jenelynnn! HELP!
Very cool idea! Hadn’t thought about that! hehe :P :top:
@johnnyginard my server is broken and no one has managed to download my game, 0 downloads in my sql database, and yet 3 people have rated it and you have commented, clearly without playing the game
finally its up! im looking forward to playing it, and i dont even know what its about!
EDIT: ok, i was expecting a platformer... but still, the art style was great, and its impressive you were able to make that many art assets in only 3 days! voice acting was cool, dont see that in many games
@shieldgenerator7 sorry for the trouble, glad you played the game. Easy for me to quickly sketch cartoon doodles and 1st day nothing happens on art department! Can't wait for the next LDJAM :) Thanks
@shieldgenerator7 only 20% of rude bear games are platformers lol
I don't seem to be able to move, input doesn't seem to be configured in the Unity Configuration Panel.
@occultone click the mouse, it's the first thing in the readme, there are no input axes intentionally.
I did. No dice. First thing I checked was the readme when nothing worked.
I love when your games are exceedingly British and this one is definitely the most. All the voice acting was amazing and I truly hated Rad Boar Jr by the end, but Atmos' audio was definitely the standout. Probably the most impressive thing is how everything came together so seamlessly to become much more than the sum of its parts. The art and the cutscene/event system made the game feel really substantial and big. I did get the true ending first try though without any trouble so it feels too simple/easy. I wish there were more rooms or variety of events (vast majority was just answering no to answers). But I can imagine it would suck to replay it since almost all of it is waiting, so it's not like I would've replayed it anyways. I can tell there is some dialogue that you get when you answer yes to the events though, so I really want to see those. But not enough to replay the game X times.
Also I only just noticed the #1 Humour medal... too bad there's no medal with that spelling
Ha I loved this game! Good stuff man. The voice acting was hilarious. Definitely gonna check out some more Rude Bear games
Hey @alexrose It was kinda unique game and experience. I had to restart a few times in trying to check out that Steam key the game offered. Too bad it was taken and activated already. So if somebody tells you that noone is going to play your games more than once that's just bullshit. I did.
You've done a great job guys. It was very fun. Sense of humour that i really really like and enjoy. I would give you a gold medal for that if I could.
Art is very nice and neat. Sounds and music are also cool. All in all this is a perfect entry for the Ludum Dare.
P.S. Also it was great to see you doing it here. We've met last month on DevGamm conference in Minsk and played at the same table on poker tournament. I was the one to leave our table first and gave you a free drink coupon while i was gone. Greetings. Keep up the good work!
@occultone wtf? the game just uses Input.GetMouseButton(0). Do you have Unity? And if so, when you do that, does it work? The input axes are irrelevant to input.getmousebutton, do you have some strange setup, like two mice or multiple human interface devices or something?
@foolmoron I just wanna bask in the audio credit too, I made the outside ambient sound, the car noise, helicopter noise, the mixtape, the 3 footstep types, the doorknock, the TV advert, the news report, the sacrificial altar sounds and the implementation
Atmos made the music (radio beat and sacrificial song + growls)
Sheep did the vocals for the news anchors
Barney did the vocals for the kid, made the "bad mixtape" beat.
I did the vocals for the TV ads and painting and the singing for the latin chant.
"MAKE SURE YOU DON'T SACRIFICE MY SON.txt"
Haha, that's one way to get me to read a README.txt
"Make sure you don't sacrifice my son" so I immediately sell him for briefcase full of meat.
This is hilarious.
The invisible walls were a little bit jarring, though.
That was fun to play, good job!
@alexrose : Drawing Tablet! The game was reading input from the drawing tablet instead of the mouse. Very weird.
@occultone hahaha, that'll do it. Glad it's solved!
Nice work! this one is ALL about the audio :D another classic RB game to add to the list.
I really like the Sounds ingame. The Graphics looking cool and clear and the Gameplay is good to handle. Good Work!
audio voice acting 5/5 this was unlike anything I have played in ludum dare and I have participated and rated games in 8 ludum dare jams now. Art is fantastic too, it really ticks all the boxes with the categories. Well done.
I have played your games since LD30 and time after time you create super impressive games, but this one might be one of my favorites. The writing is hilarious, the voice-acting is a fantastic touch and the entire premise is just as silly as I have come to expect from you
I did pretty well, I resisted the temptation to trade the kid for a bunch of meat and eternal power, but the clown got me. I will be giving it another go and try to see if you can actually manage to not lose to him.
Visually this game is super awesome, it has a unique style that and everything just fits, from audio to visuals to story.
Your game was played on my stream ( https://www.twitch.tv/ursagames/videos ) on the fifth day of Ludum Dare streams. Thank you for sharing your game with us! You can find the timestamp of when your game was played here: https://goo.gl/N2rkr8
hahahaha this is really funny, also, great animations man! The voice over is incredible as well!
@ursagames Hahaha, thanks a lot man, just watched your play. Looks like I left a glitch when you give him back to The Wizard, whoops lol. The "true ending" is if you reject the wizard too lol.
@simon-rahnasto Thanks a lot for the kind comment, means a lot.
Also thanks @fattori and @digitaldude555, I'll get around to playing your games this weekend.
It's great to play a game with voice acting! Also, I love the art style and whimsical humour!
There were a few issues with sorting order when I was moving rude bear around, particularly in the kitchen.
Overall a lot of fun! :bear:
I had a lot of fun playing this, good job! The multiple endings made it almost worth playing over and over again to read all of the dialogue lines. The humor in this game is top notch! EDIT: Made it to the "true ending" too ;)
Wow, what a strange game. While the subject matter is fitting to the theme, how many people wanted your kids was downright hilarious! The wizard must be quite the celebrity. The pineapple on pizza was hilarious. The non-clear borders of where you could go was both annoying and ok at the same time. Once i realized all you did was point and move your character i was alright. :-)
OH WOW! This game is ridiculous haha And freaking BRILLIANT! I love the crazy level of sequences in this game all with dialogue, crisp audio and stellar art. Excellent job on this!
