LD39 — Running out of Power

Pipe Trek by quill18 2017-08-05T15:15:23Z

Jesus this game is hard. That being said, I am a sucker for Sci-Fi themed games, so I still played it for some time anyway. I think the graphics fit the mood you're going for very well. The music does as well, but does get repetitive after a while. It was a bit hard to figure out where every component of your ship was, and what the exact function was, so there might be some room for improvement in that aspect. But I love how you turned such a simple formula into an interesting game!

Shekateka by dietzribi 2017-08-05T15:58:02Z

Although the game on first sight, and mostly is, a relatively simple dungeon crawler, the socker-element is a very creative gameplay decision. That alongside with fitting graphics and music. Makes sure that Shekateka is a interesting dungeon crawler of just the right length.

I love how unique the art is, yet it still al feels right. Even though the style may be classified as simple, it still contains a lot of detail, especially when you look at the death-screens. The art and audio create a very unique and fitting mood for the middle ages. Take that and add simple but addicting gameplay, and you have a real masterpiece.

(Sidenote, I love how the guy in the top left blinks in sync with the music)

I think I would describe this project not necessarily as a game, but more as an experience, in the same way that "Journey" was an experience. And boy was it a good one. The mood in this game is incredible, with the amazing piano score (Yes I am a sucker for pianos) and very minimalistic yet pretty graphics. I think the story (and especially the conclusion) was very interesting as well. Although I might have come out more confused than when I started the game. Good job!

Plugzzz by mamoniem 2017-08-05T15:45:24Z

The art in combination with the music create a very good and lightly dark mood. The puzzles are not that detailed, but I can see that most of your time went into the physics, luckily, those work very well! I've encountered two bugs/issues however: - Whenever I put the right end of a robot in the plug, and then mash the wrong end (square-thing) into the plug as well, the robot gets unplugged, and sometimes I am unable to select the right end again, leaving me stuck. - Sometimes dragging does not work, it only moves the cable for a few pixels before releasing it.

All in all an interesting game with a lot of promise!

Trump Card by SideSplitter 2017-07-31T21:59:53Z

@miotismon @cymansap I've just released a new version (v1.0.1) which should address the crash, could you try again? Our apologies for the inconvenience.

Wayside : A world awaits you by TheCodeFactory 2017-08-05T16:08:42Z

Very interesting puzzle game. The difficulty of each puzzle slowly builds up, which makes it easier to get into the game. Even though the gameplay formula is quite simple, the game is surprisingly difficult in the end. And just as the music started to get annoying, a different track popped up which was a very welcome surprise. All in all a very well polished puzzle game!

Powerless: Trump Teaches Typing by RootPew 2017-08-05T15:03:23Z

Since you also made a Trump game, I had to play this ! It's actually really funny to see how different our games are even though we both chose Trump and had Losing Power as theme. The game itself is very well executed. Everything just works, and nothing seems out of place. The game does, as many others have mentioned, get a bit repetitive after a while, not that Ludum Dare gives you the time to create a game of that scale anyway. Good job!

(It also made me realize how bad my typing skills are, but we are going to let that slide)
