edit: we're in business! the new build works, disregard all this vvvv
Enjoyed catching your stream, I commiserated a lot with your atan issue! I loaded up the game and got past the title screen, but it doesn't seem to advance past this initial gameplay screen for me, using either the keyboard controls or a dualshock 4. Seems like the main character isn't here?

Pretty eager to give this a shot though - I love a solid platformer - please @ message me if you upload another build.

@shawn-moore Can you try it again? I think it was a problem with order of execution, I tried forcing it. (You'll need to refresh your browser's cache with ctrl+f5 or use a different browser)

Had a lot of fun with the game, it was pretty tough to beat. The gameplay feels nice and snappy and it always feels like you're in full control of where you're going, there is a good variety of enemies and obstacles with interesting patterns. My only gripe would the the hitboxes which feel a bit unforgiving in the beginning.
Graphics look cute (though I wish I could zoom in to see things better) and the falling sky and boss are cool as hell. Loved the music too.
I loved the physics, I know Alex use a lot of formulas to achieve this kind of platformer and not just adding force or modifying velocity lol. I just beat the game, it was pretty fun. I wish there were more levels. Also, the soundtrack rocks.
The game is hard and fun. Movement is smooth and the death is fast!

This game!!!! one of my fave so far, i played this on a stream and the creator watched and im pretty sure he was laughing menacingly. this is a purposly hard game and it is very well polished. has some humor behind it and has a lot of mechanics in it that were executed very well.

Played your game last jam along with playing melee I think with you also on stream. Another great entry with a hard platformer. Thank god for generous checkpoints and a slow down time. I wish there were more levels than just the 1 as I finished it rather quickly. Improvement for me is the obvious no keyboard controls visual in game, but thats a minor issue. Would have been interesting if your arrows killed yourself but that might make it to hard.

@alexrose anytime you are down buddy I hope that falco has gotten better.
The music is just great! Very nice controls and art with animations makes the game even more fun) Shouts at the beginning of the game - cherry on top!
Having an infinite slowdown seems too powerful, and the fact that you can spam your arrows makes the boss fight a little bit too easy, but besides that everything was fun and adrenaline-inducing. Wish there was more gore because the soundtrack was so goddamn metal.
Nice game. Controls feel good as always. Challenging but not too punishing thanks to the many checkpoints, and the optional slow-mo helps as well. My biggest complaint would be that it looks kinda boring. I get what you were going for with the grey, but imo it doesn't work. Cool that you have a final boss. Oh and the sky falling particle effect is neat. Good job Alex.

Short and sweet! I think that on the final boss I shoundt be able to shoot his spikes, wouldve been a more interesting and harder fight. Thanks for submitting it! -PomoTheDog
A very satisfying platformer, I appreciated the air dodge mechanic especially. Though I gotta agree that unlimited time slowdown is too overpowered. Sick art and music, also impressed that it transitioned seamlessly and quickly after beating the boss.
I appreciated the unlimited slowdown, else I would probably not have been able to beat the game. I am impressed with the fact that you managed to make such a "difficult" platformer game so accessible. There are several things which I will try to remember for the future. A couple of examples being the in game tutorialization, great use of gating the player from continuing before they have understood the concept. The large amount of checkpoints helped make each death less frustrating.
Like always, your entries have great assets, lots of humor and overall polish. Though I will say that I miss Rude bear, hope to see him soon again :)

very good game! sounds its to heavy rock for me! Art and sound effects are cute. I kill the big eye, nice boss, nice mechanics and animations, congrats! Came from your stream, Im ary o/
This is fantastic! I enjoyed the silly concept and the execution was superb. I cannot think of many things to critique so I'm going to have to get nitpicky. In the controls there was the line "Shift = Airdodge + Wavedash (Dodge diagonally down at the floor after jumping)" which I could not get to function. It was fine though because I didn't need it. I didn't like how enemies didn't reset after deaths, I feel that would have given the game some more challenge, which I would have enjoyed. If I can get really nitpicky, the enemies death animation wasn't slowed down when in slow mode, which it probably should have been. Other than those very small issues, I love everything about this game. Great job!

Only complaint was the ear shattering splash screen. Everything else was top notch and beatifully put together. Music and art are great, and the controls felt good, but not quite perfect imo (don't know what I'd change tbh). Didn't notice the slowdown, but the game was pretty beatable without it. Would have played more, and might have appreciated some more difficulty for this kind of game. A no checkpoint mode could be very enjoyable here given that the game is pretty short. Would love to see what you could've done with this in a week or month :)
Music is fantastic! I really loved it. Graphics are also great and the whole mostly-black-and-white aesthetics is very pleasing.
"C" for time slowing felt uncomfortable to me. Personally, I think something like "E" or "Q" would be better. But that's just a minor nitpick. The game plays very well, controls are tight and responsive. And I was very happy that there were abundant checkpoints. I also liked how the arrows kept bouncing around after being shot.
The game completely crashed on me after I defeated the boss. One minute I was standing there, and the other just puff. Or was that just a way to say "The End" ;)?

@fabula-rasa haha, yeah, a trademark of my games is that they insta close themselves after you win so you can get back to your life lol

@jack-b-music wavedashing is an advanced technique from super smash bros melee. it's not an intuitive or easy thing to do, I just couldn't resist adding it lol, it takes a couple of days of grinding to learn how to wavedash so I wouldn't expect anyone to do it just for this game, I just added it in case anyone is really into platformers and already knows how https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EcPgWGiEhk

This was an excellent entry ! Well done !
really nice art and audio. controls were really responsives once used to it (but putting the in game tutorial for controllers can be kinda disturbing, I kept mashing b on my keyboard in order to slow time but its not a big deal).
Only downside imo is that the checkpoints just respawn you when you die but do not reset the room: its not a big deal during the 1st half of the game but, once you unlock the weapon, it simplify the game a bit too much as you can just take jumps to kill enemies and, once cleared, go to the next CP (but I am also thankful it was here, otherwise I would not have been able to beat the game)
great entry overall, I had a fun time playing it
I love graphics style
I like what you have going on here especially the versatile control schemes for this game
The game felt great to play and the art was fantastic! The game was tough but I really enjoyed it nice work!
Finally getting my rating in with 30 mins to spare!
This was super fun and I can't imagine anyone not playing to the end. The most obvious weirdness is that the rooms don't reset but that actually makes things easier for the player later on and ensure pretty much everyone can complete it. I think that's pretty cool. It also has a really great progression from impossible difficulty to something a bit easier where you have weapons and can stomp anything in your path. Normally games try to get harder towards but the end, but this way really sells the power fantasy in just a few minutes, which AAA games try to deliver in 20+ hours.
Biggest negative for me was how the double jump and dash were effectively the same thing, platforming wise. The double jump was a bit longer and had a weird up angle to it (which might be to catch a ledge like pressing triangle in Spyro? but more often than not it ran you into an enemy or spikes and killed you). So I stuck to the dash for most everything. The boss had really awesome design but was too trivial. You didn't have to jump anywhere to dodge the spikes or hit the eye, so you could just hang out at the bottom.
