zoomed a bit further out would of been good, there were some issues with trees clipping the character. good effort has alot of potential
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD39 → Escape the Earth before its too late

Being the first time to take part and getting something to submit is quite impressive. It's too bad there didn't seem to be much variety to the game. Perhaps could increase complexity through power management so you don't just run on a timer? It is rather luck based as it is now.
I hope you'll be taking part in future jams too
For your first LD, that is pretty damn good. There are a few problems though, first off the collision is a little bit awkward. Sometimes i would get stuck when it looked like i shouldn't have. Secondly, a little bit more polish could've been added to the game. Here is a talk about adding "juice" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy0aCDmgnxg Another important thing to keep in mind is to always think from the players perspective. When you play-test your game, you know everything in the game. To a new player, he/she needs to learn everything. In this case, it was kind of difficult for me to understand how the game works from the beginning. I needed to try it out a few times before i got the gist of it.
Overall, this game marks a great learning step in your programming career. Learn from it, get feedback and make more games. Good Luck!
Hi! I played your game and I have to say that for your first game this was pretty good. I liked the music and I liked the graphics + the idea was cool. There are still few things that could have been improved. The game was pretty hard because the energy went down so fast. Also you could see outside the map sometimes and the controls were little bit weird like if I press A and W it just continues to move. Overall this game was a nice entry to this Ludum Dare and I hope that we can see you here next time. :)
Nice Graphics and sounds !
Nice first entry! Keep it up!
Good first entry. Few complaints I have is that it sucks that I have to replay the whole game when I die. Also the retry button is on the same position as the quit button, so when I click twice it quits the game haha. Great job on your first LD game!
Nice game!
Im gonna add to @Tyranosaws comment with this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJdEqssNZ-U
You need some feedback to this game, and also adjust the collisions, and also add them to the cows, because it is a little bit strange when you're down of the cow xD
But good game! #CowsForTheWin
Nice music and atmosphere, but pretty straightforward and not much to say beyond that. I think it would be pretty neat if the particles had more significance. I did find a few bugs (top left corner doesn't render, hold right and tap down, more details in stream - and a third I didn't notice, I seemed to collect an invisible ship part in the second level, possibly at the location of one of them on the first level)
I played this on stream at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/163826993 - Time 1:50:05
So it's a pretty game, your pixel art is nice and the concept of the game is simple but fun. There are soe problems to it though, first you are way too close to the character, a little mpre space would be nice to play better. And another thing si that the game can become repetitive really easily.
But good job!!!
I like the concept of the game, it was fun exploring the little worlds. Great job on your first Ludum Dare! :)
Good simple idea, although it might have worked a bit better if the view wasn't quite as zoomed in. I liked the cow sprites and music.
Great job on your first entry! I actually really liked the zoomed in view I think that made the searching more interesting than it perhaps would have been on its own. I hope you keep making stuff!
For a first time entry, it is nice to see you were able to make a complete game. It could have allowed you to zoom out at the expense of using more power because it was difficult to get your bearings (but maybe that was the point).
I like your concept and even though this is your first time, you managed to make a complete game. The music and atmosphere was good and I really LIKED the graphics. I have a few problems though, whenever I die I have to replay the whole game again, the retry and quit button are at the same position, sometimes you could see outside the map and the controls went a bit weird sometimes. The energy ran out too quick for my liking ( even though mine was like that ;) ) All in all it is good and a great first entry. Keep it up!
Great job on your first jam, its is really very nice for the first game. Congratulations.
