Though the core gameplay loop is solid, the game feels sluggish due to initial speeds and how it controls. The graphics look good, though I personally dislike the music and sound effects.

Nice and simple game, well done!
Awesome graphics, good gameplay, great sound and I love the eating sound effect too much :)
Great game, good job.
Loved it completely! From the art, the care with SFXs and the mechanics that reminds me of some games from my childhood!
Congratulations on the publication! I loved the game :smile_cat:
I saw myself a lot in this rabbit. Got to score 9500! Very well polished game and I like the art and animations ;)
The art is really well done, just wish the controls were a bit more responsive. Early on it can be a bit boring, but once it gets faster going it is more fun.
Nice little game ! I think the control of the rabbit could be more fluid, but I spent a good time digging to recolt some carrots ;) I really liked the graphic style (all thanks to the little glasses, it was so cute). If you want to re-work on this game, maybe you could create multiple biomes / other vegetables !
Does anything happen when the carrot meter is full? I could never get it filled.
@jake-b The carrot meter is really just your life meter, keep it above 0 to not die. You cannot get it to more than filled. You cannot overfill carrots as you know.
Solid visuals and solid simple arcade gameplay. With some polish and perhaps separate levels I could see this as a mobile game perhaps?
The music didn't loop properly, I may be wrong but it sounded like you used an mp3 file or something (mp3 usually won't loop cleanly, as opposed to wav or ogg). Also it'd be nice to see your current score during gameplay. Doesn't really affect anything, but just feels better imo.
@iak Thanks for the feedback! The music is ogg indeed and it plays back properly on the devices I have tried - I think. But now I will go back and try it again and listen carefully, audio debugging can be tricky at times, maybe I just did not hear it because I did not pay special attention to it.
As for the live score, that was actually a deliberate choice. It would be very easy to insert that text but I decided against it. My thinking was to put the attention on the carrot - your life. Also I find it a nice element that you do not know until the last moment whether you are better than before or not. I find it adds a little tension :-)
Love the graphics and the sfx for eating the carrots! The game's core is simple and solid, but I wouldn't mind if the challenge ramped up just a bit more
Nice simple game. At first I thought the controls were not responding right, until I realized it was based on moving discretely between the columns and I was better off clicking a key than holding it down. It would be nice if there was a bit more of a difficulty curve, maybe some sort of obstacle you can't move through etc. Well done game overall
Good game. Liked the cute graphics. At first i thought collission detection is a bit off because i didn't get all the carrots I hit. But after realizing that the game is column based my hit rate got better. After realizing this my input style also changed from holding keys to just clicking them.
Cute art and sound effects, and quite fun for how simple it is! The hitboxes of the carrots seem to be a bit too small, as for many times I have moved into a carrot only to miss it. Congrats on finishing the game!
I love the cute graphics, but i think that the music loop is too short and gets repetitive. The hitboxes also don't match sometimes. Overall i think this was a nice game, was fun to play on stream.
Cute game... I liked the sound effects and the idea that our rabbit _really_ doesn't like onions! ;) Sometimes the sound disappeared for me, but usually came back after a refresh.
Like others I think the carrot hit boxes could be a little bigger, and due to the speed I found it a little unintuitive as I had no idea what was coming up next.
Overall the gameplay is a little unforgiving. I think the carrots and onions spawn randomly, so it's luck of the draw how many I'll see - but it seems even when I have a good run with lots of carrots and few onions, the game is still over very quickly. It doesn't seem like eating carrots replenishes the meter by a great deal. I wonder if it might be fun to have a predetermined run that you could try to master through a lot of playthroughs and trial and error?
Cute and Gross.

A cute little rabbit, but only sometimes he doesn't want to eat a carrot that he didn't hit by a millimeter. It would make more generous colliders. Nice fit on theme.
Is it a good score? Is it my best score? I don't know ^^ It lacks of the storage of a high score, maybe in the local storage.
The game is fun but requires super sayan reflexes to dodge or eat carrots  The graphics are good ^^
The SFX of the rabbit which vomits makes me a bit sick 🤮

@curtis-pelissier it's a good score ;)
Recording the puking sounds made me a bit sick too haha
Thanks for playing and commenting on our game :)
Very cool! The graphics and audio are really cute and charming! While playing I imagined this could be a cool little real-time multiplayer game, where you race your bunny against others and eat away each other's carrots and maybe bump into each other :D
Sometimes I got a bit stuck when holding down left or right, which made it hard to predict the angle I needed to catch the carrot. Also, I think it might be worth experimenting with the difficulty/intensity curve a bit more. It felt like I was making good progress and getting faster at the beginning, but after a while it just seemed like the same thing for a long time (probably because we perceive sensory changes in a logarithmic manner, so maybe the speed should be increased exponentially?)
But the animation and the well-crafted sound effect at the end made it all well worth playing :stuck_out_tongue: My score was 12580.
Congrats on making your first jam game! 🥳 Really well done!
@phi Wow 12580 is a great score for someone who did not play it 72 hours straight while developing it! We only get to 14000 ourselves! :-D
Wow, the cute bunny sure can dig fast.
A simple game sure, but it works well and looks nice. At first it seemed kinda wonky, since it seemed like I often "got stuck" on the tunnel I was digging, but the game felt a lot smoother, after I figured two things out: 1. It's better to just press the buttons rather than holding them down. 2. The rabbit and carrots/onions are aligned in lines and with one press you change one line.
With that in mind the game was a whole lot more fun. And I could appreciate the art and cute sound effects (apart from the vomiting at the end, maybe ) even more.
This is the end score of my first playthrough: Bunny.png
Very cute bunny and very funny game. I dont have any criticism because game is simple and fun
Congratulations on the game, I found the style very fun, I hope it continues to evolve in your project, I will make some suggestions create bonuses and rewards for the amounts obtained, make the rabbit turn the body to the angle he is digging, and create a story that justifies the action, so you end up adding new players, I hope I helped, and I look forward to your feedback on my game. I will be very happy, thank you my friends.
I didn't had sound nor music at first try, but it worked the second time, when I saw comments about it and gave it another try. (I'm on last version of FF, if it can helps in any way). Cute arts, fun sounds, a little repetitive yet not disturbing music. I found this game a little too easy (in fact I would say it's almost as too easy as mine is too difficult 😂), but it was fun to play! Good job!
This is definitely an easy game, and I never really struggled to pick up carrots. I had to intentionally let the timer run out for the game to end. Cool game though! I like the art (though not a huge fan of the puking animation). Nice game!
