It could use so much more to it but it's already awesome. I love the little battle animations

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do to pass level 2, but I think that forging 2crystals at the same time is supposed to make me stronger, but only shows as if I only used 1.

@hugonun – looks like there was a tiny bug in there where the wrong prefab was dragged for the 2 crystal recipe (which as you found made it impossible to proceed). Also I noticed that the sounds weren't working when played from the browser due to another minor issue. I fixed those if you want to try again.

I figured the game out after a few tries and played it for much longer than I had planned for. Very well balanced mechanics that forces you to sacrifice a few heroes for souls. Well done!

Cool game. I liked the strategy of building your character. It needs a win screen though. I don't know what the people above are talking about with the crystal, but I did have to exit and renter the game twice to get enough demon essence to beat my first dungeon with demons. Overall, I found this game great.

Cute graphics. I eventually got to make it past the first set of enemies. The crafting system was sort of confusing to me. I wish I could have crafted more than one item at a time.

I love the grafics. Really nice game, but unfortunately stuck in the snow biom. Well done!

I really like games like this, it plays well, and has some flavor into it, and you seem to be a solo dev who made all the assets. (wow) Really good job, exceptional work! :)

luker128 2018-12-23 19:50

I really like the idea, and the fact that the game 'plays itself' when you watch the battles unfold. Harvesting souls is however quite tiring.

eli-delventhal 2018-12-23 22:55

@dorukh Thanks. :-) I cut a lot of corners with the assets so that it would be possible. For example, the world map is actually a zoomed out version of a Minecraft server map I play on. :-P Keeping the characters and items super low res (16x16) and based upon art I've already drawn before makes them very fast to knock out. It only took me about 3 hours to draw every character, and 2 more to draw the items. The UI took by far the most time, and probably looks the worst!

eli-delventhal 2018-12-23 23:09

@hacktier Auch, you're right! Another balance problem. Looks like it's impossible to beat the demons. You'd need to kill at least one to be able to kill one, it's a catch-22. I'll type a new number into the config and update it.

@luker128 Yeah, I was planning for a quest that just gains you souls, but never got around to it. I agree it's a bit slow.

miziziziz 2018-12-24 02:21

really fun game, enjoyed this a lot! Would love to see some more story and polish on this. By the way, is there any way to get defense against normal attacks?

eli-delventhal 2018-12-25 19:21

@miziziziz You're right, there's no way to defend against normal attacks. I was planning on it but it ended up out of scope. Also, in some cases, I had to add a bit of normal attack to an enemy because otherwise there was an edge case that could cause the battle to never end (each side doing 0 to each other).

Pretty nice game already and it would make for a solid foundation for something much bigger. Visuals and audio are nice and gameplay is really interesting, but a little grindy. If, like you already mentioned, you added a bestiary and especially some parallelization (gaining souls is quite awkward at the moment), this could become a really great little game. It is already quite enjoyable in its current state though, good job!

Very fun game, though very grindy. Maybe if at least some of the crafted progress can be carried through then it would be less of a grind. But the premise is great! Should you make it less grind heavy and more progress heavy, then the idea of elements and battle preparations is awesome! Also the artstyle is great, audio is nice, the overworld map, though not really good for anything, is awesome touch that hooked me in the first place! Add some story here and there and I'm in! Overall pretty solid entry!
