Such a fun game. I love the slow time mechanic but maybe make the cooldown more clear. I needed some time to figure out, that the color of the player was the cooldown.

Thank you @zomk! I originally had a huge bar at the bottom switched to the more subtle colour change to keep it minimalistic. Probably not super intuitive, so added a hint to the controls for future players :)
A really fun game! The colours are pleasant to look at and the particles and sounds are real juicy. The background music sounds great and I like the simple rectangle graphics.
Great game. I like the simplicity of the game.
This game is like a 2D version of my own, I enjoyed it quite a bit and was able to get to the end. I wish I had thought of the slow mechanic! That was a really neat idea. The visuals are simple, clean, and easy to look at as well. Nice work :)
Wow! It's awesome!
Even deeper, and deeper! Love the feels on any collision, very arcade like! Was able to do some insane "almost-hit" moment, thanks for the fun! Congratulations
Nice collision animations! The game is visually and audibly stunning!
keeping the mouse down results in a weird jittering effect.
The gamefeel and controls are perfect. I really enjoyed playing your game. Great job!
Looks like you and I (and I'm sure many others) had the same idea  There's just something satisfying about squares falling! Comparing it to my game, I see at least two ideas that I would like to steal.
* The screen shake when hitting an obstacle is so freaking obvious. I'm not sure why I didn't think of that * The level break after you've fallen for a while is a nice touch. It gives the player a bit of a reward (and break) after staying alive for so long
Overall, I quite enjoyed playing your game. While it's the 'same' as mine, it's also completely different (if that makes sense). Well done!
This is a bloody great game! Its fast its fun and slowing down time right in time feels so nice. The one thing that good be modified to make this great game even better is just give the player better control of the square especially in slow down mode. i once got hit because no matter how much I moved the square in slowdown mode I couldn't squeeze through an area. But that just a small touch great job!
This is a polish game ! Wow it's so fun, I played for like 15-20 runs or something like that I can't even remember. The gameplay loop is simple but it work well thanks to the ScreenShake and the visual effects on the player. I had a great time, good job !
Simple but fun! I like the reduced style in combination with the chiptune music :)
@emeraldboy44 @bubakgames @delicioussalad @robotex @goutye @dhim @kaito @fussenkuh @techsec @shin0nome @xoreaxeax Thank you all for playing and commenting, these comments really made my day!!
I could already test the game! The truth is, it is very simple and minimalist. That does not mean that it is wrong, but quite the opposite. Comply with the slogan. The music supports the gameplay, and the sounds are just and necessary. Congratulations, it's a nice creation :)
A clever concept, and cleverly executed in a minimalistic manner that benefits time management in a gamejam.
I felt like there was room for some more depth to the gameplay other than the core *avoid obstacles* as simply a ramp up in difficulty wasn't enough to keep me glued to the game for very long. Or if there were more gameplay features down the line, I didn't stick around for it long enough to find them.
The art is minimal, but adding the particle trail and the shattering effects elevates it above what would otherwise feel be known as the dreaded *programmer art*. Nice use of screen shake, and the red cube turning black as indicator of time-slow ability was again clever.
The impact sounds are almost a little painful on my headset, some offensive frequencies in there that don't sound nice.
Simple and fun, with minimalistic art to go with it.
This was great - simple but compelling gameplay. Great sound and while the graphics are obviously very simple, I like the illusion of movement from the particle trail. The time slow-down is a nice touch. I couldn't get past the second level I'm afraid... I'd have liked a couple of seconds of invincability after crashing so I can reposition - I found myself crashing into two or three blocks in quick succession, ending what would otherwise have been a pretty good run.
The game is very fun to play. The slow mo mechanic is very well tuned and adds some kind of nervosity as this is the most important ressource. Maybe resetting fully the slow mo' after a death could be nice. I think. As pointed by other comments there is room for more gameplay elements to keep the player hooked (sliders ? bumpers ? teleporters ? etc ).
Well done !
Thanks again to everyone who took their time to look at my entry and leave a comment! I've been drifting away from doing gamedev projects for a while but all this feedback is getting me fired up to get it back on track and keep doing jams ❤
Thanks for the thorough feedback @flaterectomy! I actually had a system with power ups in mind when I started and figured that would also allow me to add some extra challenges. The bullet time was my first proof of concept for a power up but towards the end I realised there wasn't time to add much more, so I reworked it into more of a core concept instead. Sorry about the sounds, those frequencies might have been out of range for my basic headset :)
Excellent suggestion @garys! I played with the idea to have all blocks on screen explode when you hit something to give some breathing room, but it got visually overwhelming. Some invincibility would probably have done the trick!
@oddarock Resetting the slow motion on taking damage does seem fair. I don't have a lot of time to go back and do a post-jam version, but that might be the first improvement if I find the time!
Fun game, I liked the idea of you charge you life at the end of each stage. Good souds and music, congrats =)
Cool game. Fun mechanics and well done complete experience for a jam.
I loved slowing time on this! Good concept nicely executed. Very basic graphics and the SFX were a bit loud compared to the music imo. Well done though. Fun game!
