This is a neat game, it's impressive that you did it by yourself. Congratulations! Feel free to give my group's game a play! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/elite-beat-zombygons

Have no idea what I'm doing :( Loved the music, though. Congrats on the game!

Nice music, good art and fun idea. Very well done!

team-orange-pop 2018-04-24 22:15

Lots of fun. Wish the baddies hurt you.

Nice mash-up, audio and presentation. I wish my clicks would be just a little more responsive so I'd understand if I was moving the camera or spreading my roots :)

Nice game but I had some trouble with getting the resources I wanted. Especially getting more suns. I was mostly just hammering E to get enough resources since there didn't seem to be anything bad happening to you anyway. Could use some balancing but I enjoyed the art and music and had a relaxed time :)

autumnotopia 2018-04-25 08:39

I liked how little pressure there was, I feel like for a gardening game it's very fitting haha. It gets repetitive eventually, but for a jam game it's pretty impressive how long I stayed invested.

justalocalhero 2018-04-25 19:19

@Badical Ahh, sorry it wasn't more clear. Glad you liked the music at least

justalocalhero 2018-04-25 19:20

@DangerousFat Thanks. I had a lot of fun wearing different hats

justalocalhero 2018-04-25 19:22

@Team Orange Pop Yeah. Probably would be an improvement. I was a bit worried about not being able to balance in time and locking players out. Should have added at least a bit of danger though.

justalocalhero 2018-04-25 19:23

@Poorwill no doubt. I had a few other bits of feedback in mind that I just completely whiffed on at crunch time.

justalocalhero 2018-04-25 19:26

@Sibi I probably should have given some more thought to resource costs. I'm glad you enjoyed some of the aesthetics.

justalocalhero 2018-04-25 19:28

@Autumnotopia I'm glad you enjoyed it. No doubt there could have been more varied content. I did want there to be a pretty relaxed pace. I'm glad you got a fair bit of gameplay out of it.

hpmnk 2018-04-26 00:02

I thought it was a bit rigid at first, but then i saw you did it all by yourself , so congratulations for the effort. I love the idea of having "war fogs", not usual in games like that. I raised up my vote by 1 point, for the work : D

justalocalhero 2018-04-26 00:48

@HPMNK Just wait till you play the sequel "Frogs of War." That'll really impress you. Kidding aside, thanks for the feedback. There are a lot of improvements I would have liked to get to.

martintristan 2018-04-26 01:36

a simple tutorial would be really helpful. i was confused on what to do until i noticed that your resources goes up when you end your turn. but overall, great job!

maduke 2018-04-26 04:33

Pretty interesting and relaxing little farming simulator you have going here. Not much to do objective wise, but otherwise plays well.

kovakomes 2018-04-26 09:34

My sunflower empire rules over all! Muahahahahaha! Oh, also, cool game. Well done.

justalocalhero 2018-04-26 19:13

@Kovakomes be a kind overlord please

beebo-studios 2018-05-05 00:12

Nice little game! Visuals and music work quite well :)

It's a bit difficult to keep track of different plants you own. And do the enemies attack/can you actively defend against them or are they just randomly moving?

Apart from that, good entry! :)

justalocalhero 2018-05-07 12:52

@Beebo Studios Quite a lot I didn't get to unfortunately. You can fight against the weeds by building next to them and choking out their resources. The mushrooms will try to spread spores to random tiles within a certain range before dying off.

Had I made it a bit farther, the baddies would have been able to harm you and hamper your resource growth; you would have had defensive growth options.

Thanks for taking the time to play and give feedback.
