Something strange with the hit zone. Looks like it's shifted to the right:

If you get the hang of it, it turns out well.

I love rhythm games with a passion so I was really excited to see one made for this jam when I wasn't expecting it at all, I had to get used to the timing of the notes since sometimes they would miss even though they were in the right spot but after you get the hang of it with the timing it's really easy and fun, I do feel like the background change for when you miss a note is a little much because it distracted me quite a lot and made me fail more times than I could count, maybe play a buzz sound or something to indicate you missed a note instead of a complete background change that way you can focus on the notes instead, other than that this was a really fun rhythm game, I loved the background art with the characters dancing when you get a note right. Good submission!
That was a fun take on the theme! I really liked the characters and the music was catchy.
The graphics is hilarious. I like the drawing of this character. Also like the mechanics, which fits the limited space so much.
The whole vibe is bizarre but comical, and I would say open to the interpretation, as any philosophical rhythm game should be. Music matches the atmosphere, although it looks like some hit zones are smaller or just displaced, so as in life, there are things out of your control. I had fun playing it, it's captivating.
I had some problems with dots without space between them, hit zone seemed very strange there. But audio and graphics of the game are solid.
Really nice game with a catchy song. It felt like you had to hit the notes a bit early though.
That was quite an interesting and unlimiting experience with catchy tunes ;) I really struggeled with the timing however, until I saw the first comment. Had to put my finger on the screen to mark the real hitbox, to not get distracted. Afetr that I managed to beat the game. Other than that, nice job!
Beautiful and fun game !
A bit difficult to get in the game at first (level 1 is a bit too hard), but once you do a great vibe emerges. The uplifting music and animated background creates an immersive, almost trans-inducing experience.
if you add some new levels, it could be a great guitar-hero style minigame.
Cool game, cool assets, good job !
Funny game! I really wanted to look at the drawing in the background, but I couldn’t be distracted from the rhythm. The mood was spoiled only by the moving impact zone.
Nice game. It might be the case that the hitbox is a little off. I ended up missing notes (particularly the first in a group) when they were clearly in the visual hitbox.
The soudtrack is kinda catchy. The hitbox for the balls appears to be a bit off to the right which caused some confusion. Neat little game. Limiting the game to the spacebar is a good take on the theme.
Thanks all for the comments! I swear that capture trigger even bigger than required so it's unknown mysteries why it does not work as expected.
Anyway i will not edit anything in soul of Ludum Dare let it be history.

Unique game i have to say. It's really goofy and great to see games with simple controls. Had some problem with the hitbox of the circle but managed to get pretty far in the music. Good job
great game! I like this cozy music. It is in the process of playing that I found that when I pressed the space continuously, I could not get timely feedback. And the only thing that's not very friendly to newbies is that I lose health when I touch a space by mistake. It's kinda hard for the first level. But the game's overall interaction is simple and easy, and the music is nice and rhythmic. I love it!
I love it its really fun

Great game, but quite difficult, took a few tries. Lovely sounds and graphics, but the area still indeed seems to be very much in front of the hole. Couldn't focus too much on the scene as I was busy watching the balls.
one of a few game i need to put some effort to play to the end on this jam! the music is really good and very nice graphics. however in stage 3 the hit zone is pretty weird and i need to replay a lot to win the game. overall nice game!
Great shame the playable 'notes' don't match well with the actual soundtrack, because there are nice beats going down. If it helps anyone, try to hit the note just before it enters the target, rather than when it's reached the center. Counterintuitive and hard to track alongside the rhythm.
A refreshingly simple yet immensely addictive game! It involves merely pressing the spacebar and maintaining the rhythm. The music is stellar and complements the game’s drums perfectly. The character designs are exceptional and bestow the game with a unique style! Fantastic entry!
This game has a lot of style! As others have said, the fast group of three notes has wonky timing. Since you had to compensate and anticipate the note, it would help if there were a guide showing where the beat falls. The fast notes at the beginning didn't seem to have a musical representation, which also added to the difficulty of landing them. When the background switched to the monkey with cymbals, the bassline plays the fast rhythm, so it's much easy to get the right feel.
I didn't finish the game, but the music was nice and if the timing issue is worked out, then it's pretty much perfect!
Pretty fun, I wanted to enjoy the graphics more but I was focusing on the dots so I couldn't, could have probably left some more space in between  .
The visuals are cute, I really like the different animations for hitting/missing a note
From what I can tell, the timing issues aren't actually because of the hitbox itself, it seems very forgiving
I would guess it's because the hit detection system is just snapping to the *closest* note instead of the *first* note
So if there's a burst of three, if you're even slightly to the left it'll snap straight to the second note, and forget about the first one entirely
Okay. I feel bad for several days for all of you that could not experience the GREATNESS. And i've made bugfixed build.
You could play it and score game based on jam version. Because jam version still accessible too.
No changes except a bit fixed trigger.
Loved it, so fun and I would play it again for those songs again. The backgrounds were so funny too! The only complaint is that I finished it without losing any lives, maybe that isn't a you problem and I was just good at it  . Great jam!
This is a neat little rhythm game! It's shorter than I was expecting, but I burned through almost all my lives on the final level so I guess that's a good thing? The music is good, and the background graphics were quite entertaining. Good job!
Ha a rhythm game - didn't expect that in a jam game. The music and background a neat and stylish, and a good amount of silly! Would have loved to do a bit more than the given songs. Perhaps just speeding up (ever more) the existing songs would have been a fun idea?
Regardless, well done, I had fun smashing heads with spacebars.
Congrats, getting a rhythm game is difficult especially in a short time frame but this was fun and looked really neat. Well done!
U rappin' Cool!
Yesssss...

This was trippy, I enjoyed it. The lizard stage was my favorite. Nice work!
