Awesome idea! I played the android version (great that you've included that). Controls were not 100% (I kept throwing out weapons by mistake) but for a game made in 3 days it feels great. I think by adding some complexity (e.g., having to match the weapon with enemy type) this could become a really fun game.
The graphics and mood of the game were exceptionally good.

A rare look into the world of the overlooked heroes of the RPG genre, backpacks. When I lose something from my backpack, now I'll know why, it's because my backpack fat fingered the damn Hatchet and knocked everything out! A truly engaging experience.
This made me value my inventory a lot more while playing RPG games, thank you for sharing this message. Other than that, it's amazing to me that you got done so much in such a short time. Well done!

As I said over twitter, I have a soft spot for this idea as it was an idea I had SO MANY YEARS AGO and I haven't been able to build the right game with it yet. It's super impressive the amount of work you've put into this little guy, and it's already on the Play store already, lol :)
It's super gorgeous, and the jiggle as you walk is a great little detail.
Some feedback on the gameplay though: - The physics of the pickup and such is a bit off, I'm often throwing stuff out without meaning to. - The "peek ahead" thing takes too long and while that's happening it's difficult to do anything else. It really should be a quick thing, and probably not a whole camera transition. Quick zoom out and back in while a button is held down, probably. - There's no feedback about how much weight you have - or if there is I didn't find it. Which makes the overemcumbered ending come suddenly and without warning, and is unsatisfying. - The core problem though is that there's not much decision making or skill in the core game loop - popping almost anything in the weapon rack is pretty much all there is to do, and deciding whether to fulfil a quest or sell some loot feels... Not like a real decision if you want to score.
Still a really good effort, I love the concept and execution :)
@matank Thank you very much for your feedback! We will definitely make the game more interesting by spicing up the content (more enemies, loot and quests) and those technical difficulties will be dealt with accordingly.
@sauski Now you know who to blaim next time you lose items in RPG's! Better make sure your backpack stays happy. Thanks for the kind words!
@hare-software That's great to hear, thank you very much! This is actually the first game jam in which almost everything worked out immediately.
@tuism Thank you! :) It feels so good to receive such kind words and great valuable feedback. - Yes, the physics definitely need work. Throwing more items out than you meant is actually by design, to spice up the difficulty and fun but I agree that it needs work. - Alright, that's a great tip, thanks! - Heard this one multiple times, we'll fix this very soon. - That's a good thing to think about. We'll rethink the design of the core loop to make this more interesting.
Really loved this game! Might actually play in my spare time lol

Nice funny game, sometimes I lost precious weapons unexpectedly (bug ?), but anyway, original and cool game ! ;)
Seriously fun game, I hope you guys score pretty high up!
Excellent game idea :) It's so cool that you have an android version (I played this one). The game started intriguing but it became sort of pointless at a time, because I always had things to use in my backpack, even selling loot everytime. The theme felt a little bit off, the backpack always had plenty of space. In the end I pressed the X and it said I've lost because I fell under the weight of my backpack, was this supposed to happen? I really liked the idea, very innovative. Maybe you could tweek some stuff for a post jam version. Congrats on your entry!
Oh, I think I've found a bug: the last weapon I used always appeared floating next to my hand when it went reaching for the next weapon to use.

Exellent idea and realisation, the mood is very light and cool! I kept loosing all treasure when I wanted to give a weapon but it was really fun!
Thank you everyone for playing <3! We definitely have plans for additional monsters, quests and items. And of course; polishing of existing content, squashing bugs and all that! Right now I'm animating a boss! (hint; it's a happy-ballerina-dragon) ;) https://i.imgur.com/XHeGfi6.gifv is a gif of me rigging him ;) And one of his funky new animations: https://i.imgur.com/Ky9JZMg.gifv
I like audio and idea. Graphic is also good. Very simple and satisfying.

Awesome idea. Simple and smart! I not alwasys felt icontrol over what is happening but I'm sure it can be improve with time. Great entry.
Very coo lgame, with a very nice gameplay. The characters and the enviroment are very nice designed, and the music is fitting the mood, even though it gets a little bit repetitive after a while.
A really fun game, I love the hand coming back and trying to find something to attack. There are some collision problems, but that could be fixed quickly post-jam, I think it has a lot of potential. Very nice!

Awesome game , I like the graphic and entire things , just perfect ~
This game was super addictive! I feel like the difficulty ramp up was a bit slow for me, but it was a very satisfying game to play. I loved the art style. The grab animation made me smile every time I saw it. Thanks for sharing it with my stream!
@ursagames It was TONS of fun to see you play! The more feedback we get, the better! Good luck with your stream! Are you perhaps playing more Ludum Dare games any time soon?
We have some neat features planned, like: - Bossfights - New monsters and loot - Tons of bugfixes - Better quest system
If you (anyone visiting this page, of course) have any suggestions on how to improve the game, please let us know! Love ya! <3
@kapiteinkoekwous Glad you enjoyed the stream! I will be doing more Ludum Dare games 7PM PST Friday and 1 PM PST Saturday. I might end up doing more than that too, but those days are planned for sure.
Nice entry and an interesting concept! The framerate of the mobile version was too low, so I had to play the WIN version. The physics acts strangely sometimes, so it happens to accidentally throw away weapons, and there is a bug that makes fly your character if you drag an item at the top of the screen. With some adjustments, however, it could be a great mobile game. Keep up the good work!
@nickzangus Thank you for the feedback! Can I ask what phone and operating system you used? Thanks!
@kapiteinkoekwous One plus One (it's quite old, but can run most recent games) with Android 6.0.1
@nickzangus I'm sorry the game ran bad for your phone. Our first priority is fixing bugs and improving performance for mobile devices. So we hear you! :D
Nice game! Really cool and interesting! :D

Got 11,973 total. The game is quite fun. Had some amusing bugs, but all in all this is a solid entry and a great game. Interesting idea :D
The graphics and audio were nice. I had a problem with the loot falling out of the weapon rack and the backpack all the time. There was also no way to tell how much weight was too much. And, why can you only sell 25% of the loot?
Great idea! Haha, dealt very well with the theme of the game jam. Good job !
Great idea! Graphics and audio were really nice too. Overall a really fun experience.
Really surprised by this game i had a very good moment playing it, and android version is a good idea i'll play it on my phone !

The idea is brilliant, and I really liked the graphics
As for gameplay, I think relying so heavily in physics made the game awkward to play -at least on Windows. Sometimes I would try to drop an item and would be picked instead, or was trying to move it to the weapon rack only to see it fall.
In any case, there's quite a bunch of content here for a 3-day game. If you can polish this for a post-jam version the core mechanic is super promising. Good job, keep at it!
Played Android version.
Really nice execution of a simple idea!
The audio, models and mood in general remind me of games like Medievil and Banjo-kazooie, and that's a great thing :)
I had fun playing this, and I think it was a good design decision to make monsters appear from the sideand give the player the option to peek. This way you still keep most of the screen available for the backpack while allowing to check for monsters, all while adding one more choice the user has to make.
Like others have mentioned, relying on physics the whole time makes it unreliable sometimes. For instance whenever I wanted to throw something away after I placed the weapon, the weapon would fall off and I would get hit haha. I never had the feeling I was running out of space tho, maybe Mr. Checkpoint is coming up too often?
All in all it is a very fun game, and I love the style and funky mood, great job guys :)
Real fun game! I like the idea, and the art style really added to its humor. I didn't get too far, it took me a while to get a banana for one of the quests :/
Liked the idea. Also really liked the character models. The physics of moving stuff and handing it to the knight felt weird. Would have liked to see the battle. The loop itself is alright. Would be cool to buy stuff an equip him with other stuff.
Good game and new concept :D But it was kind of annoying that the weapons could fall out of the bag on themselves.
Clever take on the theme, I would have loved the backpack to have more of a personality.
But that's just the animator in me talking. Nice little game :) Liked the animation on the knight! The design and animation fits perfectly. Good job!
Became somewhat repetitive, but that was to be expected.

Awesome idea, and perfect use of the theme! But I wish the invenory management had a bit more interaction with the monster-fighting mechanics. Combining backpack items to craft better items, or fending-off tiny loot-stealing rodents. The art and animation was great, I really loved the image of a hapless adventurer with an incredibly helpful intelligent backpack!
Really nice mobile timekiller I would say. It's simple enough not to pay too much attention to it, while you are driving in the metro, or waiting in line, and engaging enough to grab your attention while you have some spare time. Graphics are cute and sounds are well made. BGM is very fitting, but gets a little bit repetitive after a while. Also, physics are a little bit glitchy, but I guess that's intentional.
I don't know if it's a bug or not, but for some reason my hearts were not replenishing when I lost from over-encumbering and restarted the game.
Neat concept made even more challenging by having things move around as the hero walks, I like that subtle touch. I would like to be able to hit the peak button or something like it to see more hero action and see how the item I chose helped him or not but I guess that keeps the spot light on the backpack...where it belongs ;)
There's an updated version of the game (v1.2) available on Google Play! Thank you so much for all your feedback. We've fixed a lot of bugs, improved the physics a lot (in our own, humble opinion) and we've integrated Unity Analytics to support enhancing and balancing the gameplay even more. Please follow the link on this game page to the Google Play page and have fun! :)
