Fun game with great BGM and SFX

mutskun 2018-08-14 08:56

I really like it, like, a lot. the only problem I have is that the ship moves a bit slow but all the rest is great! Great job!

rawrasaur 2018-08-14 09:04

Got to about year 2123 on my fifth playthrough, the first four I was just trying to pick up people and put them down. I reached a point where there were no planets to transport to (only one planet respawned in time). I enjoyed the graphics and the flow of the spaceship movement, and cool little tunes too. Also noticed the UI persists after a planet is blown up by the rocket - and you can keen firing rockets at it. :)

incinious 2018-08-14 09:04

Very cool concept, like the filter and artstyle :)

paprigames 2018-08-14 09:05

Whats's better than sending a transport ship full of people to a distant planet, and then send nuke right after to make room for even more people? :D Nice game overall, but a bit easy. Liked the graphics and audio.

skyrex 2018-08-14 09:11

The only thing that disturbing my while playing is too fast earth explosion.

bredera 2018-08-14 09:15

@rawrasaur Awesome! thank you for the feedback and the bug report that one was not known to us :v:

bredera 2018-08-14 09:22

@skyrex We will look into it and probably giving more time to explore :v:

sergem 2018-08-14 09:30

I like the style, theme and core mechanic, but i suppose it need more dinamic gameplay with less transport rocket cooldown and faster player ship. Also i couldn't figure out what to do with peoples in the main ship

ayxs 2018-08-14 09:36

@sergem You can transfer people with your main ship by flying over another planet except the Earth. You can pick up people by holding down _Left Control_. Thanks for your feedback!

vekstr 2018-08-14 10:28

Congratulations on your first game

The sound was so much fun, but the controls feels a little clunky. I mean, holding LCtrl?

Oh and the intro screen images got cropped on my computer no matter what resolution I played at.

bredera 2018-08-14 10:31

@vekstr Glad you enjoyed it, intro images will be fixed. And this is our third game but the first I published

vekstr 2018-08-14 10:44

@bredera Cool!

ravengar 2018-08-14 11:06

Really cool game, but the earth exploding to fast I think.

zenris 2018-08-14 11:56

I like the concept, but feel like the ship is to slow.

2018-08-14 16:39

Interesting idea! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 42 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/Bq9IqSUYX8Y

bredera 2018-08-14 18:24

@jupiter-hadley Thanks for playing and showcasing the game!

jcwelgemoed 2018-08-14 19:28

Liked the concept, like other comment here, ship felt a bit slow for me. Good entry

awix 2018-08-15 08:24

A good game idea, the music should be improved. The graphics are good. Try our game too, maybe you'll like it)

edgelord 2018-08-15 11:00

One question: Why do you package the macOs version in a .rar? Can u please package the macOs version in a .zip? Mac users would have to install third-party software and I don't want to...

framg 2018-08-15 11:05

good game, bit diffcult

even-games 2018-08-15 11:08

Seems to have problems opening on Mac :/

bredera 2018-08-15 11:11

@even-games we could not test the MAC build, we will try to fix it!

timbals 2018-08-15 11:22

Good idea. Needs some more mechanics to make the game more interesting.

arkadynn 2018-08-15 11:23

A fun game, a lot can be done with it. I enjoyed it very much

shujal 2018-08-15 11:34

Cool game, but it runs really slowly on my laptop (~1fps) :(

ayxs 2018-08-15 14:11

@edgelord We took your comment into account and reuploaded the files in .zip. Thank you for your feedback!

bibilega 2018-08-15 15:49

I like this consept and story! Thank you.

bredera 2018-08-15 15:52

@bibilega We are glad that you enjoyed it!

edgelord 2018-08-15 17:28

@ayxs, thanks!

wahooney 2018-08-16 00:45

It's pretty weird, but cool weird. Like a clown under a streetlight at night. The music fits all the sweet loving the humans must be doing to populate that quickly.

velvetlobster 2018-08-16 05:53

I like the sounds people make when you get them, reminds of of lovers in a dangerous spacetime

antonsem 2018-08-16 20:29

Wow, that's dark... You kind of have to destroy some planets after a while. Made it to 2190. Great audio and graphics although the ship does not fit very well.Yeah, I'm complaining about visual consistency in a game jam game so great job! Loved it!

bredera 2018-08-16 20:45

@antonsem Glad you enjoyed it!

alex-lutay 2018-08-17 02:52

Wow, guys! This is actually great for the first game. Core gameplay is very intuitive and fun, but a little rebalance could help make the game even more enjoyable.

I love that our games may take place in the same game-verse.

Cheers!

freelivesgames 2018-08-17 11:13

Nice work for your first 2D game! The little humans flying from planet to ship and back are a really nice touch.

I played a few times (trying to get a bit better at it). It felt like I hit a ceiling where I could only just barely keep up with the population growth. I know that was the point (and it fits the theme well). A part of me though wanted to go boldly where no human went before and have humans living on several planets at once (though in this simulation humans are always going to explode themselves sooner rather than later).

I discovered that it's possible to suck humans out of a planet (other than earth). I don't think this is ever useful in the game, but I kind of wish it was. Sucking humans from a planet is a really nice verb, I'd like to be able to use it (and for it to be useful).

I wonder if it's necessary for earth to survive. With all these rad tools (like a interplanetary rocket ship with gravitational human suction), maybe just surviving on any planet would be okay.

I loved the feeling of discovering new planets. (Being a space explorer, and a successful one, is rad). While the game is negative about the human race's chances (which fits with the theme) there's a grand feeling of optimism here in the space travel.

Guess I'm saying I like the mechanics and I like the story they tell. And I think there are some cool possibilities for developing this further.

bredera 2018-08-17 11:40

@freelivesgames glad that you enjoyed it, and we appreciate the feedback!

smbe19 2018-08-17 16:53

The music is really awesome and the sound effects are quite funny. The graphics are also really nice. For me it was not really clear when exactly I am able to use the transport action. There seems to be a cool down but an indicator for it is missing. Also, I'm missing a challenge in the game. Sure, you should not let earth explode but the available actions are way too less powerful to really do anything. The transport has a really high cool down and picking them up myself is way too slow and with a too limited capacity. Thus, you feel to not be in power and you don't really feel challenged.

rodrigo-denubila 2018-08-20 13:11

Really good game. Loved the sfx and the art style is really nice too. Also I liked your take on the theme. Good job

thefunattic 2018-08-24 11:12

Hi ! This is a lovely submission, I like the concept behind it, it's pretty original and fun to experiment with. It all happened very fast so it took me some time to understand what strategy to adopt, but I found it overall interesting.

Graphics and sound design fit well together, and give off a vibe I haven't seen elsewhere... It's a bizarre take on space, which I appreciate. The sound effects are quite funny :) Congratulations !!

eric-kulbiej 2018-08-25 17:45

Great art style and sound. Good job. I like the mechanics as well. Keep it up!

Please do check my game maybe you’ll like it and leave some feedback.

bbapps 2018-08-31 01:16

I really liked this game. Love the concept and the gameplay. The are was really nice and so was just the overall look of it. I just want to say that my is actually really similar in concept if you want to check it out.
