How do you like the game?
The buggy movement made it hard to play but I love the idea and the graphics are wonderful!
The game isn't playable :/ I keep getting stuck on random grass parts. The music's nice and I don't mind the graphics though.
Hey ! Congrat on you submission ! Your idea of searching for the lost people of your tribe to finally sacrifice them is really fun ! Too bad you got no time to fix those bugs ! Cheers !
If you keep getting stuck, press T or G to get out the ground. The collisions are buggy, and we needed to move on, so there was a quick fix.
I really like the graphics of your game, it fits your theme very well. Having to keep pressing T or G was a bit cumbersome, but the idea behind your game is really fun.
The idea is very unique and I like the pixel art, well done!
I was basically unable to ever move sideways without jumping, which made it super-frustrating, sorry.
I did not understand anything ! or so it's the displacement bug that makes me lose the north
I coudn't move, only jump. Nice Art.
I feel like there is something missing. The game does not feel very challenging. The graphics are nice tho and the music fits as well. What game engine are you using?
I like the graphics and feel of the game despite ut being quite unplayable due to the bugs you p[ointed out. Interested to see what you'll do with it, storywise etc.
If you click K the level is updated and the money remains and so endlessly you can farm money and you have a bug if you click G
Sadly movement is completely bugged, eventually I actually got stuck on the ground and had to restart. There is not much of a challenge apart from walking ahead, since all people you collect are on the path regardless. Good idea, but the execution could be better. Try again, but keep the graphic style, it's not bad at all!
Apart from the controls, the music is very good and fitting to the mayan theme and the pixel art is great. Let me know if you fixed the controls.
Hey! I tried to play your game but it seems it's pretty bugged to an extent, that playing doesn't make much sense. I can't walk backwards, both keys (a & d) move my character to the right. If i press them both at the same time, I can double my walking speed. After some running, I got stuck in the floor and couldn't continue. Too bad, since the graphics and the sound seemed pretty cool.
Edit: Just read about the getting stuck issue and pressing t&g at the same time. Didn't catch that before starting the game, sorry!
The idea is pretty nice! The graphics are OK, they could really use some outline if you ask me. The buggy movement made it unenjoyable, sadly.. I could only move at all while jumping, and even then by just one or two pixels. But I'd like to see the idea behind it further developed!
The music and mood is great, though the gameplay lacks sense
Seems like it has charm and heart. Just need to crush those movement bugs to make it playable. I like the artwork.
We are currently working on fixing most of the bugs said, and it will be released in a day or two.
I think the idea could be fun, it's sad that the movement is buggy, the audio and graphics are decent, but I kept getting stuck in the ground, and at last I got stuck in the roof, so I couldn't move.
Like the art style! However too many bugs, and wish there will be an clear objective in the post-jam version.
In the movements just the jump works. :(
Congratulations on your game for LD-44! although the game had a few bugs, it felt satisfying hearing the music background and finding over 45 people. I kept going right (Left doesn't work) searching for an ending, but I believe there isn't any . Hope you continue development on this game and try to fix all bugs, it will help you a lot as a developer. Great Job!
unfortunately the game is basically unplayable! still good art but you probably should have put more effort in the core mechanics like the movement and stuff first! can'T judge though our movement is a bit buggy too
The idea is nice but I don't see any challenge in it. Except the fact that my little dude would only run to the right and after some time he wouldn't even run anymore, he would got stuck (T didn't help) so I could only jump. :( But I liked the sound and art!
Graphics are nice but controls are hard to use : you only can move with jump, "G" do something strange, and you can't go back and sometimes you're blocked without any reason. Music is really cool ;)
The game could definitely use more content, but I know it can be hard to add a lot of content in a short amount of time. The graphics are pretty nice, though; so is the audio. I think a post-jam version of this could be pretty fun!
This game is quite bugged. Protagonist can move only right and only when jumping else he will stuck in ground. Graphics and music are good. Good luck!
The game has some problems which everyone else has pointed out. Something I really liked though was the art and sound. You did a great job on both of those things.
Thanks, @ghostgoatsgames - We spent most of our time working on those. Gameplay was kind of rushed, but we both specialise in music, and I am good a pixel art, so we went with what we are good at.
Collisions could be such time consuming when you make a bad start with it, i've spent way too much time on way too many games with it so I totally understand this is frustrating and didn't allow you to build much gameplay. Cool job on music, the character design and overall mood of the game. I've tried to walk around (using debug keys) until 2 dozens of people were "saved" but I felt looping in the same room forever... I guess you should prepare your some bulletproof magic formulas for collision before the jam begins so you won't be bothered with this next time :)
