I really liked this game! The transitions look really nice! The rate of play goes so fast hahah I tried to keep up but I would get arthritis or something hahahahahaa! I think this is a really fun game, and I think you hit a home run with this this submission! Great work, and I hope to see you in the next jam!

Reminds me of Viruses in the Mid 2000's. There was a sense of pageantry when your computer got infected, none of this modern "secretly mine cryptocurrency and avoid detection". Back then it was all about shovelling as much crap onto the infected computer as possible. I didn't think I'd get nostalgic playing this, but it happened! Great entry!

kassjak 2018-08-14 07:15

@beanslasher Thank you so much for those kind words! It's great to hear that you liked the game!

kassjak 2018-08-14 07:17

@sauski Thank you so much!

First match I got completely overwhelmed, but the second time I nicely used my folders and eventually I managed to get more space available than the size of the harddrive (-60mb/500mb). I did really have fun though, with a few minor changes this could be very entertaining! Very well done!

kassjak 2018-08-14 10:08

@hare-software Hehe, I'm gonna have to fix that bug

badduck 2018-08-14 10:54

Awesome game!! Gets a bit repetitive, and the music also cut out after a while. Nicely done!!

kassjak 2018-08-14 11:04

@badduck I thought the new version fixed that bug, we'll try to fix it as fast as possible. But thanks for the positive feedback!

Edit: It has been fixed, thank you for the bug report

Very nice play style, I enjoyed it very much and smooth transitions!

ursagames 2018-08-17 10:23

The balancing felt a little off, but all of the mechanics were really solid. I loved the idea of grabbing a folder to sweep up stuff, but it definitely felt a bit unbalanced. It would be cool if there was maybe things you didn't want to delete that would pop in, so you had to be more careful and maybe drag things around to organize your desktop. Thanks for sharing the game with my stream, I had a blast playing it!

sciman101 2018-08-17 14:14

Fun game, the transitions were nice, and the UI as a whole felt pretty clean. It got kinda overwhelming after a bit, though.

very nice game :D I really enjoyed

What's Good

- **Bluescreen** awesome - I like the **music**

What could be better

- Cleaner, Defragmenter had **no effect** (probably a bug). - Progress bars hard to see (because of **low contrast**). - **Camera rotation** is overused and a bit too much. Maybe use a more subtle effect for transitions. - **Tutorial descriptions** are cut on some items.

I liked the idea of a file type hierarchie (e.g. zip can contain folders etc.). Some indicator when a zip file reached max size might be interesting.

Generally I think this is a solid entry with an unusual idea. The gameplay needs some tweaks to stay fresh though.

kassjak 2018-08-18 16:39

@anudin Thank you so much for the feedback! The no effect on the cleaner and defragmenter is definitely a bug, which we'll try to fix as soon as we can. Will definitely change the camera transitions so it wouldn't be just one camera rotation. We'll see what we can do with the tutorial description.

Your criticism means a lot for changing the game and making it better, thank you again!

anudin 2018-08-18 16:46

@kassjak Glad to help. even though I have the feeling that the quality of feedback gets better from LD to LD I think there's still huge room for improvement. Better feedback gets us better games! People: dare to criticise and write more than "I liked it.". You'll get way more karma like that anyways.

adonisdevs 2018-08-18 19:46

This game is really cool! One suggestion I would make is that you should change the difficulty curve. I found all the difficulties way too easy and the game seemed to be going on forever without any action. The fake anti-virus is the only way I lost, and that was because I was curios what it would do to the computer, haha. Overall, this is a solid entry for Ludum Dare - and a fun one at that :)

kassjak 2018-08-18 20:21

@adonisdevs Thank you very much for your feedback! We have changed some settings for the game to be harder by its difficulty.

justinmullin 2018-08-18 20:53

This is really cool! I didn't initially realize that zips and folders could just be dragged over other files to pick them up, but once I'd figured that out it got really fun. Difficulty takes a little while to ramp up, but wow does it get hard if you let it run! The only minor issue I had was that the trash bin / cleaner / defrag were slightly off the left of my screen - close enough I could see and read them, just partially covered. Other than that everything worked as described, and was really smooth. Neat design, and quite fun! I really loved the blue screen, too, it's a cool glitch-out effect.

kassjak 2018-08-18 20:54

@justinmullin Thank you so much, man!

carlos-giraldo 2018-08-18 21:22

Pretty cool idea, a little easy but that just takes some balancing passes to fix. Liked the concept of folders. Pretty cool blue-screen too

c0nst4ntin 2018-08-18 22:20

Nice interpretation of the Theme, I liked the Graphics. Overall nice Game!

rother-games 2018-08-18 22:51

Very well made graphics. After some time with one new file every second suddenly there spawned hundreds of files in very few seconds and I lost without any chance

crazyd 2018-08-19 01:56

Great take on the theme. Evast - love it! Liked the graphics. Is there a way to win or is it just to see how long you can survive? I ran the cleaner almost 9 minutes in and then didn't get any other files -- I guess I won!!! ;) One thing with the graphics, they're great, but due to the colors, I had a hard time seeing the text in the upper right corner.

arcus 2018-08-19 08:24

It should speed up after a while.

kassjak 2018-08-19 08:29

@arcus I'm guessing you're talking about the file spawning. It actually does. If you want to play a quick game, then you should play hard mode because it has a faster spawn rate.

arcus 2018-08-19 08:42

@kassjak Oh, well done then.

kr4ft3r 2018-08-21 15:20

Congrats on coming up with such interesting concept and making it happen. Looks good as well. Nice touch adding difficulty choice, even though it's just a number representing space.
