I tried to play your game but got an error. Try building to a html5 release and putting it on itch.io

Good job with the game! I must say this game must have been hard to do, very ambitious for a LD, so I appreciate your effort. The lightning is in the perfect spot and it does set up a great thrilling mood, even if the enemy can sometimes be more powerful than you expect it to be, in my opinion it doesn't break up the feel of the game (Let's be honest, the enemies in Outlast behave similar :D). Also, a checkpoint would have been great :)

i couldn't play but looks like very cool ! i like the graphics ANNND you did it in 3D ! gg Wait the good version :p

So the point of Lovecraft's stories is that there are beings far beyond of our understanding, and realizing our insignificance in the universe is terrifying. This doesn't really manifest itself in this game to my mind. Asking us to google morse code in an intense situation seems a bit off to me, even though the visuals and sounds somewhat capture an interesting atmosphere. Couldn't finish it, sadly. Also...spelling errors...come on...

lerpish 2017-12-05 21:50

the game gets more lovecraftian later but i get what you mean szabe and thx for the criticism spelling errors yeah english is not my first language

athoka 2017-12-06 09:55

I like the idea of the morse code but I think it would be better if the alphabet or something like that was in the game because as @szabe says, googling it breaks a bit the experience. I didn't like the controls, the mouse felt a bit laggy for me.

At its core it's an intriguing game, mostly due to its atmosphere.

Unfortunately it's hindered by its flaws such as:

THE ENEMY: It's supposed to be scary but ended up being irritating. It's easy to avoid it but as it's randomly keeps chasing you and because of the way the rooms are designed, it can keep you locked up in a section of the map, making it difficult to progress. Also, when the enemy "gets" you, the game quits, making it extremely frustrating because you have to do a bunch of stuff all over again. (Here, a checkpoint system of some sort would be nice)

THE THEME: I don't really got how it fits with the theme. Because of the direct correlation between sanity and knowledge, I believe that the takeaway is "the more you know, the worse it is", but I didn't understand how those meters had any effect in the game other than to show me my progress.

THE ENDING: I didn't understand the ending mainly because I got the screen pictured here (**possible spoilers?**): asdasdasasasd.png

I assume you had a good and bad ending but I guess something bugged and I got both? Not really sure :P

Nevertheless, it was an interesting experience and I hope I was as constructive as possible so you can make your future games even better :)

This game was neat. Loved the Lovecraftian feel of the game. I liked that as you discover riddles and logs, you start to go more and more insane.

Very cool!

lautregars 2017-12-06 22:37

I liked the game, the atmosphere was allright (maybe not too much Lovecraftian, but if you see it as a standard jam enigma/horror game, it's pretty alright) and laughed alot on the little english errors here & there, gave a touch of naivety in a serious game and honestly it was cool, even if there were a few fashion-faux-pas like the game quiting while dying or the arial use :D

The game looks good, it sets up a great mood, but the fact that the ghastly enemy keeps spotting me through walls and sometimes it gets aggressive even when I am hiding in a closet kills the fun for me a bit... Great job though, can't say I didn't spend more time with your game than with most of other games :)

Really nice game and cool idea with morse code!:)

belea 2017-12-08 02:53

The atmosphere is great. I was really scared while playing.

I've missed something for the morse code inside the game. Searching out game takes you out of the atmosphere.

By the way, good job there :)

I would have preferred a .zip to a .rar since I had to go grab an extractor just to play but it was really good overall!

bificommander 2017-12-08 21:05

A very neat game, with a nice list of features. The coded numbers were fun, although it meant a lot of alt-tabbing for the morse code. If I might suggest a small tweak: A fade in and fade out for the scary music.

How about rating other games, earning ratings yourself, instead of begging?

lerpish 2017-12-09 13:36

im rating them just saying i need those votes

jk5000 2017-12-09 13:51

The game was very scary, and story was good.

Despite my latop cutting out during this - I think you developed a good atmosphere in the game. Shared many similiarites with amnesia and slenderman - both great games but as a result I kept comparing it in my head with those. I'll be honest, it got my heart rate up a bit! Looking forward to your next entry.

I'm a simple man, I read "Lovecraft", I instantly download. And I was not disappointed! :) The atmosphere is thrilling and the sounds are spooky. The only downside are the movements. Im not sure if it was just me, but it seemed laggy and unsteady. Overall great game :)

lerpish 2017-12-09 23:07

behenate 2017-12-27 18:55

Nice game, but controls feel laggy and unresponsive

Neat game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 40 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BQct2dB93U
