this was a really interesting idea, kinda brought me back to the old mud days, but in a visual sense. i could see this as a bigger game with more puzzles and encounters
Great game and idea.
I like it.
I won! yay!
Really nice game, lacked a bit of sound tho! Too bad its so short, would like to play more
This is a nice minimalistic retro game. However, the movement controls are too convoluted: what's the point of pressing space while holding a directional button instead of simply pressing the directional button by itself?
@flying-dog-fish The idea was to allow you to check on the enemy before attacking. I think making the default action 'check the enemy' when there is one and require a button to attack would have been better, but I did not get that idea during the compo
Game is really good, animations are quite nice,
but I feel like there is not much of a strategy, I mean basically if you spend all your money in attack you will win the game.
Would be nice to have more like a balance between need to have more life and defense to kill the enemies.
cool game, but sometimes you cant win^^
I really like the dungeon generation and mood of the game. Spacebar moving was horrible will be better if I can simple moving by wasd )) But any way cool concept, I like it )
@sharbelfs pst, don't tell everyone ;). I tried to make it more interesting, but that always came at the cost of causing unwinnable games, so I decided to go with the simple solution.
@tort60091 I agree about the movement, I really wanted to have the 'check enemy' thing but did not realize I could just not make 'move to enemy' be an auto attack
I really liked this game, the animations were well polished, and I seem to be the minority, but I actually enjoyed the space-to-move mechanic a lot. It wasn't super relevant in this situation, but I could see that being a core mechanic in a bigger game for sure. I do wish there was sound, but I know how it can be hard to get that in time lol. Really nice work!
I love games that not overengineer fun, this was really cool, i would love to play some more expanded version with puzzles, it would be also great to see what are the stats of all opponents. I also found a bug where right after loosing game when i defeated first blob i got message that i won the game :/
Compo rules!
@palemek Thanks for your comment! Looks like I forgot to reset a critical piece when restarting  . The stats are hidden on purpose, the game becomes trivial once you know them. The idea was that you need to experiment to figure out what their stats are (or more precisely, how to beat them)
The animations were really cute! this is a cool concept for a game and I'd love to see it expanded on. Great job!
Loved the gameplay and the graphics are cute(although they scaled up blurry).
I enjoyed the game, i didn't care as much for the control system, but I understand it. I was hoping for audio as it would really enhance the game. The animations and graphics were great! I really liked the game, great job!
Not bad at all. Not every initial layout is winnable, which is a bit disappointing, but that's the only major issue. More levels would be nice, of course!
@tinysalad they should not scale blurry, can you tell me which browser you where using? I would really like to fix that.
@microwerx I just ran out of time for audio. Maybe I will create a version with audio and tweaks to the controls just for the heck of it later, though.
@coda-highland Every layout should be winnable, but there are some that require you to know precisely what you are doing. If you still remember, can you tell me what it looked like when it seemed to be not winnable?
@rialgar The maze was laid out such that the monster you need to have at least one shield to defeat was sitting in the only path between the start square and the shield shop.
@rialgar Using Firefox
@coda-highland aha! you do not need a shield!
@tinysalad thanks, will try to see if I find the issue
