I liked the game, there was a problem in order to get into the tractor, it does not work right away. The mechanics and styling are excellent.
I was not able to enter the tractor. However, the artwork is really good, so it was nice to walk around the map for a couple minutes.
You got quite a lot done for the time frame! The farming mechanics are good and I love the hats and all the art. I was surprised that there's also an world map where you go to sell.
A great start of a game that definitely has promise if you decide to keep working on it!
Love the name, art style, and the way the harvester vehicle works. Also the shades and hats were such a nice touch!
pleasant and satisfying game That was nice to play !
Cute start to a game! It has all the piece for a fun little farming sim. I'm sure it wasn't on purpose, but driving the car sideways was funny. Keep working on it and it should be really good!
I love the art! The controls were a bit weird at first but after getting used to it they were fine. It could become a nice fully fledged game if you keep working on it. Good luck!
Looks neat! I don't have too much to say since, like you said it's a prototype and I'm sure you already have lots of ideas on what to change, though I will say some sound would go a LONG way to add to the *vibe*.
The core harvesting loop of this was pretty enjoyable. And the return on investment... well that was nice too. There's something enjoyable about having thousands of crops... even if the unit of measurement is a bit undefined. (I harvested thousands of grains, I tell you. Thousands!)
I may not have explored all the mechanics but I would have enjoyed seeing other types of farming vehicles. Especially if you could hook the money into an upgrade system. I may just want to enjoy a crop duster using your mechanics... but I think there are other cool things you could do with it too.
Overall, I enjoyed my visit to the mystical land of Ontario, Canada. Thanks for inviting us to play with your game!
Great work on completing a fun gameplay loop that you can build on after the jam! Being able to drive around town and deliver your crops is a simple idea, but actually really fun in practice. The plow/seed/water/harvest controls are fun, and I like the small details like the harvester attachment flipping around in front of you when it's being used.
Do you have plans to expand your game after the jam? I think you could do a lot with the driving/city mechanics where maybe you're delivering specific food to specific business/houses, and driving to other supply stores and upgrade shops to buy new tools, seed types, etc.
Nice game, I like the graphics. Would be more realistic if you would need to wait for the crops to grow before harvesting them. Also I've found some bugs: 1. I don't know how, because I couldn't reproduce it, but at my first run, I was riding the the tractor equipment without the tractor. The tractor was in its starting point, non moving, and the equipment was the one I could go into, but it didn't interact with the field. 2. You use LMB, not RMB to change the hats :)
But overall, nice game.
I'm impressed with what you were able to get done! It all works decently well, and it was honestly enjoyable to play. There is something simply satisfying about progressively tilling and sowing a field.
I absolutely missed the car to the left the first time I played, so you might want to think of ways to bring that to the player's attention (either make sure it is in frame to begin with, or maybe an arrow pointing in that direction). I absolutely loved that you had a little town view for me to drive around in. I can see that growing into something with a lot of other stops and sites! Very cute.
In terms of priorities, the hat cosmetics were a neat thing to play with, but I'm not sure they added a whole lot to the game. You might have been able to use that time on something a little more integral. (This is coming from the guy that spent a good 2 hours adding player character options in LD50 as a sort of personal mission haha!)
Nice game, you've got some cute graphics and the beginnings of a good game here. Well done!
