Good entry. One thing I found is that after you get the "gas low" message it's quite difficult to get the fuel to it's previous level. It would also be quite good if you had some sort of visual indicator for it

@dock-frankenstein There is indication of fuel level, it is colour of the exhaust smoke. I will update this page to lessen confusion. I guess we should have put instructions in game though.
I just had to play when I saw your cover! I really like the idea of the smoke indicator instead of a UI element.
Yey! Post-Apocalypse bulldozer battle! This must have been number one if there was In-Game UI. That is the only defect. All other is near perfect.
@senso @metagen Always nice to have two complete opposite comments about our design decisions. Glad you both like the game though.
Interfaceless design is likely to stay though, even if it is bit controversial move. Prefer to keep my screen uncluttered.
Good game! I just had some issue with controls, but it's not a problem at all. Loved the graphics.
Nice one, the style reminds me a lot of some older PC games. Also to take part on the UI discussion, I also like the interfaceless design.
PS. Hyvän nimen keksitte
Has same vibes than Earn to Die -games, which I played a lot as a child for reasons unknown. Good job, I'm proud of you
Love the style and art you've gone for. Reminds me of metal slug. Only thing I found annoying was the camera. It's a bit too snappy and disorientating for my liking.
The crunchy sounds and Snes micromachines style is really sick. Gameplay feels really responsive and overall i really enjoyed it. great job! I did feel a bit disorientated sometimes with how snappy the camera was but I might just be to close to the screen lol.
这个美术风格我超喜欢的,就是镜头有点混乱
@binayas @dorren @bucharlardy Can you elaborate what exactly makes camera feel weird?
Cool retro visuals, had a bit of hard time understanding what going on as there's no health/fuel bars, just voiceovers. Really liked the feel however, fun game. xd.png
I'm not sure how well I did
Edit: right should've read `EXHAUST SMOKE: Colour of smoke is indication of your FUEL LEVEL.`
@merdeboi Little bit above average what I have seen. My personal best is bit under 300, Tutti-Ankka claims he can play it endlessly.
Here is a run I did if anyone wants to try and beat it. Don't ask how I managed to get that exact number.. highscore.png
I wasn't very good at this game (best score 81) but enjoyed it nonetheless. Nice visuals too. Personally, would've liked that the pickups were more noticable (maybe something like an outline or flashing?). I didn't even realize on my first few playthroughs that the white stick-like things were guns that could be picked up. All-in-all, great job on the game and congrats on submission!
I enjoyed the game but it feels like you can have a game over too quickly and you can't really enjoy it. The music is nice and the sfx and voice lines are too. I like the art as well, I always enjoy some 16 bits graphics !
At first I wasn't really sure what was the link with the theme but I realised the limited space was the fuel space in the tank (I guess that's it, at least).
Keep up the good work
Quite a fun game. As others have pointed out, it would have been good to see a visual indicator of how much gas is left.
Very fun. I gave full marks to the sound because the bass melody is fantastic and the sounds are ok. Fun scored high too. But regarding the theme, I didn't find the space limited enough. Overall I gave high marks here, although I didn't make much progress, I shot and ran over some cars insanely for a while, it was fun
Soundscape is okay. The gas seemed to be quite rare find. Good entry in general. Keep up improving this! Thumbs up for the game title! :thumbsup_tone1:
This is a very fun one! Got only to a hundred score
Loved the stylish vehicle designs!
Fun game, though I felt it ended a bit too quickly. Bonus points for excellent name c128357156f24b18838decfc41e5572f.jpg
Good game, very interested the idea of the smoke i like the visual of vehicle
Make the camera a little calmer, it's a little too angry Good job team
@jormarysky in reply to what makes the camera feel weird, I think it needs a lerp or some kind of smoothing so its not to snappy. just something to soften it when quickly turning.
Very cool mood and graphics, the sound and gameplay act well together too to create this retro, mad maxy vibe!
因为你镜头旋转的支点不在车身上,游戏中又需要频繁转动方向,而我的视觉焦点容易放在我自己的车上,这样就导致眼球要随着镜头不断的转动,很不舒服
@dorren @bucharlardy Thank you for your feedback. We will try to implement some kind of camera smoothing, so we can keep slight camera offset but lessen snappy feeling it causes.
In the end it is still very 16-bitty game by design, so modern smoothness is not even target. Some happy medium rather would be nice to find.

I love the pixel art in this game! So beautiful
Very dynamic retro style game, I like that kind of thing!)
Super crunchy and retro! I loved the "Mad Max" vibes it gave me. The sound effects you recorded were hilarious. I imagine you put them in as placeholders, which is smart to have something rather than nothing, and never got around to replacing them. Or maybe that was the vibe you were going for! Either way, they were great.
It was a lot of fun driving around the barren landscape, punting enemies, collecting parts and gas, and then finally getting a gun and pummeling them. Something that could have helped the great gameplay was an indication of your current stats: how much fuel remaining, at least. I had to guess by the audio cues, but it made it harder to be prepared (and hunt for gas versus enemies, for example).
Thanks for a great submission!
NAILED the aesthetic, great job. The cover art, the slapping music, and those beautiful in-game sprites and backgrounds are all really nice.
Gameplay controls felt solid, and it was nice that I could kill by either ramming or shooting. I think I must have missed how to loop into enough gas to keep the game going. My games often felt like they ended suddenly... even the game where I thought, wow, I am getting so much gas this time, I will live forev-GAMEOVER?!
It didn't matter that much though, because I could just hop back into the fray and keep fighting. I really did wish that I could just restart with the keyboard, and not have to switch over to use the mouse to click through multiple menu screens in this keyboard-only game. I probably would have played twice as long if I could just hit R to restart a new round instantly after viewing my gameover/score. It sounds like a small thing, but I was dying a LOT so I guess that restart loop really impacted me a lot more than the dev getting 666 points! ;)
Overall very nice job. Super impressed by the polish and variety of features here.
@pkenney I think those abruptly ending runs were because we dont have enough feedback for getting hit. Those bullets cause some serious fuel leaks, compared to normal fuel consumption which is not that high. We will implement some damage flash to post jam version and make fuel indicator smoke bigger and more readable.
Faster reload is good suggestions, I agree it needs that (I can't survive too long either)
Awesome retro feel to the game. Love the voice acting and the game overall is great. Only thing I hoped for was more bullets.. Upea peli
