great idea, good job and keep going!
The game looks interesting (and impressive for a solo developer). Sadly, I can’t play it since I’m on Linux (and a potato PC ), and it won’t launch. I assume it’s too much hassle to make a Linux version, right?
@yancharkin To be honest, I haven't tried creating builds in Linux. I will try to learn more about how to do that. I wonder if it's difficult myself. :) However, I do know that my game has been run once on Ubuntu 24.04.1 using Proton 8 and Lutris.
Really impressive game for a solo effort in just three days.
Brave to develop an RPG game for a game jam! I'm glad you took the chance to do it. 😉 I like that you added some story, and the general art style looks good. With a bit more polishing the game could have a unified look. The giant snails are absolutely funny. Congrats for the project!
Nicely made 3d dungeon crawler. It was trivial to beat though. Ran into a bunch of issues in the jam version but looks like they were all fixed in the update. Some attack effects would be good, the combat felt a bit lacking. Works fine for me in Linux using Wine 8.0 (staging) and dxvk.
Love the idea and the mechanics. Sometimes the mouse disappears when trying to click UI elements
I managed to launch the game using DXVK — it's hit and miss on my potato laptop, and more often miss, but in this case, it actually works.
So here is my review:
You made a 3D RPG that is somewhat functional as a solo developer during a weekend jam. It's an achievement in itself. Congratulations! You are crazy (in a good way)! Obviously, the game is rough around the edges but looks promising. For me, the showstopper was the very long attack recharge. The graphics are charming and have an early PC 3D games vibe, which makes it stand apart from retro pixel art or PSX-style graphics. Overall, good job!
Good job ☺️
Can't believe that it's finished by a solo developer! It's a cute and interesting game, I enjoyed it ;)
