I didn't really like how this was all luck-based, also graphics were kind of boring.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD37 → Carnival Host

Kind of a nice little game. Don't get much of a story, so it's just memory and semi-rapid key presses. Not sure what the point of the "Dream" race thing is. It would make a good game to keep small children busy. :) Technically, you probably want to extend a shielding graphic out the sides. At a 16:9 resolution, you could see the actors moving on- and off-stage. Nice, clean, simple art!
I liked the graphics in the dream and the little animations, but that's it. I think more narrative would have been better. There's nothing different after the first cycle...besides more items to hide. I think it would have been better to focus on the hiding and changing items part. It was actually getting challenging at the end, except that doing well and getting money had no effect on the game :/
This reminded me a LOT of Papers, Please - a detail-oriented job with people's happiness at stake, and broad implications you MAY in fact be the bad guy here. XD
As awful as it might sound, I really like the "crooked carnival game" concept, and I think it'd be interesting to see it developed into a more detailed game - especially if, like Papers, Please, the player is forced to make some tough "what's right vs. what the job demands"-type decisions. :3
Nice idea, at first I thought it would be too easy but it was alright. A little bit more graphics polish would serve this game well.
Imagine my surprise when I forgot to remove the second present underneath the cup! Huge fine! Letting this game go on longer would have been cool, having to juggle when to cheat the customer and stuff. Like a casino simulator or something.
I really enjoyed the emotional manipulation in this game, it sneaks up on you! Graphics in wide-screen mode can be seen in the edges, waiting in the wings as it were. Progression of difficulty was extremely well done.
Could use a little polish, but I like the idea of being a scamming carnie.
It's a nice little game. It was fun scamming the little kids.
The carnival thing is quite fun and pretty clever. Not sure what the purpose of the dream sequence is and it feels strange having to avoid presents.
Would be grat if I could spend the money for something e.g. for extra time.
Neat concept, nice job!
I scammed those kidsbut then i felt bad and let everybody win hehe. I think the dream sequence is out of place, I'd like to see more of the scamming/guilt aspect. Interesting entry!
Just loved messing with the kids. I know i'm a bad man
Interesting project which could be improved - but I had fun playing it. I liked simple aesthetic. Well done ++
