Really fun so! I can't wait to see where it goes!! :)
Thank you @lanalux for giving this game a try! :)
Oh yeah, good old text adventure! I liked the idea, maybe the only thing I would change is the player's input. I prefer when you need to make decision every time a new text appears not only pressing space bar most of the time. Anyway, this is a game jam, so we all know that time is very limiting so I truly understand.
However, I gave you an extra star for having the balls of making this rather obsolete genre which also happen to be one of my most favourite ^^
Thanks for the feedback @iluvatar! Much appreciated!
Not normally my kind of game, but it was well written and the game responded nicely to my inputs. Well done.
@ryano Thank you so much! Getting the inputs correct took some time (guessing intent is hard), and this my first ever attempt at writing fiction so your feedback is much appreciated :)
I do love a good text adventure! It was a bit tough to guess the special phrases so I had to sneak a look at the source, and the game seemed to break in the tavern when looking at the sleeping man :( - just froze up and said 'press space to continue' Also the first window that is supposed to pop upo for the fight didn't show for me, but all in all I enjoyed the bit of story I read. Nice job!
@ciaranw Ouch, sorry about the bugs! I'll take a look! Glad you enjoyed the story, thanks so much for the review :)
YAY for text adventures :D It's simple but effective :D
Very well done! I loved the small effects, like the screen/text vibration for action events/explosions - it really added to the experience without being too overpowering!
Thank you @fictions and @redhermit! Really appreciate your feedback :)
Very cool system, with the mix of free-typing and dialog choices.
I moved around a bunch, checking things out and having fun, but I got stuck in the tavern. I got coal and a goblet, but I couldn't proceed or leave, as far as I could see. It said the guard stopped me, but then it said there was no guard if I tried to interact.
Overall the feel is nice, but if I could tweak one thing, it would be to clear the text line when I type something no good. The way it is now, I very often had to backspace 10 times to delete my text after making a bad guess, so it was like a small splinter on top of a possibly frustrating moment.
I also tried some abbreviations (l for look etc) but didn't seem to work.
Overall nice job! I wish I had gotten a little further to see what happened...
@pkenney Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback! I definitely hear you about the input, both handling and abbreviations. (In the tavern, "go out" would have worked, but I recognize that it isn't clear).
If I try to make an actual game out of this (or at least use the engine for a new game), I'll make sure to address all of these issues
Again, thank you!
Nice one, cool dialogue choices and the intro is reaally nice. I found it quite hard.
@chocolat-endive Thank you for the feedback! :)
I liked the game, I'm already a lover of those text-based games, but this one was fun :)
Would've loved to be able to use abbrevations though, nothing you haven't already heard!
I really love the gameplay and the ambiance of the game ! This is original and audio/graphics are so cool ! Good job
@twinghosts Thank you! Request for abbreviations duly noted :) Did you manage to complete the game?
@fammy Thank you! Although I must ask if you meant for this comment to be for another game. This game doesn’t have audio or graphics :)
An interesting entry! At first it was a bit hard to interact with it but I got it finally xD (not a native speaker, maybe that's the reason)Nice job and an interesting story! It could maybe use a bit of ambient/random noises in the background to build the immersion but it's an unique game overall!
Thank you @dane-tesla, much appreciated! Great idea with ambience! I ran out of of time, will ensure to add next time :)
I love the atmosphere and details you are given about the city. I also love the simplistic/clean font and text boxes. However it was sometimes a bit confusing what I needed to do next, maybe the different things you can do in each area could have different text colours? But overall it's a great game!
@yayiest Thanks for the detailed feedback, much appreciated! I definitely agree, that sounds like a good improvement!
