This is seriously impressive! I love the visual style and the little details—Norton’s face and the animation while it’s parachuting are adorable. I made it to the boss fight but died pretty quickly; a checkpoint before that might have helped, though maybe I missed one along the way. It’s rare to see a compo game this elaborate and polished, though—amazing work.

@mahalis Thank you so much for the kind words, I'm really glad you enjoyed the game! I agree that a checkpoint there would have been more than welcome, I should have thought about that

rezistor 2023-10-03 07:51

I like the idea! Also the character controls are very responsive.

caoker 2023-10-03 07:58

Very cool game! The game’s art left a deep impression on me, and the jumping and gliding sensations are also very good. However, it seems that the map lacks some guidance, and the camera follow is not very smooth. In addition, I am not sure if the game fits the theme of Limited Space, but I really think it's a good game!

sozey 2023-10-03 08:46

@rezistor Thank you for playing! I'm glad you liked the controller, it took me a good chunk of the time to get them right

@caoker Thank you for the feedback! The integration of the theme could definitely have been clearer, space is limited on each platform and they'll collapse when it goes above a certain weight, but I had to make some platforms unbreakable to keep the game from getting into a blocked state.

alanushke 2023-10-03 09:34

very impressive! sound design was awesome, graphics are super cool, reminds me of tron legacy haha, nicely done concept i really like the motherboard setting! i think what bothered me the most was the projectiles from the player, but the explosion makes up for it hehe, great work!

sozey 2023-10-04 09:42

@alanushke Thank you so much, I'm glad you liked the mouth made sounds and the explosions haha! You and your team's game is awesome too!

martin-bousquet 2023-10-05 15:41

Great mood, great visuals, great music!

mozokevgen 2023-10-05 15:41

Visual and audio feels good.

I had issues with noticing edges of the platforms.

sozey 2023-10-05 15:43

@martin-bousquet Thank you, I'm really glad you liked it! @mozokevgen Thank you! And yeah I agree that the dark colors don't help with seeing the edges, that could definitely be improved

fifut 2023-10-05 15:59

Trojans that are real trojans are a very good idea. Congratulation for your game, the graphics are beautiful, it's fluid. The music fits the mood.

It's sometimes hard to keep your bearings during the jumping phase.

sozey 2023-10-05 16:51

@fifut Thank you for playing and for the kind words! I agree that the isometric view makes it hard to tell where you'll land, an indicator would definitely have helped with that!

kuggenhoffen 2023-10-05 19:23

Nicely done for compo! Felt quite nice to play and I liked the trojan horse? :D Would've liked to have the theme integrated more somehow, like something with limited disk space for example.

Just couple of small things that came to mind: 1. When gliding it is a bit difficult to see where one is in relation to the ground, shadow helps when closer to ground though. 2. I feel like the effect on the platform as the weight increases could be a bit more subtle, currently when the platform has lots of enemies it can be quite difficult to see what is going on especially with the added shaking.

Anyways, well done!

sozey 2023-10-05 20:22

Thank you so much @kuggenhoffen ! I'm glad you had a good time with the game, and I really appreciate the helpful and precise suggestions! Your game is great too!

ididgame 2023-10-06 13:04

amazing presentation! the fighting was also fun, the platforming did not feel that great because it was hard to judge ones height the pause menu unfortunately got stuck for me when i died to the boss the first time but overall great job!

sozey 2023-10-06 14:05

@ididgame Thank you for playing! I agree, I completely overlooked that platforming with an isometric perspective would need some adaptation to feel right! Thanks for the feedback

mastoast 2023-10-06 16:24

Great entry, really impressive visuals and music I feel like it's really hard to make precise jumps, that could be caused by the camera keeping the player in the middle of the screen, even in the air Also, i feel like the shooting could be clearer. You don't really see the enemies die, it's hidden by the orange trail, and i was wondering everytime if i kill them all or if there are still up But these are details, solid entry overall

scolondev 2023-10-06 16:43

Interesting game, unfortunately I got lost on where I was supposed to go after a while. I don't know if I was just being silly or I had somehow soft-locked my game. I do wish that the limited space theming was utilized a bit more here. Beyond the computer theming and timed combats on the circuit-board, mechanically there is not much going for it. However, the graphics and atmosphere were well polished, though the audio got quite repetitive after a while. Good job overall!

frogravity 2023-10-06 17:15

Wow, amazing game! Gave me massive Transistor vibes, which is one of my favorite games, so I was immediately hooked :) The graphics are seriously awesome - some of the best I've seen in any jam - and the music is super fitting as well! I also really enjoyed the glide mechanic, and the literal Trojan Horses. The final boss was also a pleasent surprise at the end (I had to redo the entire game to beat it due to the disappearing platforms, but still)!

I did have a hard time with the isometric platforming, though: I felt that the camera was slightly too zoomed in (I had to perform blind jumps on multiple occasions because I couldn't see the target platform), falling down returning you to the last save instead of the last platform you stood on felt a bit too punishing, and while the shadow below you when above platforms was greatly appreciated, it didn't appear when you were above the air (most of the time) and was slightly too hard to see even above platforms. Still, isometric platforming is hard to get right even for complete games, so it was totally fine for a Compo one :)

Nevertheless, I still had fun with it, and it was obvious that most of your time was dedicated to the graphics & mood anyway. Overall, incredible entry!

(One final bug report: the music doesn't loop.)

krassenstein 2023-10-06 17:17

Thanks for letting me play this! Excellent job!

Here's the VOD on YouTube to watch the gameplay, just skip to your chapter on the video! https://youtu.be/-eCnQ8GAhN8

sozey 2023-10-06 21:22

@mastoast Thank you for playing, and for the great feedback! Agreed on all of those, and definitely things I'll keep in mind in the future!

@scolondev It's possible you got soft locked, I think the last opened path can't be accessed even by jumping with a fan in certain conditions! Sorry about that, and I hope you still had some fun with the game!

@frogman Wow thank you so much for the kind words! The final boss isn't nearly as polished as I had wished and you often have to restart if you lose there, I unfortunately ran out of time right on that part. As for the music looping, I copy pasted one of the audio sources I had in the scene and forgot to tick the looping option :face_palm: I really appreciate the detailled feedback and the words of encouragement!

@krassenstein Thanks! It was great fun to see you play it and get some live feedback! I had a great time hanging out on the stream and got to see some awesome games being played. Best of luck for the last week of your kickstarter campaign!

Looking forward to trying all of you guys' games!

chaoli 2023-10-07 05:25

Impressive and well polished graphics! Some minor issue: Under the isometric view camera it's a bit hard to see where to land when jumping and gliding. Overall, a quite cool game!

krynxx 2023-10-07 08:55

Nice game! The graphics and audio are really good. Just like others have mentioned it's a bit difficult to judge where exactly you are in the air

wisstopher 2023-10-08 20:34

Lovely entry, so much content and really polished. I did have an issue where I couldn't get past a certain point because the ground fell away and I then couldn't reach the next platform :sob: . Other than that it was excellent and I couldn't really fault you for doing that much in 48 hours.

myrmyxo 2023-10-14 02:08

Woooow, super nice game ! Love the graphics, although they're a bit unreadable at times and my PC EXPLODED booting up the game (it crashed the first time even). The same on restart. Nice music as well even though at some point it just... stops lol. The sound effects were cool too. Didn't quite get what to do at first, and I managed to softlock myself 2 times lmao. I even killed the boss without knowing at first for some reason it seems ? Idk. The gameplay is nice as well, although I had a bit of problem with the controls, and especially the location of the character on the platform heavy parts. I really like the trojan with the bugs inside, it was a neat design, and the boss was cool too although a bit too easy for me. Once you know where to go, it's fast enough to complete the game, probably under 2 minutes, which is nice if you get softlocked, since you can just skim through the ennemies. I kinda wish they respawned when you died without saving, but it's fine like that especially if you're stuck with them lol. I REALLY wish the falling platforms respawned tho, it was hard to know where to go sometimes, and sometimes even impossible (I think doing the Wifi second softlocked me, not sure tho. Nice fan/glider mechanic as well.

Overall a really nice game, veeeery impressive especially for a COMPO !

themista92 2023-10-17 17:54

Wow, this feels and looks amazingly polished for a Compo entry. Sadly the graphical issues ruin the otherwise super cool style and visuals of this game for me a bit. I'm also not sure if the camera bop on mouse movement isn't a bit too much xD But damn, this looks great, has really nice audio and a great mood. For the kite maybe a light line down to the ground could help a bit as I was sometimes unsure how high I am when not seeing the shadow. In total super nice entry, glad I could play it :-)
