A little bit slow for my taste but well done!
Very nice! I found it kind of addicting. :) Some thing's I'd suggest are more obstacles - like cars that drive through the street. I only saw one seagull in the game and it didn't really pose much of a challenge. Also, I still don't know why it sometimes says that I've delivered the wrong order and sometimes the right one. A bit of explanation about that mechanic would be great too.
@KadenZombie8 We had plans for more seagulls and extra items/boosts etc. but time contraints meant we had to trim down some of those features. Cars would definitely add another layer. :)
@saryah Haha that's fine. Trimming down ideas in game jams happens to all of us I guess. You two did very well for the time you had!
Fun to ride around and I pretty much held boost the whole time. The camera angle was unique for a driving game. I like getting a whole a view of the city. The seagull stealing the food definitely made laugh out loud.
I was confused about why my orders were wrong. Could just be me not checking the number correctly.
I really love the idea, it was really fun and I kept wanting to play more. If anything the ability to upgrade how fast your bike can go would be really cool since it feels slow (at least just for my taste). I also would have loved the ability to zoom in as well, but otherwise it was really cool
Wonderful game, I like it! I don't know if the birds are hungry to steal the food because I didn't get them a chance to steal it! Thank you!
It will be better if there's any feedback when pick up/drop down, I like simulator type game :D
This was fun. Crazy Taxi: Bicycle edition lol. I wanted it to move faster but I'm not sure if that would have made it too difficult. Great job.
Nice delivery game. The phone popup visual was good. I liked all the fake restaurant chain names. It would be nice if you added a visual like a bar for your speed boost. Maybe make a neighborhood layout. The seagulls attacking was funny. Good job.
Loved the restaurant parodies, especially Snacca's
I was pleasantly surprised by how much fun I was having. The controls felt really nice and the music was good. Overall great job!
Fun little delivery game. I don't know why but a Kangaroo on a bike is just funny. Great job!
Cute game!! Would've liked to be able to take more than 1 order at once haha. The controls are pretty smooth and I like the effort put in!
Fun game, the music was really fun and I really enjoyed all of the mocked fast food brands, this was really delightful to play
Nice game and great idea!! I think you guys made the bike too slow because you guys didn't have much of level (I am talking the size of the world). You guys could have said how to evade the birds (It took me nearly 10 mins to figure out!) Great music and could have sfx!
Great submission! Also play my game!
@random-ideation-studios I've re-written the text above to hopefully make it clearer that you need to boost to avoid better avoid the gulls.
We definitely wanted to have more in-game instruction, and a larger level, but ran out of time to do so. Thanks for playing, really appreciate the feedback.
The music was cool and I liked the colorful street! I found the game really hard to play, though.
Maybe I'm just too bad at that genre, but I guess I missed mainly two things: I couldn't really tell if the speed boost is currently active - the speed difference seemed too little to really see any difference. And (going in the same direction) it would have been great to see if the speed boost was currently recharged and ready to use. Without those indicators, I found it hard to get a feel for the speed control.
The main idea was fun, though! And using seagulls as enemies is a hilarious idea. Didn't see the first bird coming, I was really surprised. :D
Cool idea, although the level design could have used a bit more...level design.
The graphics are well done, the parody fast food buildings looked great, and the main character was very detailed. The UI also looked very refined and unique. I also loved the music, I'm currently humming it as I write this comment!
As for the gameplay, the main thing I didn't like was the lack of any feedback for the boost mechanic. Having an invisible cool down made it feel really unresponsive, almost like it was broken. If you didn't have time to create a cooldown bar, I think it would have been better to not allow the player to use the boost until it's fully recharged so they don't end up with unsatisfying mini-boosts. Also, I didn't even realize the seagulls had an effect on gameplay since they never really got close enough to do anything. I guess that's more a balancing issue than anything.
Overall though, great job on an almost complete Uber simulator!
A bit slow and the graphics were also a bit weird but gameplay was very fun!
The music is good
A simple and interesting game. Cool element with a bird that steals food. I didn't have enough variety in the level. It would be interesting to add obstacles that need to be avoided. Still, I liked the game. Good job!
It felt like the controls were the wrong way round when reversing but that might have just been me. Overall the game was an interesting idea but felt a little empty and undercooked. I imagine with more time you could have provided a fuller experience.
Nice game. With some obstacles like lampposts and trash cans and moving cars and higher speed this could be more fun.
@ntimi @skleembof A boost metre was definitely on the todo list, but we unfortunately ran out of time... I agree that without it it makes the mechanic feel very unintuitive. The same is true for the level, our original idea was to have a 10 street town, with the restaurants in single block and the houses in the outlying blocks, as well as have the customers give you fake reviews that you could see on the phone app, all cut due to time.
@nikaz @flying-dog-fish: Adding obstacles to avoid is a great idea, we could have even had things like trashcans that you could knock over and distract the birds with the trash!
@surfa @gog @goddoesplaydice: Thanks heaps for playing, we really appreciate the comments and feedback!
nice art! Though in game I only every see the back of the roo! I think I wasn't sure if I was dropping off or picking up an order though I was eventually able to deliver things (though seagulls did steal a pizza). The bike speed is a bit slow. I was thinking maybe it was slower on the grass, and I noticed I sped up if I pressed shift. Keep up the good work!
@aeveis Thanks! Like I said above, we had planned to have a "boost meter" (pedal meter?) to make the boost mechanic more obvious (plus show it's activation key), but we ran out of time, haha. Cheers for the feedback!
The seagulls were a nice mechanic but otherwise it was a bit empty. The movement felt way too slow, even with the boost.
The addition of the seagulls is a good idea for the challenge and I find the movement very well executed, we understand that we will soon be stolen the dish.
Well done for having achieved to create all these things with only 2 people. I love the music
Juts, on my side, the player was very slow too even with the boost. I take a look on the source code, in ```data/scripts/PlayerScript.cs``` I think the var ```RigidBody``` should not see its velocity modified on Update Function. It's better to use FixedUpdate for the physics and might explains why it is so slow on my side. :smirk:
@aune Thanks for playing, glad you liked it! You're absolutely right, it *should* have been in FixedUpdate, doh!
Similar to others the bike drove very slowly for me, and the boost did not seem to give me a very strong speedup. That aside, I liked what you were going for with this game. All the weird variations of real life fastfood chains were really funny to me :D I also liked the idea of trying to be as fast as possible, but there was not much danger involved. Perhaps some car traffic or pedestrians to hit would have made the game more exciting :P
looks like work)
@wuppos All great ideas! We'd originally planned to have a bigger map, with faster seagulls, and collectable powerups for speed and protection, but ran out of time; but cars and other obstacles is great idea too! @gordienkogames Thanks for playing!
The visual design of this game showcases the developer's passion and effort, with handcrafted graphics that have a distinct homemade charm
@stevie257 Thank you for the kind words!
@aeveis Extra shot of the front of the roo - Just for you :)
