Nice. A bit of a flaw tho, if I'm on the ground, and get the walls one away from closed, I won't be able to jump out even if I get the answer right. Worse, I can't even purposely lose because the walls don't close once you get the answer right. Neat idea tho.

nononick 2017-04-25 21:58

Game crashes on the (presumably) last level, after the _-turn one. The MIRROR level should be NRII_I instead of MRII_I. Cool game nonetheless.

silkworm-sweatshop 2017-05-01 19:38

Interesting game! I had to cheat to get to the end though :P. My letter was on the second to last word _"O"__.

yirggzmb 2017-05-01 19:45

Interesting idea! I only get two puzzles before it goes to the end screen. Intentional?

tselmek 2017-05-02 04:53

@yirggzmb That's a really weird bug and I can't seem to be able to reproduce it :/

yirggzmb 2017-05-02 06:49

@tselmek Yeah, I'm not really sure why it's doing it. It pauses for a bit longer than usual after the second level, almost as if it's trying to load the next level, before jumping to the end screen. [Video link](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-Z2BUp-CtE) if you were curious.

It's definitely better than just crashing though, and I love the idea behind it.

sachos345 2017-05-02 17:09

@yirggzmb same happened here. Love the idea man but it seems we are getting to the end of the game instantly =S Also judging by the hints .txt those are the last two levels, we are actually skipping the first 18 i think.

tselmek 2017-05-02 18:09

@sachos345 @yirggzmb Wow guys thanks a lot for sharing that bug, I'm uploading a new build right now. Thanks a ton for pointing it out!

zorg 2017-05-06 16:08

I did not get to the last screen of the video. The wall said "THIS IS NOT SUPPOSED TO SHOW UP". Apparently, it did. :P

I like the game anyway. It's a bit harder for non-native speakers, but most of the riddles were manageable. Only very few were not, even after reading the hints.

undefinist 2017-05-06 16:18

Played till the end! I still don't understand the mirror one (even with the hint). I think it's a pretty cool game, and I really liked the mood and the music. I disliked jumping on the exact same platforms every level just for the sake of needing to jump on them. Maybe the puzzles could be more dynamic? Idk. Either way, it was a good entry!

Also: those who got to the end screen, the first letter is B.

flaterectomy 2017-05-07 00:02

Clever riddle puzzler! I definitely needed the hints file you included with the game, and I had to consult @meatmachine over mumble to make sense of things. As well as google. :D

The theme is included in how the world gets smaller I suppose. It's not very integral, but it kinda works.

The art is simple but it works well. It didn't need grandiose graphics, as it's about the riddles. The music sets a nice atmosphere.

blackrose 2017-05-07 12:33

Congratulations its a really good game! Sometimes its really hard. The esthetic is simple and beautiful. I enjoy playing it ^^

iluvatar 2017-05-08 10:26

Very creative and inovative idea. It was more of a text game, but with a nice 'plot' with jumping guy in it. I liked it, good job :)

meta-link 2017-05-08 18:08

Awesome game !

The concept is cool, the art and the music really good, and the game is fun to play ! Good job !

kappaix 2017-05-08 18:33

Really interesting, simple and effective graphics and sound - good concept. Had varying success with the riddles, but on the whole, fun.

Thanks for sharing, well done!

fueelin 2017-05-08 19:20

Awesome game! All aspects of the presentation were very polished and intriguing - graphics, sound effects, music, and the inclusion of a hints file. Definitely the kind of game you know you'll want to finish as soon as you start it.

I liked the puzzles a lot too - one of the types of puzzles I'm best at :) Good variety with them too! Really excellent work overall!

gredgie 2017-05-08 20:09

The concept is great, though as brutal as some riddles were I was hoping the platformer elements would be slightly more varied than the same standard set (unless I just suck and didn't get overly far, I was a sport and didn't look at the hints!). To prevent being unable to reach the exit after the walls have closed some, I'd imagine you could instead gradually close the exit itself rather than box the player in. Almost perhaps add a time limit to figure the riddle out, though that might crank the difficulty up too much. There's definitely something to work from here though!

this-gooch 2017-05-09 23:44

Very nicely polished. Some brutal puzzles (which if you like puzzles, is a good thing). I felt the platforming part was a bit of an afterthought. Nothing in the world really gave me reason why jumping was really necessary, beyond giving a better sense of tension when the walls would start to cave in.

Cool concept, and I do really like that it made use of the letters on the keyboard! You don't see that often.

clickmation 2017-05-10 04:29

Beep Boop Boop Beep?? I still don't know. Your game was really fun to play, but I think the elements in the game didn't synergize with each other. It doesn't seem like a big deal because I only noticed that after I turned off the game. However, I think this game could be way better if you figure out a way to make the elements work together. Good Job!!

adventurjourney 2017-05-11 19:47

Interesting game ! The mix of the two genres is unexpected. Though I think that having to switch between the arrow keys and the letters of the keyboard is not that intuitive. But It's true that having to type stuff while leaving the caracter alone and seeing this huge walls approaching creates more tension !

New Bitmap Image.png

Oooops, did I break it?

iamteekay 2017-05-12 10:12

Woah! interesting game! got me thinking for a while. I love the minimalist artstyle you used. It suits perfect.

terrabalt 2017-05-12 13:03

![C_NFINEMENT R__M_2017-05-12_19-57-56.png](///raw/120/2/z/43d7.png Wew, that's a neat one! The puzzles are pretty clever (and even laugh-worthy, but maybe that's just my lame side talking), the atmosphere is quite good, graphics are simple but nice, and the music and sound effects trully helps the experience. Though, i think i found a bug; if you type in any line if you're in the "you lost" screen, it would skip the next puzzle. But all in all, a neat entry! would l_ve to see this expanded m_re!

tselmek 2017-05-13 10:15

Thanks for the kind comments and the useful feedback everyone! <3

@zorg @juju-adams Would you happen to remember what level preceeded that bug?

@terrabalt Can't seem to have access to your screenshot sadly :/

phi 2017-05-13 17:18

Wow, I didn't expect a word puzzle, but I was not disappointed! Very polished look&feel, fitting audio, smooth transitions... I must say, a couple of them are pretty hard (I blame it on my native language not being English...). What would make it even more interesting, I think, would be making the levels and physics a part of the mechanics (maybe more than one puzzle per level, each one triggers something different, so that escaping the room is a bit more complicated). Anyway, thank you for making this, I loved it!

siegfriedcroes 2017-05-19 14:58

Even though the game was really simple in terms of gameplay and visuals I really enjoyed it! I just really like word puzzles, solving them makes me feel smart :P I didn't get all of them but that's alright.

2017-05-24 15:11

Really lovely game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 38 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reOMZ5szx64
