The idea works neat and it feels smooth. The graphics are simple but cute. The main problem for me is, that the difficulty doesnt increase, so it gets boring after 5 minutes. I even started to play while constantly pressing the boost to make it a tiny bit harder

Thanks for pointing that out, @ungew0llt. :) There was a bug preventing the spawns from becoming more frequent. I've uploaded a fix for this issue now. :)

Sun of a biscuit eater! What a cute little minigame!
It would have been kind of cool if there was a progression of some kind. Even something as simple as a "choose 3" with upgrades like: Brighter light, wider light, or faster boost.

The core gameplay loop was simple and easy to understand, and the implementation of this would smooth. It would be great to add more progression and complexity in the form of different enemies, multiple lights, increasing difficulty, etc. What did you enjoy most about building the game and what did you find most challenging?
The voices of the pirates when they are chased away by your light is really funny!

Hello fellow Lighthouse enjoyers! The game is very cool and in my opinion a great style for a game jam - simple, quick and fun. I first thought it's going to be a bit boring but it is surprisingly engaging. Maybe if you play for too long it gets a bit stale, but nevertheless I enjoyed it. The sound, especially the voices are great. I see out opted out audio, so I assume it's some stock audio, but it's okay, I still love it and I'm glad you chose it! The graphics is also very nice and the overall mood is rather cozy (considering the fact that you are getting raided haha).
Keep it up!
Yeah- very simplistic mechanic that works very well. Good job. Imo, that is a great structure for rogue lite mechanics with upgrades that improve your loadout to keep up with the game that is getting harder and harder.

Nice little game with a creative idea! :) The visuals and sound feel very cohesive. To keep it interesting over a longer time, it could use a bit more content.
Your gameplay is simple and straightforward. The turbo boost is very helpful when the light shines directly on the ship. And the pirates' comments are hilarious.
I liked it.
Congratulations!
Great little game, and funny! I shivered the timbers of many a biscuit-eaters before I met with Davy Jones's locker! ⚓
Looks nice with the beam swinging around in the night like a sonar. You definitely have to use the light to spot the ships, but I like that you can still see enough to make out their silhouettes after you've found them, since usually you'd have to swing the light back around to actually scare them off.
The sound of the waves is great, and the piratey music fits really well. But all those voice clips are the highlight! I'm guessing you've opted out of the audio category because you didn't make the music, but I'm sad I can't rate you for the voice lines :(
Gets quite difficult eventually. I'm guessing it's just about seeing how high you can score and that there's no special event that happens later? Otherwise I didn't get that far unfortunately.
Good stuff!
Great work! I really like the simple game mechanic and the idea overall, the art looks nice too! :flashlight:
