Very nice concept, and well executed, I like it!

macmist 2020-10-06 16:43

Love the idea, graphics are neat, gameplay is smooth, music is on point with the game, very well done! And it's actually not that easy

sinusquell 2020-10-06 16:48

I like how everything comes together here. Sound, Visuals, Gameplay. This is a Good one :)

jesus-gonzalez 2020-10-06 16:49

I really the concept, atmosphere, music and gameplay. Except for it taking you back when losing and making it harder each time by accelerating the enemy, that only made it punishing and frustrating. Still, 4/5.

feraligatr 2020-10-06 16:49

Nice implementation of a loop and a well thought concept. Graphics are good and represent the concept well

loig 2020-10-06 16:51

Nice graphics and nice game idea. Not easy indeed.

wevel 2020-10-06 16:51

Love the idea, it's a really cool take on the theme. I felt that some of the movement was a bit fast, and also there was a jump on the second level which I got a bit stuck on.

hungrycatgames 2020-10-06 16:54

Nicely done! Including the programming twist for the mechanic adds a nice touch.

ditam 2020-10-06 16:55

Lovely game! I was initially afraid of seeing all these programming themed games, but this one shows that the theme (even taken literally) does not have to be a gimmick, it can be the foundation for a solid puzzle-platformer, congrats!

And thanks for including a HTML5 badge in the cover image. It's a small touch, but I'm hunting for these games every jam, and the website does not help in finding them. (Also, it reminded me that I didn't properly set a cover image for my game, eh.)

quinn-patrick 2020-10-06 16:56

The concept, visuals, and audio are all solid, so good job there. I was quite bothered by the platforming. I found myself getting caught on walls a lot, and as far as I could tell the big jump on the second level was impossible. Also, once when I died, after respawning I landed on top of the >3 block which left me unable to move.

A brilliant idea for a concept, and the for-loop mechanics were very well executed. However, I felt that the platformer physics were a bit slippery and too tight (a bit more air time maybe?). Also, with all the interesting new mechanics you made, there was little explanation. It felt a bit frustrating on the second level when I just couldn't make the jump. And then I assumed the red square was damaging because when I tried to collect it, I hit the spike. Having said that, it was a clean game with good graphics and a very innovative take on the theme, I personally didn't think anyone would pull off for-loops for their game, but you did! 4 stars innovation, 4.5 stars theme

grenk 2020-10-06 16:58

I like the core concept. The visuals and sound are pretty good. My biggest issue was with the progress loss. Having 2 mechanics that cause the player to replay levels (hitting a spike, as well as the full reset of the loop completing) seemed like too much to me. Pair that with the increase in loop speed after getting sent back a stage, and I ran out of patience really quickly.

mr-forty-two 2020-10-06 16:58

Great game! The graphics are awesome, and the idea is cool. Its very tough though, so I didn't get past level 3. Being sent back to the previous level is quite harsh, and the speeding up means after a certain point it is basically impossible.

dampfwaltze 2020-10-07 14:27

Really great Idea! But Charactermovement was sometimes a bit bad.

rgilpt 2020-10-07 14:41

I like very much the game, the controls are a bit difficult. But I enjoyed the graphics and the idea was very original!

zeu31 2020-10-07 19:08

I really like the concept. But, like the others said, it is a little too punitive. If the punishment were smaller, each individual level could be harder.

slavi 2020-10-07 19:20

Nice game, but cant pass level 3. I slipped every type on the block and fell on spikes... :c But great !

2020-10-07 22:07

I have to agree with others that the character movement could have been better. The idea is superb, and even though I'm sure program loops were in many minds, you have succeeded in turning that thought into a viable game.

mohamedsaid 2020-10-08 19:20

good idea. good mechanics. just need some polishing and in game instructions. nice work.

freso 2020-10-09 07:49

Thanks all for your feedback. We hoped it was self-explainatory, but I guess we should have had a description of the pickups/enemies in the start scene. Very true.

PS. There are 4 levels. Hit 'n' to skip a level if it's too hard. ;)

florianduf 2020-10-09 08:29

The game is very nice. 1. The concept very cool and it's respect the theme ! 2. They are a lot of level and they are interesting.

I found the game a little hard to understand. But it's a normal problem for a Jam (and I am not a good gamer). It's very hard to balance the game and the cheat 'n' key is usefull to explore your game :) I take pleasure to try again and again. This is the most import thing for a video game. Congrats

desertmaw 2020-10-09 09:47

This was actually fun to play. Really enjoyed it. I love the connection you made to programming and the theme, well done.

Funnily I came across this game because we did something similar (Story like). Keep it up :)

daniel-c 2020-10-10 18:06

Quite a fun game, loved the programming loop theme ^^ it was quite difficult with the character movement sometimes, but overall I liked it, great work :)

turkey 2020-10-14 13:48

Cool concept! The movement was a little slow imo though.

100th-coin 2020-10-14 18:07

I think the blue dot sped up way too much near the end of the game. I really like the difficulty, but it became a bit much. Overall, the idea is brilliant, and I love your take on the theme! the little zip sound effects were amazing too! Great job all around!

jesus-gonzalez 2020-10-24 20:00

The HTML5 badge in the game thumbnail is brilliant ;)
