Really cute game, props to you for raising awareness through the jam! I found the boat a little slow to control, and it was a but unclear if I was supposed to drop the collected garbage off somewhere and how to go faster. Overall though, I really like the art and concept. Great work!

I liked the control on my boat. The color scheme and graphic treatment was very plesant. Unfortunately I couldn't clean up all of the ocean, I did burn some fuel trying though. :) Nice work!

greta will be proud of you :) yep, controls and boat feel a bit odd/slow. not sure how the recycling works, i got 3 points, but when i went to the smokey house with more trash, i didn't receive more. i think the noise effect is not helping and overdone.

Nice game. Great concept

cinar 2020-10-05 11:47

Cool idea. But the boat is really slow. idk is everyone having this issue.

indigo 2020-10-05 11:47

Yes, the scorekeeping doesn't seem to update properly -- it just jumped from 0 straight to 5 for me at some point. Props for taking a simple concept and just executing it to polish though.

Nice game, nice idea, nice graphics, but it was a bit unclear at the bginning how to recycle the stuff.

I think there might be an issue with the screen size. After a while I realised that there are UI elements at the bottom that are only visible in full screen. Also I found that the boat controls took me a while to fully understand. I worked out that you can tap 'W' or 'S' multiple times to quickly increase or decrease speed, which helped a lot. It might be worth putting some extra words in the jam description to further explain the controls as well as key points of interest, like where to exchange cargo for fuel. Nice submission! Well done raising awareness, it's a good use of the theme because it's an endless job that needs doing.

@cinar there are 5 different variants of speed, seen on the "Knots" window in the UI. Maybe you drive in the slowest speed? You can go all the way up to 5 Knots!

@indigo you get the points when you bring the trash back to the port. You can hold up to 6 cargos in your boat and deliver them all at once, every trash you bring to the habour you get 1 recycle point and a little bit of fuel.

Unfortunatly there could be way more player feedback when you bring deliver something or pick up trash. Also the smoke on the island was supposed to be the smoke from the ship, but it did not fit into the concept of the game anymore and I did not wanted to waste the assed I made ^^ So I just randomly placed it on the island and now everybody things that's something xD

Great little game that fit the concept and has replayability with the scoring system. Love the low poly islands and the movement of the background ships bring the game alive a bit. Enjoyable to play but I agree wth you and others that there could be more audio and visual feedback for actions to make it more immersive and clearer what is happening. Overall, a really great game!

The boat we control is really slow even from the start for me and I sort of felt like I was gonna get nowhere. However it also started to move a little bit faster before I even started gathering the recycles, so the game also felt glitchy with the movements. But other than that, I like the concept of the game. I agree that is also raises some awareness to keep our oceans clean :) Nice job.

This is a cool environmentally-conscious game.

The only problem is that controls are rather counterintuitive for us landlubbers and even clear instructions don't help with that because people don't read them (including myself). The boat can also get stuck close to land or even on the barrels once the cargo deck is full.

Great game. I enjoyed the floatiness of the controls. The boat felt more like it was on the water because of that. Easy to understand what was going on mostly. The eco-friendly message of the game was great. It confused me the first time because the fuel keeps going down if you are not moving. Apart from that it was a fantastic entry!

I enjoyed the enviromentally friendly theme and drifting with the lil' boat. I think it might have been cool to have your engine power affect how much fuel you burn. Now I kept running at full steam instead of really managing my speed. :speedboat:

Game can definitely do with some polish. Some music and sfx would have really helped with that but seeing its a Compo game I can see the challenge in that. I liked the theme though, reminds me on enviro-bear 3000 back in the day.

Impressive work with all the 3D-assets, the game looks great! I enjoyed playing it. Nicely done!

Thanks a lot for this post! You know, having fresh air is necessary, and ocean has got it. Besides, do you know why it is so important to clean the ventilation? I read on the site https://www.designraid.net/18236/why-is-it-important-to-clean-the-ventilation/ and didn't even think it was that serious. A ventilation system is required for every room. Very bad with a musty smell. Dirty ventilation can be very unpleasant. So this issue should be given a lot of time and effort.
