LD46 — Keep it alive

The Dumb Kid's Job by Yvanor 2020-04-23T20:33:37Z

I really like pretty much every aspect of the game. The fact that you managed to put an actual story line is a really nice touch, given the amount of time that we had. As others have said, a fitting background music would have tied everything togheter even more. Excellent job!

Whale Dive by vilcans 2020-04-23T20:22:04Z

I really love the fact that you made an actual Atari game, in such a short time too. The only thing that I didn't particularly like was the fact that the speed was a bit to high, such that it was quite unfeasible (for me at least) to rely just on reflexes to not die, as you would necessary need to perish a couple of times to get to know the level a bit and know what was ahead. Great job anyway!

Human Spiderweb by miziziziz 2020-04-20T20:20:54Z

I loved the concept of the game, but I felt that it was a bit clunky in general. On one side I really liked the models of the characters, but on the other I didn't particularly like the environment and its colors palette. Also, there were some small bugs when respawning, for which the flames were still on the characters. Nonetheless, most of the problems with this game just derive from the fact that there was a short time to do everything; I think that this could be expanded and become very interesting Cronenberg-esque horror game with the proper amount of time. Very good job!

The joys of parenthood by IronyGames 2020-04-20T15:52:40Z

Well, this was totally unexpected, in the best possible way. The only way this could have been better was with some more sounds, but it's extremely good as it is already. Excellent job!

The Machine at the Center of the Earth by p53 2020-04-21T12:43:18Z

I really like the art style and the animations, also the sounds were on point. The only thing I was not really enthusiastic about was the fact that there was no real way to tell what did the lights correspond to before getting to know the map a bit; maybe something a bit more explicative would have been better. Nonetheless, good job!

Adventure Watch by blearn 2020-04-23T20:05:44Z

It took me some time to understand it, and sometimes the objects were overlapping a bit too much, but overall the fact that you could intentionally hit the spike-things to deplete the timer was a nice thing. The art gets the job done well and is very consistent, and the sounds are used very well too. Good job!

The Tranquility by tgb20 2020-04-20T15:35:07Z

I love the overall style and all the characters of the ships. I found it a bit repetitive after a while and the objectives could have been a bit more diverse, but for an actual Gameboy game made in 2 days it's more than enough. Good job!

The Call of the Unicore by sndr 2020-04-21T18:21:05Z

I made a really similar game to yours, but mine lacks the quality of the graphics that you have put into it, ahahah. Anyway, I feel that the game would have been more challenging if there weren't pickups near the unicorn, so that you would have been forced to leave the main room once in a while. Also, it kinda lacks in player feedback when you hit an enemy. Great job anyway!

Keep Coron Alive by Qux 2020-04-21T18:05:13Z

Despite the quality of the graphics, I appreciated the originality of the game. With renewed graphics and more features it could be a nice smartphone game, good job!

Ballistica by SimonBeats 2020-04-23T20:43:55Z

I like the minimalistic graphics, but I found the game a bit unforgiving. I would have preferred to have more information before I had spent all my money in mysterious objects that were placed on the wrong side of the map. Also, the turret were very small, so clicking them was quite painful sometimes. Still, I liked the flow of the game and the fact that you have to aim the turrets gives it an interesting aspect that refreshes the tower-defense base. Good job!

Fish Escape by PinballJunior 2020-04-20T14:09:19Z

As simple as effective, exactly like the graphics. Very good job, you could totally expand this and add more features and levels!

The negotiator by Belea 2020-04-20T14:00:37Z

Lovely idea, absolutely original, but sometimes the game glitched out and I couldn't really read the dialogues. Excellent work anyway!

Keep It Afloat by ZeGGamer 2020-04-20T15:15:53Z

Lovely graphics and tight rock-throwing mechanic. I'm really impressed also by the variance of the birds and from the deterioration of the baloon, and also sounds are really nice. The only thing that could have been better is the background, like moving faster when the fire is on. Excellent job!

🌸 Conway's Garden Life by joonamo 2020-04-20T14:43:58Z

Very good looking user interface, also props for the leaderboard, it's a really nice touch. I think that a right choice of sounds could make it pop even more. Good job!

Hungry Henry by MayhemGaming 2020-04-23T20:19:01Z

It was a bit too difficult to click on the food to sling it, and sometimes the food got stuck in the borders of the screen, or it got out of it. It would be really nice to see pieces of food interacting with others, so if you swing one against another they would collide, and you'd got yourself a really weird 8-pool with food, ahahah. Good job!

KingdomKeeper by BGameDev 2020-04-20T15:07:52Z

I loved the concept, and click things felt satisfying. I also found it quite addicting, but after a while it kinda runs out of steam, but it's totally acceptable given the fact that it was done in 2 days. Nonetheless, a small tutorial or even just an explicative text would have been appreciated, and also sounds could have been used to convey more clearly if the week was really good or really bad. Excellent job!

It came from the sewers by Esben Jensen 2020-04-20T13:43:24Z

I like that the map (at least as it seems to me) is generated dynamically, and that you can win by going in more than a predefined path. The game lacks quite much in the graphics and in player feedback though, as it would have been nice to see the blob shriking when taking damage for example. Finally, I would have preferred a blob that ate houses and buildings instead of a vegetarian one, ahahah. Nice job!

The Ultimate Chicken Toaster by LeBossMax2 2020-04-23T19:56:37Z

I like the dark style of the graphics and the overall animations, but I found the sound effect of the flamethrowers quite annoying. You could totally expand this with more levels and content in the future, good job!

Tower Doffense by blint6 2020-04-20T14:51:53Z

I absolutely love the idea, and the simple graphics fit perfectly. My only real complaint is that being out of the boat is almost all the time better than being inside it, maybe going around on feet should have had more downsides. Other than this, I found a small bug for which if you keep attacking you can traverse the rivers without jumping. Excellent job!

Body Guards by Hcursino 2020-04-21T14:47:03Z

I really liked the overall idea, and I'm always happy to see cards in non-card games. The amount of content that you managed to crank into this is also quite remarkable given the time that we have. The only complains that I have are that despite the tutorial some things were not really clear, like the costs of the units and the way in which DNA coins are given (since it seemed that the more I resisted the less I had). Very good job anyway!

Coffee Beast by KneehatGames 2020-04-20T13:53:10Z

I loved the originality of this, and I really liked the environment and the wheels-thing-dude. There were some flaws in the music loop and in the camera/movement, but it's overall very nice, good work!

Keep her alive! by Rirdeg 2020-04-20T15:45:03Z

I liked the overall idea of the game, its best parts were surely the choices at the end of each level. The gameplay itself feels quite clunky though, and I found it difficult to understand when the zombi-esque dagger enemies were actually attacking me. Good job anyway!

Offering by sanjuro 2020-04-20T14:17:58Z

@kneehatgames I had the same idea, but sadly I didn't have time to add it, so I just made that from time to time it gives you items, thank you anyway! @pinballjunior I noticed that, but I didn't have anyone to playtest it, so I found it quite difficult to regulate the difficulty :( @alininavcisi What do you mean? There should already be music in the background

Offering by sanjuro 2020-04-23T20:50:46Z

Thank you all so much for the great feedback and the kind words!

@rirdeg I would have loved to implement a move mechanics like a dash or a roll, I agree that it would have made the game much more smooth, but I couldn't fit it in with the time given sadly.

@pabricka I'm very glad that you noticed that little thing <3

@cjgammon I don't think I ever got stuck in a wall while playing it, I shall check a bit better if I can make it happen again and eventually fix it.

@misterkeefe You're absolutely right, it is a bit too weak given his deity powers, its health decays way too fast to keep up with it as I had intended initially.

@iluvatar I agree, by playing a bit more after some days I noticed that the game is unbalanced on the difficulty side, and it's quite a shame since I put other enemies and items after the first phases of the game.

Vital Signs by Houdou 2020-04-20T15:24:52Z

I really love the graphics, very aesthetically pleasing. I would have preferred to have some more time before dealing with the third part, to get more acquainted with the second one, but overall it's really solid. Good job!

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Grinding Gears by Pincushion 2020-10-05T14:06:07Z

Great job with doing this in only two days, it's very polished and the underlying concept is call. The only thing that I didn't appreciate is that I never looked at the main screen, only at the minimap basically, so maybe that should have been more balanced in a way. Good job!

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Claustrowordia by Antti Haavikko 2022-04-13T11:20:51Z

This is as good as it gets when it comes to jam games, it could be basically sold as it is and nobody would complain, excellent job!

Cut for Power by hexkritor 2022-04-13T11:46:38Z

As a fan of card games I enjoyed the game and I really like the Cut and Combine mechanic, it is very original and it could be expanded more, great job!

Jupiter Station - v0.5 by Kyra Sanchez 2022-04-13T11:04:45Z

Very nice work considering that it was done in 48 hours, the mechanics were interesting and the balance was acceptable. Some love in the graphics and sound departements could go a long way, great job!
