windows scaling was good. Both of other games and mine have window UI problem because of rushing. In first meet with enemy , I wasn't know how to attack. After an minute I realise I need press number to attack .Font and UI need be less saturated colors. Attack font speed should be little bit faster . It boring bit , animation of get in/out of enemy and crashing to wall was excellent. You should use royalty free music like me if you can't make.

2 years ago I was using libgdx that need big patience to use . It need few code to draw something like OpenGL -.- .why you didn't put this game to compo?

Well it sure does convey a dungeon exploration feel! I lost my way after a few turns :D Anyways, great game! Had a lot of fun playing it.

Nice game! Would be nice to see more of it :)

Really cool! I quickly got lost on my first try and died before I made it out.

I love these kinds of dungeon crawls, and the money mechanic really adds a whole new layer to the idea. Seemed like even with full perception I kept on missing though, which was a little frustrating. Them's the breaks when you're dealing with an RNG though. Even still, I had a lot of fun playing this game.

Keep up the great work!

Really polished and well done game, I like the consistency of the style and graphics. Could use some sound (I played the LD40 version) but it is a great entry overall. Good job!

Excellent game. I got down to the red level before being killed by a Zapper. I'm guessing you need to descend as far as you dare and then come back out of the dungeon to bet healed? Kind of a push-your-luck mechanic? I've never had the patience to map games like this myself, I just used the 'hug the left wall' strategy which usually brought me to the next staircase sooner rather than later.

activated-onion 2017-12-09 04:44

I played it for a few minutes.

It's hard for me to keep track of where the stairs are when it moves one tile at a time, I can't see far, and everything looks the same.

I didn't read the README (most users won't) so I kept thinking I was about to die.

The stat abbreviations didn't make sense without reading the readme and all I wanted was to not die, but I didn't know how to play the game.

I love this game! From the graphics style to the audio to the gameplay! It really does get harder as you get further into the maze! I love the wound system because it causes less stress to me about dying!

Amazing! I love the graphics and style, it really reminds me of the old Might and Magic games!

This was FAN-TAS-TIC! The nostalgia vibe from the old school RPGs is well done. Great entry, one of my favourites :)

Love this game! Made it to the red level (LD40 version). I only found it hard to distinguish between 0 and 8 for the sparks available. Amazing that you completed this game in a couple of days :)

Great game, it really reminded me of Catacomb Abyss with a mixture of Ken's Labyrinth. Good ui, good art, good gameplay. I do feel that the connection with the theme is a bit of a stretch though.

Also, good sound effects but the background sound effects do not combine with the pixel art and 8 bit sounds. The background sound effects help with the mood, but they are way too realistic. Other than that, I think this was a really well polished game. Also your update on walking through the level was really good, great improvement. Great work :)

Neat idea, but I think there's a key flaw in your mechanics that you might not have considered. If obtaining gold is bad, and the only benefit of killing monsters is to get gold, then surely the best strategy would be to max speed and run away from every battle. I thought the death mechanic was really well done though, much better than just having the player die. Other than that, the art was all on point and the sounds fit well. Well done!

geckoo1337 2017-12-27 17:29

Of course, it reminds me Dungeon Master and Chaos Strike Back. You did a fantastic work on the aesthetic - in less than a few hours. The sounds are great. A really good entry ++

sparewizard 2017-12-29 13:56

@Chao I had thought about that, which is why I let monsters attack first when you try to run away. Most of the gold is lying around the levels; in the post-jam I added each enemy drops a gold when it is beat for the first time
