It''s kind of hard to figure out what to do.

It''s kind of hard to figure out what to do.
I realized that that would be one of the issues that people would have with the game. I was going to add some hints here and there but unfortunately I ran out of time.
Not bad, but I feel like the gameplay can be difficult to get a solid grip on. The movement is a bit slow for my liking and the input doesn't have any "juice"- things like screenshake and particle effects can go a long way!
Good luck on your next Ludum Dare!
I really liked the computer stuff; reddit being front page of hell and "twatter" where Donald Trump says stuff about Norhth Korea :D.
Thanks, @AlexHoratio I also felt that the movement was a bit too slow for my liking after a few runs of playtesting but my gut instincts told me to keep it in. Animations are definitely something I struggle with and I didn't even think of adding any particles or screen effects. Thanks for your feedback :)
@bradur I definitely prioritized humor in this game. It's difficult to laugh at your own jokes so I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
it was an interesting experience, but didn't feel like doing anything at all as a game, i understand the game is about doing anything but if the player doesn't feel like it is doing something the player will get bored
@kerneltt Thanks for your comment, yeah I definitely felt like gameplay would be a big issue with this one. There should definitely be a better response to your actions but it doesn't seem like I thought of that beforehand so the points and rank system was the only real reward for playing.
It would be nice if the junk food icons indicated what effects they have on the player. The effects were buried in a menu on the computer.
@lot9s I definitely agree with what you said. Again I wish now looking back on it that I would have found some way to convey the information to the player better rather than hiding it. I was going to have some visual indicators when you ate some of the junk but unfortunately, I ran out of time. Thanks for the feedback :)
I liked the concept. I didn't realize at first what the numbers in the bottom left were or what the bars in the bottom right were. I also wasn't sure which bar was for which stat. Overall, neat game and good luck with future Ludum Dares!
Thanks @Bookworm31 yeah looking at most of the issues people had its pretty clear to me now that a quick tutorial or atleast some icons would have gone a long way. I'll definitely remember for the next Ludum Dare.
Well, I made it to the GodAss more is not possible or maybe I need new keyboard :D funny game, but that reset button is really needed :D
@Sanguis Thanks for your comment, glad to see that someone made it all the way to GoodAss (dedication :p), yeah through my own stupidity it's actually impossible to hit 10/10 (my bad) unfortunately I lost this game's source code (before you say GitHub... yeah, check for yourself) so I can't fix it. But thanks anyway :D
quick tutorial would have been nice, figured stuff out after some trials
I liked the graphics, the gameplay is a little confusing at first, but once you got it, well, it's still hard xD. Funny game.
The idea is really awesome. The execution could be a bit better, but I understand it's rather hard for a Compo. For me, it was a good game :) (I like your parodies on Jonny's computer. Like Twatter, haha.)
Kind of interesting game. Stats/gameplay a bit confusing and audio is rather creepy. Neat though.
I think this could be an interesting premise for a game but I don't really see how it connects with the LD40 theme. I like the graphics of the bedroom and Jonny, although the pop-ups and screen graphics might be too pixelated and hurt readability.
It took me a few goes to get a grasp on all the mechanics; it wasn't clear to me that I had to click to earn points. I don't mind a good clicker game but mixing it was keyboard movement felt a little strange, you probably could have had the mouse used for all actions. Also, the food items seemed to have too many disadvantages, so I ended up not eating and just going with sleep. Maybe I would have experimented with the balance a bit more but the lack of a retry option discouraged this.
I think, overall, that the biggest improvement you could make would be to make the game more player-friendly; retry option, simpler control scheme, label the UI elements, etc.
Thank you everyone for playing my first Ludum Dare game :D. I'm going to take all of your feedback on board so next time I can make something even better. Thanks guys :)
