cool idea and beautifully done!
After I figured out what is doing, this was very cool! Very innovative approach on the theme.
The exquisite art style immediately attracted me
The design—where the lighthouse's beam guides the ships—is quite interesting; it became even more intriguing when I realized I also had to attack hostile vessels.
Nice mechanics and even some narrative!
Thats some massive team
@towercrane The amount of people might be a little misleading. Many of them couldn't participate full time because of work, school, visiting relatives etc.
Haha you also made a lighthouse game! Feels like yours slightly better simulates how they actually work ^^ Very fun!
love games about ships) well done
The atmosphere is this game is really cool, I love the art, the voice acting and music! The gameplay is fun as well, and I love how smooth all plays out. The water animation is very nice, good job! :)
That must be the biggest team I've ever seen in a jam  I really liked the vibes! I'm personally not good at games where I need to juggle many things at once like this, so I honestly couldn't get past the second level, but that's purely a skill issue. The game has a ridiculous amount of polish when it comes to all the dialog and "voice acting". I hope this Nestori has his own ringed seal companion that's revealed at some point of the game
I am always drawn to lighthouse games for whatever reason...
Phenomenal, really feels like a full and complete experience
Very nice! The art in the cover image catched my eye and i was very happy, when the kraken appeared in the game =). I like the lighthouse game play. I didn't hit a thing with canons though :D.

If you liked the song, you should try our previous games... They all have similar style credits rap song from the same music team :sunglasses:
You caught me off guard last Ludum Dare with the rap, and wow you did it again. It's not even a contest, you win the **Best Rap of Ludum Dare 59** award. Easily.

I really liked the difficulty curve being explained through the story as the waters were harsher in ye olden days. What a clever way to weave the story and gameplay!
I recorded myself playing to provide as much feedback as possible. Cheers!

simple gameplay and visual for this team, great job
@100th-coin Thank you very much for the voice acted let's play! It was awesome to see someone play our game through. We were worried that the difficulty was too high, but maybe we got it right this time around!
I was pulling my hair through the video as you managed to evade most of my tutorial!
- In the first level, if you had lighted the smaller beacons in the first level, you would have gotten tutorial texts for how to link the beacons to each other. - In the second level if you scrolled outwards AND inwards, it would have triggered the next tutorials for how to use cannon and the sonar - -> so in the third level you didn't know about the beacons NOR the sonar yet... And it was the hardest level. I feared for a rage quit, but you just found everything on your own
As you might guess, we had planned more levels... Total of six, but they had to be cut down to three when time was running out. I decided still to put all the story in, putting multiple pieces of story in the same transition screen. Dialogues from the three missing levels were left out and all the elements were put in the game in bunches instead dropping gradually one new thing per level.
Even if it was now more rushed than originally planned, I think we knitted it pretty well together :sunglasses:

Well, this is something I haven't played before. It has the coziness of an RTS of the turn of the century, but it's not an RTS. I think the difficulty curve was just perfect. I never found the rock with symbols.
Love the story and visuals, having the core idea being a lighthouse keeper was really cool. Great game, well done.
I really liked this game. It was easy to understand and not too difficult, but it captured its core idea perfectly. I think it used the theme in an interesting way, and the song at the end was definitely unexpected
Overall, it was an enjoyable experience, and with a bit more time, I can see it becoming a great game to casually spend time with. For a game jam, it more than delivers.
Congratulations on your work! :octopus:
That is so impressive for game jam game! Everything looks so polished, with a great amount of art, the audio very consistent, and the story! Everything's in it and it creates a very convincing setup!
I loved the mechanic of "connecting" multiple lighthouses between them to reach further. So simple, and yet it works perfectly.
You did an amazing job, congrats!
Really well made game, great job! Took me some time to figure out the mechanics, and how powerfull sonar really is, but after that it was smooth.
Very good, the first level is boring, but then it gets much more interesting
It's so interesting! I absolutely love both the style and the gameplay! This is a five-star level!!
 :octopus: well done! some of the zoom/pan can feel a little clumsy at times but the illumination effect is good (like illuminating the old map) . I only wish I could leave the light pointing elsewhere while I fire the cannon - but this is nicely done.
Exposing the fog of war over the ocean was a great use of the theme! Loved the overall atmosphere of the entire game, the music, the old papery text to deliver the narrative, the tone of the writing...it was all well executed on! Chaining together lighthouses and swapping between cannons to destroy pirates and squids was entertaining! Loved the music. Cool game!
Interesting concept, nice vibe!
Excellent idea, congratulations! It was a little confusing switching between the cannon and the signal, and I also didn't know what the crosshairs on the screen were for, but nothing that stopped me from playing.
It's funny to see the little faces and hear the random voices, haha. If you have a moment to rate my game, I would appreciate it.
Excellent submission! I loved the outro song, the voice lines, the graphics, the story, the gameplay... nothing negative I can really say about this game other than that I would love to see the story progress and play more levels!
EDIT: Update an hour and a half later -- still vibing to the credits and clicking repeat every time they run out
Cool Game! First i had some problems to understand what to do but on the big map it was clear and fun :D Also sweet art style and music^^
The visual, sound and music are great. Very nice mechanic. Great game!
:musical_note:*you are my guiding signal*:musical_note:
Nestori Miikkulainen really does have some extraordinary skills :D The cannons were just at the right difficulty, not too easy ball speed but not too hard, great job with that balancing! Was waiting for 4th level, but maybe a good thing not to extend it too much. I felt the size of our team in the amount of polish each part of the game got, such a nice mixture of different talents.
I felt that there was not really any point in using the closer zoom modes, other than admiring the art. The fully zoomed out view worked nicely for me the whole time.
I had weird bug that my fps would drop staying on the web build browser tab for a long time, luckily it fixed itself after switching tabs and coming back to the game. Anyways, that what I get for using firefox and not something chromium based...
Amazing song at the end too :)
This is great fun. I was a little confused at first, but once I realised what was going on everything made sense. Great visuals and audio. The levels are challenging but not too hard. And there's a lovely mix of mechanics that work well together. Good stuff :8ball:
