hey i played your game! it has a pretty cool narrative, i especially liked the common room. i also liked the part where he says to get to public sector you must be millionaire or sleep with dr. sanders. i dare to assume that you fulfill neither requirements haha. one note i have is that it took me quite a while to realize that you had an inventory if you hover the mouse at the top of the screen. it might be helpful if it were easier to access or if you simply told the player to hover the mouse there. nice job!

Great little game! I loved the graphics, especially the way you designed the common room. Too bad it's a bit short but hey, it's LD and time is limited. But it has potential and would love to see if you expand it post the Jam at some time. Keep up good work!

Okay, first thing's first... I couldn't beat it. **BUT!** But but but! This was a gorgeous game with an incredible take on the theme. The dialogue was really well done and the characters felt really fleshed out. Great story and great audio/art to go along with it. You really set the mood. Nice work!

EDIT: I just read above that you have an inventory! Ahhh! The locket! It makes so much more sense!!!

I enjoyed playing through the game - the story is pretty good, and the atmosphere of the game is amazing! The music enhances the mood well.

The three locations are beautifully drawn, as is the title screen. You clearly spent a lot of effort here, and it shows!

The game itself feels a bit short, but still manages to contain enough objects with descriptions to hint at how everyday life in Haven must be. If you have the time, you should definitely consider expanding on the game into a post-LD version, to flesh out the ending, and add a few more descriptive objects and puzzles. You reveal enough of the world that I want to see more of it!

>Empty loneliness, >calls for desperate action! >I must find my wife!

iluvatar 2017-05-05 07:11

Thank you all for playing my game. I really appreciate your (hopefully) honest reviews :)

@somnium Actually, yes, the "lost wife" theme was not intended from the beginning, but because of the lack of time, I had to come up with something quick. I have already created plot for the post LD version, and it will be more diverse and longer. It will also take more time to make :) Thanks again for your response.

Interesting, I'd like graphic in game.)

Awesome experience!! Maybe I'm just in a LucasArts-Adventure-game phase, but this game hits the spot!

The intro feels like a movie, telling the story beautifully, but please make the text skippable per mouse click, because the timer almost took double the time I needed to read, which makes for a slightly annoying moment

Music, story, puzzles, graphics and humor were on point!! Great job

Incredible game! Excellent pixel art and storytelling! I hope you will continue this game, i would play it! Good job! :)

Hey there Mr. Davidu! Thanks for sharing! I liked it! The graphics, the narration, a lot of content tho :) You saw me playing it I guess :)

You can watch me playing the game here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5x4fRX8yrw

listonos 2017-05-06 19:48

Ended kind of abruptly but I assume you just ran out of time  If you don't quit the game you can talk to poisoned Dr. and he will get up for a short time which was pretty comical to me. Jokes aside, great atmosphere, the story was good thought short. Art was amazing and the music was great as well.

furazin 2017-05-07 00:31

The graphics are amazing and your concept idea is really interesting. I couldn't finish the game because I tried to minimize it and game crashed... and this happened to me for two times, also you can't skip intro dialog :pensive:. Anyway, I am going to rate this as one of the best rate in theme, graphics and music games I have ever seen. Congratulation.

Extremely impressive little artwork! Although few puzzles in it, I got a locket under pillow of sofa, obtained a pill, mixed a drink, gave it to Dr. Greatest storytelling I experienced this LD.

noobdude 2017-05-07 09:09

Amazing game, i wish i could have finished it , i found a little bug, i put the doctor to sleep but i could not see what he had in the box and when i accidentally clicked the doctor he woke up talked to me and then went straight to sleep, other than that it was amazing

A sad and very interesting adventure game. It is short, but it is well made. Well done.

arcticmattekar 2017-05-07 13:14

An interesting adventure game. Too bad it ended so abruptly, I never saw Sarah. I also didn't feel as if I had "tricked" the Doctor, it was more a "here drink this! Muahahha" ;)

It also seems that the game does not remember whether I already found something, or maybe all my drawers are just full of aspirin.

Overall, I had a lot of fun.

richard-michael-smith 2017-05-07 17:05

Wow. This is superb! I love that you have a similar (if not the same) font as used in the LucasArts adventure games. Not surprisingly the story is short (given the time constraints) but the game mechanics you have implemented here are excellent! High marks from me!

davikin92 2017-05-07 22:48

I liked how the story was developing and I was wondering how I would get the doctor to drink the "special beverage". I thought of putting it somewhere where he would usually drink from or maybe his personal box. I was also wondering what would happen when I finally used the doctor's computer and what I would need the aspirins for.

I see you had all this in mind and ran out of time, I would like to see it furtherly developed  Nice job!

freyby 2017-05-08 17:52

A nice looking point and click game that tell's us a sad story bout a guy and his wife (or girlfriend, exuse me if i get it wrong). Even tho it's pretty short, it's still a very polished and nicely done entry, amazing job!

jdmazz 2017-05-09 11:10

This game is pretty awesome for being made during Ludum Dare. True it is short, but it shows a good level of polish in a short time. If you kept the pace for one year, you would have a full adventure game on your hands.

icxon 2017-05-09 13:54

Since I restarted game four times (first time - a pressed Alt+tab and resolution got broken; second, third time -- I thought the game is glitched, since I clicked on sofa and then on Igor and there was no "Here is your locket" dialog option; fourth time -- to make a final playthrough) my main issue for now is unskippable into which takes almost full 2 minutes! I tried space, x, esc, enter and etc.

Second issue -- inventory.

Art style, texts and atmosphere is awesome. Nice job. Hope we will see a full game.

iluvatar 2017-05-09 15:11

@icxon Thank You kindly for Your feedback. I am aware of these bugs And I plan to fix it in the final post-LD version :-)

uchiro 2017-05-09 15:50

Very nice beginning and mood.

pikopik 2017-05-10 23:58

I wasn't expecting to see many graphic adventures, much less throwbacks to old lucasarts games. very nice work.

ryte2byte 2017-05-11 19:12

Very good and moody. The music really helps sell this 'last bastion of humanity' setting. Graphics are also excellent. The title screen is particularly striking!

I found it odd that some item descriptions don't change after 'taking' from them, like the locker constantly stating the you found your aspirin. I would like to click through the introduction at my own pace ('any key to continue') as opposed to waiting for a timer. I also like it in adventure games when I can double-click to instantly move to the connected scene. There are a couple typos (enought vs enough), but I kinda feel bad even mentioning them considering the amount of text you've got in here. It is a real shame the game ends where it does, but we all understand how demanding LD's clock is

tetristar-interactive 2017-05-12 03:11

I almost didn't play because of the title card. My god am I glad I downloaded anyway. Great art and wonderful music (plus I'm a sucker for point and clicks)!!

pascalman 2017-05-16 19:58

Great job!
