more posts and mostly travel+pet pictures... Maybe adding google/wikipedia as a previous thing so that we can google for odd flags/telephone prefixes/where cities are and so on... Sorry im not creative its early in the morning but i hope you understand what i mean! he he :3
- And as always, more variety! :D.
PS. I played for 1-2 hours, and i still cant find a way of getting the IP(appart from the 50$ hack)/Phone number/Drivers licence anywhere, so how do you do it if its not too spoilery?
I nitpicked a lot, but i want to say again i absolutely love the game and I hope you manage to finish it! Also the posts made me laugh at times, so here are 2 depressing gems! lol

Thank you all for playing the game and giving your feedback! We're now making Harvester Inc. into a full game, and we'll be taking your suggestions into account.
If you're interested in following the development of the game, join our Discord server where we'll be posting about our progress and taking feedback!

Can you add posts and emails that appear in different parts of the game? Also can you add more extensions that you can buy???
@kikiriki367 We're glad you liked the game!
Currently, the IP address can be obtained by hacking, and there is a rare chance that someone will post it in a comment. Phone numbers are only obtainable by hacking, and the driver's license number can appear in emails from the government. It is possible for some information in the contract to not be obtainable, but we intend to fix that in the future.
@icalm We plan on adding features like that as we develop Harvester Inc. into a full game. If you're interested in following the future development of the game, check out our Discord: https://discord.gg/m8mvgz53HZ
Sounds good!
