I enjoyed the game overall, it is simple but fun and I like the music. Graphics is Ok, but the scenes with black background could be made nicer. :)
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD52 → Chronos: Harvest Time

Wow, I really enjoyed this one. The gameplay is simple, but well thought out. The enemies to reward ratio for harvesting or not harvesting is close to perfect. Great job overall! One of my favs.
Oh man, that's an amazing difficulty curve as more and more plants start growing, and thus Gaea getting to more of them, and how that changes your focus to miss even more plants! I'll never be forgetting mother's day again :p
I really like that you don't get ressources out of the enemies and they "steal" one when they spawn. Makes it actually a goal to stay on top of harvesting. Nice work!
We must continue in this direction, it is by doing that we learn
This is a really cute game. Satisfying gameplay loop with a nice, quick difficulty ramp. I got completely swarmed right at the beginning of my first run, but then better understood how to go about it and subsequent runs went better. The character design is nice too, especially the title character. The bonuses are a nice touch, as well- I was not ready for that giant scythe :D I did have a few instances where the scythe didn't seem to properly register hits on enemies.
The difficulty has a nice balance, and I like the mechanic that either you harvest them early or get more enemies later.
Good entry!
Nice game loop.
@indivisibleparticles Thanks for the comment! Yeah I didn't end up having time to make the menus look better, oh well.
@bklolo Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
@cievers I'm glad you liked the difficulty, it's always hard to balance Jam games right, it seems like I did it right this time :)
@misterixi Thank you! In retrospect I should have made it more clear to the player that they only score points for harvesting, not for killing monsters. I'm glad that you got it though!
@matimat Thank you? I have no idea how to respond to that :)
@fc85057 Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you liked the difficulty curve, it's challenging to get that right in Jam games. Yeah the big scythe can get a bit buggy... but it was just too funny to me so I had to go with it.
Fun little game, reminds me of the flash games I used to play many years ago.
Cool idea and a fun melee combat system! The wind-up on the player and enemy attack animations is satisfying and really helps you dodge effectively. The giant scythe upgrade is fun. I like the increasing difficulty and carrot-shooting bosses later on. I thought the bonus heart system was really well done, too, and all the various mechanics just fit together nicely. Great job on your jam game!

Nice job! It's a cool idea and the game feels very nice. The animations and art look good. Every swing of the scythe looks and feels nice.
A few things that could have been improved: - The difficulty level stops or doesn't grow fast enough. I think after 100 it no longer grows. You could create more plants in a level with each point. - Bonuses need to be marked and reduced their number. For example they could be special plants - tomatoes, peppers, etc.
Fun little game with a simple but quickly escalating mechanic. I liked that you managed to get the second enemy in (the carrot shooting one) as it added a nice variety to the gameplay. Got quite chaotic towards the end I managed to harvest 91 after my third try - the circling around the hoard was working quite well for me. I really liked the music, it was well put together and not repetitive. Would have been nice to get a couple of sound effects in there too though.
Nice Entry :)
