LD37 — One room

Icara's takeoff by Karreg 2016-12-12T12:13:00

Really great! Loved the room-shifting mechanic!

Mr Poo by gabriellpweb 2016-12-20T00:21:00

Great game! When I played the web version it only gave me a split second to read the instructions before moving into the game, so it was a little overwhelming to try to figure out the controls while getting attacked by a mob of cats.

How many employees are needed in a factory? by ThCortezZ 2016-12-14T18:31:00

Really nice graphics!

I couldn't really tell if I was playing the game properly though. I would bring the part to the machine indicated by an arrow, but the first and third machines never seemed to actually work, and every part I delivered would make a buzz sound like I did something wrong (but then I would get money anyway?)

Decube by ato 2016-12-20T00:41:00

Great, quick shmup. Way too difficult for me!

Miawflex by miaw 2016-12-19T17:44:00

Great work! It's a shame the miss/collect tones didn't match the beat of the background music. It also seemed like there was no way to actually lose. After a while I got bored and just tried to miss as many as possible, but the game just kept running.

Oni 'Room by madlee 2016-12-14T18:07:00

Really nice! LOVE the idea of zooming the camera in when you spam the attack.

Robot Retreat! by barkergames 2016-12-20T01:11:00

Well designed game with a nice difficulty curve!

Shadow Fencer Theatre by ShuddaHaddaLottaFun 2016-12-16T18:56:00

I really like the style in this one! The gameplay felt a little... random? loose? Like all I can do is just hold my sword forward and hope for the best. Might have made more sense to control the sword's vertical movement instead? Either way, great job!

Volcano Quest by Doccrazy 2016-12-20T00:13:00

Nice job on building all of this! Difficulty curve is a *bit* steep, would have been nice to get a chance to learn how to use the whip without lava underneath.

Hard Unit by internetpaulicy 2016-12-20T01:04:00

This is one of my favorites: good graphics, nice powerup system, effective audio, and fun to play! Once I got a few powerups I found I was able to just stand at the top firing sideways and maintain that forever; would have been nice if the sides were also possible entry points.

One Room - One Door by bes_kurales 2016-12-19T17:58:00

Good work! I really liked the extra touch of an idle animation. Just a shame the camera was so far back.

Attack feels good, but a little more range, or maybe some way to dodge or block or *something* would have helped. I might just suck at this, but I felt like there was no way to attack without always getting hit.

Only big complaint would be the awful font choices.

Interdimensional Chrono Janitor Service by foolmoron 2016-12-14T19:10:00

Lots of *super* cool stuff going on here on a technical level, but I don't feel like it results in a fun _game_. Sound would have really helped this.

Manic Mars Base Manager by Downtown 2016-12-14T18:41:00

Couldn't run this on my Mac (Macbook Pro Retina, 15-inch, late 2013, OS X Sierra 10.12.1). Just gave me this error:

You can't open the application “ld37_ManicMars_1.1(Mac)” because it is not supported on this type of Mac

Mouse Trap by mrwillowb 2016-12-20T18:27:00

Felt more like work than play to me, but I loved the mouse explosion when the traps actually work!

Shenzhen Manufacturing Co. by jsmars 2016-12-14T18:22:00

Idea seems cool, but I'm having trouble playing it (on OS X). When I bring a spool of fabric to the sewing machine and press X, I'm expecting to get back a bolt of cloth, but nothing happens at all.

Factory-Room by Yvanor 2016-12-20T17:59:00

Drove me crazy that I couldn't put parts in the assembler while there was a finished toy on its output tray. Good game!

Room One by Yamzho 2016-12-20T17:42:00

Nice job. Sound effects and maybe a bit of animation here and there would have helped a lot, but of course there's only so much you can do in two days! Difficulty was a little weird, like it felt way too easy and then I had suddenly lost randomly.

Zombie Swarm by Magius96 2016-12-20T00:34:00

Simple, but well executed. The ammo scarcity seems like it would be a bad idea with this type of game, but it really works here. Great job!

Connection is lost by MrJackphil 2016-12-20T17:48:00

Cool game, I especially liked the super low-res art. I couldn't really tell when I was in danger of losing though. I think I was losing because I wasn't sleeping, but I didn't know I was tired until it was already too late.

Cancelled Refuge by SinclairStrange 2016-12-19T17:51:00

Ridiculously good. I don't think I could make this *without* a time limit!

Cocoa Catastrophe by Eggplant 2016-12-20T18:05:00

Nice little Christmas mastermind game! Having headphones on, that beep noise when I finished the game was a little rough.

Tree House Quest by AngrySquirrels 2016-12-16T18:37:00

Outstanding! Very impressive art and sound.

Homes under the Hammer by Tijn 2016-12-14T18:47:00

LOVE THIS! Sound was great. Easily my favorite entry so far! Wasn't sure how to tell if a given wall is structural or not though. Or maybe it's just random? Either way, great job! :D

Package Madness 2D by rplnt 2016-12-19T17:23:00

Really cool idea! Love that it's educational; takes me back to the Carmen Sandiego days.

I didn't realize at first that you could *only* deliver to the country specifically mentioned, which caused a lot of mistakes on my part. To me it seems harder to deliver something based on only the flag, so it should be bonus points not a penalty. Also it seems like there's no *real* penalty for when you do make a mistake. The player is left to just play until they get bored.

Was frustrated with how slow the movement was, would have really loved a run button. Tank-style control was a little weird I guess, but nice to see someone doing something different!

rotomanor by jelch 2016-12-20T18:11:00

Very impressive art and music on this one! I think some environmental variation or a mini-map or something to aid navigation would have really helped here; I was completely unable to keep track of where I was or where I was going.

Elves with Shelves by Fantasieleben 2016-12-15T18:23:00

This was really cool! If I had to make one small critique, the signs on the supply chests could be a little easier to read. Also I think a way to mess with the people you're playing against would have made a great addition, but still this is very impressive!

Exit Route by willchil 2016-12-14T18:56:00

I like the idea, and the non-euclidean space is cool. The repetitive nature kinda cuts into the fun-factor though.

Hitlers Cactus or only you can stop Trump by stupidmindlessf 2016-12-14T19:04:00

It's called Hitler's Cactus. How could someone NOT love this? Nice job on the art, love the twist on "One Room" by using time travel!

Little Room of Horrors by phoenix1987 2016-12-20T18:18:00

Really like the idea of having to choose between feeding the player or the room, but in practice I never felt like I needed the upgrades. Not having any sound at all really hurt.

Bat Cave by schizoid2k 2016-12-16T18:50:00

Nice retro arcade-style shooter! Maybe choose different key bindings next time though, Ctrl+Arrow kept changing my current Desktop on Mac.

Roombatron by corey 2016-12-15T18:13:00

Playable, but I got bored quickly with no adversaries or progression.

The Cat and Dog don't really seem to do anything other than move around randomly, if they were attacking the player and/or messing up the carpet that might have been a little more engaging.

Of course, considering the short dev timeline this was a good effort!

Roomescape by Minemes 2016-12-20T00:07:00

Love it! Nicely designed puzzle, funny ending. Great job on such a short timeline!

Kitchen Defender Ants Attack! by KunoNoOni 2016-12-16T19:05:00

Couldn't run this on Mac OS X (10.12.1). Got this super-helpful message:

The application “KitchenDefender” can’t be opened.

Item Phantom by Leddev 2016-12-16T19:01:00

Getting this (unusually harshly worded) error message on OS X (10.12.1):

“Item Phantom” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.

The Princess Trap by David Cookie 2016-12-15T18:27:00

Not bad! Took a bit to understand the differences between the traps.

Tail Arena by kernel panic 2016-12-14T19:40:00

Nice job with the sound! Kinda reminded me of Snake, but without the "your body is lethal to yourself" concept. A little more effort in the graphics would have been nice; I couldn't really remember what did what once the game started.

Squiddy by Tribbs 2016-12-16T19:11:00

I love the "tentacles as life meter" idea! Nice artwork too! That music got pretty grating *real* fast though.

The Kendy murder by KerelOlivier 2016-12-15T18:16:00

OS/X link is a Windows app :(
