nice and great looking game loved the character designs especially the car seller. I liked the voices too

malcom-thonger 2023-05-01 12:17

Absolutely a Gem, visually very appealing, fun to play, the designs are all great, the only issue I ran into is near the end of the game the A and D keys stopped working and I then had to click to move all of a sudden. My only complaint is that it isn't longer!

antsa 2023-05-01 13:07

Lovely little story. I really liked how each character had their own personality and a small backstory I could dig into.

One thing that left me a bit sad was that I earned enough money for a new car by doing all of the deliveries, but then the game ended before I could go and buy it :(

Definitely would play more of this if the game was longer :P

vectrex28 2023-05-01 13:55

Hahahahahahaha Pitomio the Policeman!!! Great game as always - Witty dialogue, great graphics, and very polished presentation all around. Really like the little touches like honking the horn or buying new cars. Extra kudos for the music, especially the car dealership. Really impressed me. Either way, I was looking forward to your game and this one certainly didn't disappoint. It is your best LD submission that I played so far and the best I played in the Jam till now. Bravo

panekawastudio 2023-05-01 17:35

I love what you did with the voices ahahah. Thanks for that.

iluvatar 2023-05-01 17:49

@vectrex28 A best one? Wow, thank you! I think it is the best one "coding wise", but not as good as some of my typical "moody" games. But I definitely learned new mechanics along the way.

Pitomio was my little easter egg, and a way to detect czech Jammers haha. Thank you for playing my game, I seriously enjoyed yours!

nanixdev 2023-05-01 18:09

Very nice! There seems to be a lot of potential in this. The graphics look great. I understand that there was probably a cutting down of content because of the jam. I still thought there was a lot there. Well done!

senso 2023-05-01 19:16

Hihihihihi fun game to play. Bet you had a lot of fun voice acting :)

bayousoftware 2023-05-01 19:18

Love the graphics and the voice acting! Amazing how much youve done in 3 days!

brandon-campbell 2023-05-01 19:55

I want Miss Shabadoo to have what me and my lovely wife have. Seriously though, this game is really cute and engaging and I can't believe the level of polish and the amount of content you've achieved.

iluvatar 2023-05-01 20:44

@brandon-campbell Thank you! I think it was because of the extra day of work. I usually work only 48 hours but this time I took all three days to finish it. I just love having unnecessary details in games so I try to add them to my games too :)

PS: Don't worry, Miss Shabadoo isn't alone, she has a lot of... friends to help her with her... loneliness.

ludumdaredevil 2023-05-01 21:18

This game is amazing! The art is good, the characters are adorable, the sound effects are on point, the music sounded great, and the ability to buy gifts for you family was a nice touch. Overall very solid game. I think it has a good shot at winning. The only thing I can really complain about is that the car felt very choppy when driving around.

jiri-hysek 2023-05-01 21:26

Aww, voiceovers are so cute! Miss Shabadoo is my favorite :D

It was overall a nice game, my slime family is happy, and I have a nice green car. I hope that the police is not desperate because of me driving too fast ;) At least Pitomio has his coffee

No need to talk again about graphics, it's great as always :) Overall it felt very polished and finished experience. Great entry!

cinterre 2023-05-01 22:44

WOW! Really impressed with the amount of polish on graphics and sound. Liked all the little conversations with everyone. Appreciated the honk button and that it got a response. Super impressed overall.

Only other comment is I wasn't sure if something was supposed to happen after finishing all the deliveries.

vhalenn 2023-05-02 11:38

This is so cool ! The retro effect is so well done and everything is super clear ! Congrats for the awesome work !

tofucat 2023-05-02 19:35

I really like your art style. I would have liked to have felt like there was more of an 'ending' to it, or more jobs to pick up. I had a lot of fun playing your game. The music and the voices were great.

paul-avallone 2023-05-03 03:16

Amazing art style and animation. The dialog was really clever and funny. It ended kind of abruptly I bought chocolate but never got to deliver it to my kid. It really reminded me of the old point and click adventures I used to play when I was little. This was so well done you should make a full point and click adventure game. Fantastic job!

iluvatar 2023-05-03 07:18

@ludumdaredevil THANK YOU! I don't know about winning haha! I'm sorry about the choppy car, it has to do with the lowframe animations, that's solely a technical problem, which I'm not good at. I'm an artist and coding is really not my thing. I'm glad you liked my little side stuff, I love seeing these things in other games, so I try to do them in mine too :)

@jiri-hysek Thank you Jirko! I'm happy you liked the game. I really enjoyed yours too!

@cinterre Thank you for playing my game. Yeah, at the end there is a final message saying something like "All jobs are done, Thanks for playing this game." It was a very fast thing I did before released, it's super unpolished, but it is what it is I guess.

@vhalenn Thank you! :)

@tofucat Thanks! Yeah I know the ending is lackluster, but initially I planned to do the game as an open ended game, where you can grind endlessly, but I was afraid that people will not understand where the game stops. So I did this. It's really bad, but it was at the very end of development and I didn't have time. I learned from this, so next time it's gonna be better!

@paul-avallone Thank you for the feedback. I'm really sorry about the ending, it was a last-second decision and I didn't have time to polish it. It basically work on the variable "if all jobs done => end game". Not good. So the game is more about the journey than about the finish. Thank you for your kind words. I'm actually a point and click developer from Digital Mosaic Games studio. You can check some of our games - Metaphobia, Castle Dornstein (demo), Goblin's Journey (TBA) :)

stuembi 2023-05-03 15:05

Absolute lovely graphics! The background music is cute but the talking sound effects and the smooch sound are amazing. Just a well polished game all in all, really enjoyed it. Great job!!

chrissx2 2023-05-03 21:09

Even tho there isn't much going on gameplay wise, the artstyle, the atmoshpere, the music, sounds and the general design of the world were fantastic. Your game really brought me back to the 90's. Fantastic entry. Good job :)

aile 2023-05-04 11:39

I just love Beep Boop! I've seen your earlier entries, so was really excited to see what will it be this time.

Played the game with my kids and it was a huge success. They requested I read all dialogue out loud, and we opted for a green car at the end. They also really wanted to go beyond the scene, to see what more is there ;)

Feedback-wise I just think everything was more or less in harmony. One thing I especially loved were the quest/location markers. Can't go wrong when there's a huge red arrow floating up and down above the place!

The art and sounds were fantastic, but my personal favorite was the small details such as the baby picture on the wall. I was just sitting and grinning when I saw this haha :frame_photo: Lots of lovely details in the dialogue, too - "I ate a whole human today!". Perfect!

I try not to play favorites, but this game deserves a damn good score, so let's hope it will get it! Awesome work!

oddballdave 2023-05-04 14:11

Wow! So much work has gone into this. The dialog gave me a good chuckle. I managed to do all the jobs without much hassle. The graphics are obviously fantastic. All round a great entry.

Good stuff :8ball:

jim-jagers 2023-05-04 17:53

Great writing! Audio! And especially graphics, there wasnt a lot of gameplay which is fine since the main focus seemed too be on the writing and graphics where it delivers great results! Cant wait too see more of your work in the future

iluvatar 2023-05-04 21:18

@aile Thank you so much! I'm seriously happy that you played it with your kids. Originally, I wanted to also include some adult jokes, but after my 4yo daughter enjoyed play testing I realized it's actually a pretty children game haha.

@oddballdave Thanks! I'm glad my "jokes" made you laugh. It should be a very positive-vibe game so hopefully it delivered.

@jim-jagers Thanks, really appreciate these kind words. I'm not much of a gameplay guy, Im an adventure game developer, so it's something hard for me to try anything else on the jam, but this time I wanted to try something more than just dialogues and puzzles. Hopefully next time it's gonna be more exciting!

arron-fowler 2023-05-07 10:44

There is a lot of work here hidden under what looks to be pretty simple at first. I liked the writing and general game loop. The art was great too. Apart from the bugs as mentioned I had a really nice time in this suprisingly immersive world. Good work

xparker 2023-05-08 18:21

Love the audio / effects

Though I think I found a bug where you can give your "wife" flowers in spite of already having delivered them to the Ms Jojo-sister. but that might just b eme.

iluvatar 2023-05-08 19:35

@xparker Thank you for your feedback. Well, you can actually buy flowers how many times you want, so you can even give them to your wife like 10 times :)

python-b5 2023-05-09 06:27

This was great! Reminds me of old adventure games, though a bit more streamlined. Really charming to play!

Talking to the robot in front of the lab was a bit buggy for me; it would repeat "ACCESS DENIED" until I moved left or right, and often then I would move to the side of the map without pressing anything and leave the dialogue behind. I missed the text for completing that quest because of that!

iluvatar 2023-05-09 07:56

@python-b5 Hello, thank you for playing my game! I'm really sorry about the bug, I tried to fix it, but there was no time. I still have no idea what caused it. I think it was a combination of movement, key pressing and dialogue trigger, and I couldn't fix it.

xparker 2023-05-09 13:34

@iluvatar I only bought flowers once - for the quest next to the store (and delivered them). Then went home and could gain the effects of the flowers.

iluvatar 2023-05-09 15:01

@xparker Interesting. Thanks for letting me know. Maybe I forgot to add the function "Player Loses Inventory Item" upon finishing that quest.

jin9310 2023-05-11 07:16

Finally had a change to get to your submission and I am glad I did. The art is so cute and along with all the dialogs, music and voice acting! :D Amazing. I am always bit disapointed that these games are too short, but also impressed how you can so elegantly set the scene and the backstory and always leave the space for the player (me) to want more. Great Job as always David. Keep it up mate! "Beep boop"

ltyrosine 2023-05-15 21:03

Played the entire lenght, very cool little game here. Dialog/character style somehow remind me of Star Control 2. The robot breaking the 4th wall is a very nice touch. I was going to give 5/5 on music for I really loved it but I understand that is a 3rd party asset, right?

Overall amazing entry here, congrats.

oillen 2023-05-20 00:27

This is the best game you made in a Ludum Dare and my first time I need to hand out 5/5 on everything ... it has more gameplay as usual, is longer as most of the last 5++ entries and is the least linear game you made as far as I know. It is also somewhat a King's Quest 8 to your Point and Click Adventures - so there is something I can insult you with ;D ... I needed to play it three times, first time the science bot glitchbugged in a conversation loop, second time I won and the third time was necessary so my boy got his sweets.
