I didn't really understand how many cages I had. I did like how you incorporated the theme though.

Interesting concept! I made a good many sky dollars on my growing platform. Interesting idea. I had some interface problems at first, buying pods and then dropping them immediately from the menu area. I wasn't totally sure if the weight of my pods was what was making the platform tip - I assume so, but it got pretty out of whack sometimes when I thought it was balanced. I liked the shadow graphics and the overall style.
I had fun playing. It feels much easier to use the low-cost cages and just spam them as much as I can to keep the balance. I never messed with anything higher because my low-cost cages were growing money so quick lol.
If the game was split up into levels with money amount objectives, that would have been the icing on the cake.
Good work, and a great submission!
Very fun!
Very innovative. Adding the balance adds a lot more complexity to a fairly normal archetype.
Fun and addicting game, nice take on the theme!
Ooh, physics based idle game? That's sort of what this felt like at first. Incremental upgrades and income. I usually like this sort of thing, so you have my attention!
I was a little lost at what my goal was other than to 'make money' which made things feel a little aimless. That's usually a conceit of traditional idle/incremental games though. It took me far too long to realize there were upgrades unfortunately. I think putting some label or text on that would help a ton.
And I know you didn't implement audio, but the overall experience is brought down a lot by this. Even a simple click sound for feedback or a light music track behind it all would have enhanced this a lot. Once you're comfortable implementing audio, setting up something super basic should be quick and simple.
The core design is solid, I just would have liked to see a little more focus on directing the player towards a goal.
Great job on completing this AND working a weekend job. I hope you're still catching up on sleep! Congrats :)
@harrison-dunn Thanks for the feedback, I agree I should have added sound and definitely some sort of goal. Originally I intended to add more content to make up for the lack of a goal but yeah that obviously didn't occur. I will update the game once the jam period ends and take these criticisms into account. Also, I did try and get some sleep but I still felt like a zombie for a couple of days lol.
Fun concept and well implemented. Enjoyed this one. As others have mentioned there is no sound but still the implementation of the idea is very good.
Nice take on the theme!
I was able to place a plant behind the menu and couldn't collect the money. Nice variation for a clicker game.
Very cool game! Nice take on the theme. I went for a banana strategy and had it in a stable equilibrium at about 10 banana plants. Then I got greedy for more profits and everything collapsed. Lessons to be learned :D. Cool concept and nice execution!
@xeke-death That's a bug that I've found myself and fixed in the unity project already. This was my first Ludum jam though so I wasn't sure if I was allowed to make any changes after publishing the game and thus the bug remains on the itch build. Still, thank you for bringing it to my attention. If you or anyone else finds anything else that's buggy I would appreciate having it pointed out.
The game is so simple and so great! It was really cool to play it. It would be great to show to player maximum count of capsules placed on platform during the session.
One of the nicest stacking games I've seen. It's pretty easy though. At some point the platform grew out of proportions and you cannot collect money from the plants on the right. The smaller plants do not seem very useful, I skipped to the bananas very quickly. It would be nice to have more expensive plant types, so you get this exponential growth effect.
Some nice cookie clicker vibes :v:
Simple and addictive gameplay, well suited to the theme. This game reminded me of how I planted sunflowers in plants vs zombies :) I hope you take the time to complete this game and add whatever you have in mind to it. I would play this version. Added to favorites on itch.io
A fun and novel incremental game, even with only 3 types of objects it's pretty fun, i wonder how far you could push this idea
@goddoesplaydice That's the plan, thanks for holding my game in such high regard.
@roboolet Already added some new plants and other small fixes, it's too bad I can't update my entry. Making more plants is pretty simple since I used scriptable objects. Now if only making the art could be as fast and easy... PotatoCapsule.png
Well done! Very good fit with the theme and game mechanics seems fun
Graphics seems minimalistic but just right to use with the mechanics
This is super awesome. Really well done - very fun game :) Even without extra features, just as is, this game is really fun.
I think the challenge is lost if i can make a profit without need to risk an imbalance of adding more plants. Because i was able to collect without adding too many more, it resulted in a bit of a clicker-esque experience. Having birds or something that throw off the imbalance, or doing something that motivates the player to add more plants (like, the cost of power ups increasing over time or something) would make me more motivated to take the risk of adding more plants.
Otherwise, this is a really really solid game. Well done :)
