Fun, game, though the mouse constantly being visible detracts a little from the visuals and the tutorial is a little too wordy/hard to read.

Good little game, could use a little descriptions on what each upgrade does and there was a little text glitch where the text overlapped for the enemy description. Otherwise, great music and good graphics.
comes at you very fast and is kinda hard to figure stuff out, but really cool. very challenging
Agree with @rosebucket here, the next round comes too quicky giving you too little time to check out the upgrades
I love games with cell themes I'm them, really cool.game!
nice game there! just as said before, there's a glitch with the text of enemies, and wouldn't be bad to put some descriptions on the upgrades! a bit challenging on the first run, but funny to play!
Good game, can be expanded easily! Devs should work on it
Hey awesome little game! I loved the ending!
Nice game, well done! The theme use a bit far fetched :D
Very cool game with a nice and original theme GJ guys :)
Nice game ! Its really fun to play, i liked the whole idea of getting points and upgradeing. Its confusing you dont know what the upgrades do. Also the timing inbetween rounds is a little short, you could make them longer and add a skip button to it, just in case you finish early.
Wow ! It's hard ! I don't understand how the shop works, but I understand how to build walls so I build a wall and the viruses pay for it ^^. I like the game but found it... a little bit creepy. Hopefully the music is cool and broke this strange mood.
Thank you for commetings everyone. i couldn't add anything else, i finished the game in the literal last second altough after the LD i am going to update the game!
@smackmet i will add the skip button for sure! @sir-galloy-de-fierpate the price is below the buttons and just go into the buttons to upgrade it if you have enough DNA (currency) @shaurya-juneja i will :) @118ice i am adding the description to the submission page right now give me a second
Very cute and adorable art! The concept is cool and can be developed upon further!
Looked simple at first, but great concept.
A few spelling mistakes at first so I was worried what the whole game would be like, but that just ment more time was spent on the actual game itself! Great Game!
@moddingmachine yeah i know, i rushed it **ALOT**
Good game, it is fun to play just to see how the next "powers" will behave. Great job.
Haha this is a fun little game for sure. The movement felt surprisingly responsive, I was worried it would feel slow or rubbery but it was actually quite snappy which was great. The double DNA points and cannon upgrades are super powerful, on the last level I literally didn't have to move, the cannon just obliterated everything, which kinda takes the challenge out of the game. Also when I bought the golden heart upgrade I got a GMS crash:
``` ___________________________________________ ############################################################################################ FATAL ERROR in action number 1 of Step Event0 for object oDoctor:
Unable to find any instance for object index '4' name 'oBlackBox' at gml_Object_oDoctor_Step_0 ############################################################################################ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- stack frame is gml_Object_oDoctor_Step_0 (line -1) ```
*This is in the fixed version btw
@brokenmirrormedia fixed it, im so sorry for that... in 2 mins the link should be updated
edit : ludum dare doesn't let me update the link :thinking:
Edit2 : got it! have fun and again im sorry!
@wansou Thanks for the update, I replayed it and the ending I got was great haha, this is a really solid game!
Well, since you have a post-fix version, I probably don't have to bring up the bugs.... This game was pretty fun; quite satisfying to zoop around the map eating viruses and the like! Had to look up what the purchases are; might be a good idea to put down instructions in the starting free-roam area instead of a separate screen on the main menu. All in all, it was a really fun fight, and it was kinda satisfying to be able to buy the cannon and see it shred everything in sight without having to do anything! Also, the ending's hilarious. Good job!
Funny game, I like the idea, I had fun, good work !!
I would recommend uploading your games to itch.io, that way people from outside the jam can find your game as well, and people who liked your great entry can follow you and see what you make in the future. With that out of the way I want to say that I enjoyed this quite a bit, felt well put together and had a nice amount of content, specially powerups. And who doesn't like powerups? :smile:
Not bad. Used to play games like these on various sites. Glad your project came together in the end. It certainly seems challenging getting it all wrapped up by the deadline.
Fun little game, controls took some getting used to! Though would suggest using something less visually busy for the background :)
@simon-rahnasto thanks for the suggestion, i never uploaded on itch.io but i still tried to upload it :) here it is https://wansoupl.itch.io/cell-defense
Pretty cool and fun game! I liked the gameplay a lot, crashing into enemies and the upgrade mechanic are really entertaining. The visuals are a bit so-so, but sufficient. At my first two tries I died really fast, but then got the hang of it and the game actually had a reverse difficulty curve, especially with the overpowered cannons later, but I don't mind at all. The ending was also nice. Overall, enjoyed this and played it for quite some time, good job!
Good twist on tower defense :) A lot of potential with with this theme. Good music.
Sounds for enemies would not hurt) I liked that there is a mini-tutorial in the game!
@ninjacatz oh yeah, i have no program to do any sound effects nor any music, sorry about that :P
@crubeyawne thank you :)
@erkberg thank you for the review :D
Different take on the tower defense genre. At one point I lost 700ish DNA or whatever for seemingly no good reason.
Wow! I love your art style :smile:
Fun game, I like how dynamic your movement speed can be.
I never had to worry about enemy types though. I don't think I even know what most of them do, because the game is a little on the easy side. I know there's descriptions for them, but those were bugged as stated by others, even in the fixed version.
Also you weren't kidding about that cannon being busted, I had a drink while it was going at it and the heart was fine.
This game is amazing. One of the best I played in the jam no dought. So the concept itself It so different and cool. I love the player movement. You can be super fast with no control or very slow with super control it's up for the player to decide. This trade-off creates so many game chooses it is amazing especially with such a simple idea. I love the update, in particular, the placable wall. This gives the player so many optins its really good. I had tremendous fun playing this game congrats.
Solid game! Simple, fun to play, easy to learn. At first it was a little counter-intuitive that you have to hit the bacteria with your cell. Pretty nice progression though!
@arcus Thank you!
@celdur huh, i had no idea that the descriptions were bugged, im sorry about that - i just fixed it, sorry again!
@pedro-rosa Ah thank you :heart:
@anttiviljami thank you for the review!
Please post a web or mac build so more people can play and give feedbacks on your game! :D
Cool game, with great graphics and music and tight controls! I feel like the tutorial text was too long and there was not enough time after beating the waves to choose your upgrade XD
"Impressive game, Very cool concepts. I left wishing that there is more. Had a lot of fun "
@danilo-freire im sorry about that, but GMS2 has alot of version all of them are seperate and there is a version for Web / Mac / Windows / PS4 / Android / Xbox and Linux every single one costs alot, (over 75 Dollars) i could only afford the windows one, maybe in the future i buy a Web one so everyone can play it :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
@kaeveris Thank you for the feedback, i tried to make it really action based, aka not alot of free time for buying upgrades but alot of time fightining the viruses, although i could make it a bit longer in the future :clock3:
@pixamentory Thank you for the feedback, unfortunetly i haven't got time to add more stuff, i literally uploaded this game in the last 30 mins of submission hour, it was fun but stressful :smile:
Pretty fun!
If my health depended on me in this game, I would be screwed! :D I was very bad.
This is our game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/soundscapes
The core Gameplay is solid and a lot of fun. I did not actually get into the different enemy types since I managed to get rid of them all basically the same way - aka squish them with my white blood cell. The walls and canons were interesting, but I did not actually need them. I like making a specific upgrade the goal, makes the player prioritize between saving up for the goal and buying upgrades. I found only one ending. See me sloshing around the white blood cell here: https://youtu.be/hQ0s1gU3lQ4
@marcel-oyuela-bonzani Thank you for the feedback @euler-moises Thanks for the feedback :stuck_out_tongue:
@rialgar Woah, thanks for the vid i really appreaciate it To get the first ending u need to finish the game with a full heart then another ending with half a heart and to get another one, which is the hardest one, you need to get to a **really** high wave, its kind of hard
thanks for the feedback :smiley:
Perfect and fun game but my eyes were bleeding from the background
