Itch link doesnt seem to be working
Sadly can't play this due to the link being a 403 error. Let us know when it's all working and we can give it a ride!
@kontroman @rustywolf @neonlare The itch.io page was in draft mode :face_palm: It should be working now, thanks!
I really like this take on the theme. I think it would be helpful to have the instructions visible on the screen somewhere, though
@rustywolf Thanks for playing! You can hit escape to pause and see instructions (but I'm now realizing that escape also toggles fullscreen, which is probably not good). Was planning to put UI above the mailmen's heads, but time got the best of me.
The motion of the dog and mailman is so cute! The perspective of the theme was interesting and it made me feel warm and fuzzy.
@zundou This was my first time having a proper go at 3D rigging and animation, so I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for the kind words!
Funny and cute, just what I needed after 72 hours of work. :)
The dog barking sounds cracked me up! I liked the dog animations as well
Really fun idea with a really cool art style! I found the dog to be quite unruly, though, almost as if I was driving a car or something which hindered the gameplay. Put that is something that can be fixed if you so wish fairly easily, just a bit of experimenting and such. Great submission!
Controls are a bit odd and unintuitive, and the mailmen were coming a bit quick at the start to actually learn the mechanics, maybe have it ramp up a bit after the start and giving the player enough time to learn a new mechanic before giving them a new one. Otherwise pretty good idea and take on the theme.
Funny game! Cute 3d art, nice to see animations! The controls and camera sadly got in the way of me actually delivering the mail though :) But I like the core gameplay idea
@ricardo-palma Awesome, thanks for playing!
@guin36 Me, 40 hours into the compo, barking into my microphone, slowly losing my mind
@glove @rasblo Controls could definitely be improved. Mainly I think the camera should affect movement, and the turn radius should be tighter.
@elementary The screens for introducing the mailmen are timer-based, but they should probably be points-based.
Thanks for the feedback!
The music sets a really good mood. The game was a bit tough maybe due to the controls, but I liked the tutorial and playing around getting the different mailmen to drop their mail. It's a nice take on the theme!
Very funny idea! The mouse controls are a bit janky, but it works. The animations of the dog are done very well and I like the nice background musik.
I love this concept! That's great how different tactics/patterns needed to used against various types of mailmen. There's something just very different and fun about controlling a dog and being able to sit/bark/view the world from a different perspective. Nice work on your game!
The idea is fun and I did have fun trying it. It is a bit difficult to control the dog, and learning how to play take a bit time. The game would maybe have been more fun if it was a bit more simple, but I am not sure about that. Overall is this an interesting and fun little jam game. Well done.
so i actually quite enjoyed this concept! playing as a doggo chasing down mailmen, the animations were cute and playful... but my goodness those controls are unruly! lol the camera and dog are suuuper hard to handle and very frustrating. The music was actually nice too and the atmosphere is right where it should be. Would love to see more ways to use the dog to deliver things to his master from the neighborhood and almost untitled goose game use your barks wags and other tricks to get what you need! nice game!
the goodest boy, the different kind of mailmans add enough dept for a compo entery. nice game had fun
Fun idea, reminds me of the PS2 classic Dog's Life! Controls are a bit janky here and there, but that's not too much of a problem. I still managed to steal some newspapers from a lot of mailmen. Well done!
This was a cute game! Very original idea! The controls were a bit difficult, I'm not sure if it was just me but the mouse/camera seemed strange to control and perhaps a bit sensitive. Tank controls are a choice I can respect since it makes the game more difficult (especially trying to turn around to drop the mail), but I think something more modern would shift the difficulty entirely to managing the horde of mailmen, which is what the game seems to be about. Great work!
Interesting mechanics and fun idea. I felt the controls a bit cumbersome, the camera turned around like crazy and turning around was a challenge. What I didn't like though is the loosing screen, they are always good boys, despite anything.
Such a camera... It's something just unplayable. Instead of new people, it would be better to make the camera not so nauseating that at least game could be played...
And if we talk about the game... One people - one approach, and the other - another approach... Well, okay). But if it wasn't for the camera, then it could be played. Not bad for a Compo. Good luck to you!
I like the art, sound and the idea of the game. It's a bit difficult to control and i couldn't get more than a few points. It starts off a bit to hectic maybe a slower start would be better.
