Fun idea for a puzzle game! I really like this mixture of the serving/restaurant genre with this type of puzzle. It's relaxing to be able to move at your own pace, but still try to serve each customer in as few turns as possible. I hope you decide to keep working on this one after the jam. Great work! :)

I love the concept and i can definitely see this as the kind of thing i would sink hours into when it's more polished. As it is, I was a little confused about how exactly to place the cats and what exactly would cause a failure. I think it has a lot of potential, and definitely does what it says!

I think we should remove the requirement to place cats in the corners of squares like for cats!

netarion 2023-10-03 21:19

A bit confusing at the start, lack of an prévisualisation for the placement and a button to restart the game ingame when you have made a mistake, but definitely fun to play.

Thank you all so much for your feedback! I've added a cat placement guide now @netarion as well as a restart button :) I'm hoping to add a slightly better system for scoring as well to encourage people to complete customers back-to-back and in the same turn

With a catchphrase like that, how could I NOT play this game when it popped up on my feed? Neat little game. Not too stressful. It wasn't clear I needed to surround customers diagonally as well. Once I understood, it became clear what to do. It's a bit of a shame there is no reward for completely clearing the board of customers, because now I'm placing cats randomly until a customer shows up, but otherwise, nice execution!

aetherswitch 2023-10-04 18:32

@tomrijnbeek that's a really, really good point and its something I identified in my playtesting. I'm planning on figuring out a solution to this, I'm thinking a simple check to see if there's a customer present and, if not, force one to spawn. I'm also planning on revamping the scoring system too so I think those'll both be in v1.2 :) Thanks so much for your feedback!

very cool concept. Who doesn't love to be surrounded by cats? One thing I noticed that for me the text was WAY too small. Additionally I wasn't shown what the next block--er I mean cat would be. Instead it showed me my current block. Other than that I was just as satisfied as all the customers at the Capurrcino Cat Cafe.

aetherswitch 2023-10-04 23:23

@super8bitrafa ahh that's a holdover from the previous iteration where there was no guideline (or should that be guide**cat**?) showing the next piece to drop. It was never intended that the player could see two cats into the future but I could definitely add that. I think the way it would change the strategy would be really cool actually! Would require quite a bit of code changing but I may give it a go! :) I'm really glad you enjoyed the game!

Cute and great idea for a puzzle game! Wish there was some sound for added feedback and atmosphere.

aetherswitch 2023-10-07 14:18

@silkworm-sweatshop there is sound! It's just that Unity starts it muted by default on their site. One bug to note (that I don't think as I can fix as it's to do with how Unity host games) is that you have to mute and unmute the background music after unmuting the game player (bottom right for game player, top left for background music). Hopefully you can get the audio working :)

silkworm-sweatshop 2023-10-07 14:20

@aetherswitch I see! I tried it again with the sound and it makes a big difference. :cat:

Very cute, I love that all the cats have names.

fannevada 2023-10-10 11:45

So cute and good idea ! I like cats so I give you bonus points

annoyed-galaxy 2023-10-11 16:03

I love the aesthetic and I really like that you took the approach of Tetris-like puzzle for the theme of the game jam. Really like how each cat has a name and the idea of just surrounding customers with them is cute.

Very simple and cute game! It would be nice if the number of turns left was more clearly indicated, but the game is great otherwise. It's very nice that the "time" is handled by number of turns instead of time so that you can think about each move for as long as you need to.

The cat theme, along with noises, is incredible cute
