Excellent presentation, the soundtrack and visuals were great. The dragon moves a little too slow and doesn't seem to follow the lines very accurately. But it's an interesting idea for a game.

Amazing visuals and audio! Great Game, however, a bit confusing at first.

The artwork was so great!

amour-du-pain 2018-04-25 09:52

Loved the graphics ! Considering the balloons speed, I think that the serpent is a little too slow. Making him quicker (or more responsive) would make the player's mistakes less frustrating and the overall experience more relaxing.

Really beautiful aesthetic. Guiding the serpent took a bit of getting used to but I like the mechanic.

Linux version worked fine. The dragon was a bit hard to control. I managed to get to tail length 15, but the darn thing kept trying to eat its own tail! 😄

Incredible ! Love the art, the interface, the gameplay ! The poetic ambiance works perfectly with the gameplay. Well done for the combination between the two genres. There is only two things I think could be improved : I did not know if I had to go on the floating islands or not and the dragon is a little bit hard to control. Well done !

Beautiful work of art, well done!

It was a great idea! I like the art and music. The game felt a little slow for my taste but I guess it was pretty zen. The dragon controls were a bit difficult, maybe remove the last paint swipe when the player draws a new one? That might help the dragon's confusion. But overall I think it was quite innovative. Also, try out this game if you have a few mins: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/infinite-checkers

This is a great game!

Loved the art and mechanic. I think this would be great on mobile!

Very beautiful game, I like the mood and colors, it's super chill. The gameplay idea is interesting, but the serpent may be a bit slow, maybe adding a dash would let you save difficult situations. The pagoda also take a long time to start spawning. The slow pace is relaxing but there is too little changes in scenery or in effects. More painting effects, like fluids dripping from the serpent, would make it even more beautiful. Anyway, keep up the good work !

This was a beautiful game with a nice mood. The music was calming and the art was amazing. A neat feature would have been the ability to get your lines redrawn as a painting with different colors based on when and where you drew the line, so you get a sort of painting that is your gameplay path.

The actual gameplay was a bit hard to controll at times and the play-space really becomes smal once your serpent increases in size, but other than that it was a really fun and calming experience.

kainkun 2018-04-27 17:19

really good :) Im not sure how hard controlling the dragon is supposed to be but i feel like it looped in on itself even though i didnt paint behind the dragon

altron 2018-04-27 17:20

Very nice and relaxing game, maybe a little hard to control, but because of the slow pace it wasn't a problem :)

I have very mixed feelings about this work (I'm deliberately not using "game"). I love it, but I don't like it.

The art is absolutely astounding and gorgeous in every aspect. The music is amazing as well, and both the music and the visuals truly create an enchanting atmosphere of peace and tranquility. They work so very well together and could probably wash all the worries off my back on their own. I'm not being hyperbolic for the sake of praising either; I genuinely mean this.

The reason I don't like it is because it doesn't feel right as a game. The idea is interesting, but the controls are too wonky and the dragon feels too unresponsive. There were times at which the dragon was moving in a completely different direction than where I was drawing, and there were even more times at which the dragon wasn't responding to my drawings at all. The interactivity feels very off a lot of the time.

This work is astounding beautiful, almost even a piece of art. But it doesn't work as a "game", in my honest opinion.

Really cool game dude !

yetman 2018-04-28 10:49

Looks really good. I also like the idea. However, I felt that the controls are bit annoying. Although the serpent's slow speed makes the game relaxing, it also makes controlling him hard and decreases the excitement in the game. What especially makes the slow pacing hard is the fact that the paint is static in screen space while everything moves backwards relative to the screen so the player needs really good predictions for when the serpent will finally reach the paint. Otherwise, the idea is great, the implementation is nice, the visuals are awesome and pleasant for the eyes and the music is relaxing. Great job.

fox-in-sox 2018-04-29 17:08

Awesome visuals! The game would work better if the dragon was much faster. Dynamic gameplay can make a big difference.

bomb-x 2018-04-29 18:16

Beautiful and "poetic" game ! Love the idea of the dragon snake ! Like said in others comments, the pen and drawing not feel very well ! Well done :)

kingofwhawha 2018-04-30 08:44

The art is what I believe shines best in this game. The movement, however, is a bit difficult to figure out, but I got used to it after a short while. Nevertheless it's quite finished and very well done!

korteh 2018-05-01 11:28

wow great game, with little posishing it can play very good on mobile

hare-software 2018-05-01 12:19

Great atmosphere! The graphics and music go really well together and the concept is familiar, yet refreshing. Well done!

mandarad 2018-05-01 22:26

Took me a little while to get used to the controls, but I got the hang of it eventually. Neat idea and a nice entry!

smaganik 2018-05-02 13:51

Very creative idea, simple and well-polished art, well done!

menushka 2018-05-03 02:47

Beautiful game, i really loved the aesthetic. The controls felt a little too insecure for my liking and i felt the game was a little too easy. Maybe some enemy dragons or something could make it a little more challenging. Overall good job!

cristiano-m-garcia 2018-05-07 03:54

Good job! Cool game!

I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.

I hope you continue with the project.
