A+++++ voice acting. Fun and funny. I totally missed the "get on the boat" part of the game and sacrificed about a dozen innocent beings on that first island. No regrets.
The first round I walk of the island by mistake since I thought I was going to control the volcano. :smirk: Picking up people was fun. Hearing them say "Oh no" since they knew what was going to happen. :laughing:
The game is really fun and I love the voice acting! But screen shake is a bit too strong, it can be hard to pay attention to what I need to do. Overall, awesome game!
Interesting take on the theme! The ui was a bit messed up for me though, so it was hard for me to tell if I was doing the right thing.
Different game from most I've played, so far. Good first effort. UI seems to be displaying oddly because it is supposed to be in full screen but there is no full screen button on the player. Could do with more of a feel of progression. At this point there are just a handful of identical levels with just a higher sacrifice requirement each time. Variety is the spice of life (but not one of the 13 herbs and spices or so I'm told).
The screen shaking was a lot, but the voice acting was pretty funny. Lol it was a fun play.
The audio on this was impeccable - you nailed the voicing and the sound effects and the mood. it was so good :D I loved that the art was consistent, the game play was easy to understand, and playing was fun :D I will say, it seemed a bit inconsistent on when the volcano exploded vs when it didn't - like the more i sacrificed the more it got angry. I understand i needed to sacrifice a certain number within the time limit, but it felt like all the sacrifices i *did* do weren't being rewarded at all. Seemed like the volcano should have been more appeased the more "oh no!"'s i heard (which were really funny btw. Again - amazing job on the sound effects).
This is an incredible first entry on LD. Really awesome job on making a fully cohesive game with sound, progression, and game play.
Love the intensive atmosphere created by the screenshake! but it also make it really hard to move and grab stuff.
This game is so fun! I love the little sheep noises and the scary volcano, just non-chalant, telling you to head to the next lvl. Great work!
There is not a high enough rating for sound! The sound FX are so GOOD :D the little noises the sacrifices make as you pick them up had me dying :D great game
Aww, those poor creatures ☹️☹️☹️ I think the best part of this was the audio, added to the humour a bunch! I think it's a fairly unique take on the theme, too. The graphics are suitably funny, not sure if the animals jittering around was a bug or part of the unstable? 😅 The way everything shakes after a mistake does make it hard to play, especially if you're susceptible to motion sickness, I think maybe animations on the volcano, some change in the audio, and just some slight rumbling would've been enough to signal the danger. Gets pretty hard as it ramps up. Simple gameplay but kind of fun!
Great entry. The sound effects were great. Was enjoyable to play, but that screen shake is real near the end haha.
Congrats on your first gamejam! Game is fun, drums are fun and voice acting is top notch.
