Cool idea!

mocadium 2023-10-03 04:57

This was a fun idea, loved the graphics :)

koxsol 2023-10-03 04:58

The Idea is pretty cool, reminds me of super paper mario from the Wii. The problem is the control really like to get stuck, and things like pushing boxes can get a little iffy.

Overall great concept tho.

I do not see the need of 2D mode if we can jump in the 3D mode, since 2D mode only change the camera, but unlike fez, the movement in 2D mode is still in 3D.

I really like this one! I love the 2D spike mechanic and having the ability to drag and push boxes to reshape the level in 3D. I also like the really interesting and creative restrictions such as limiting jumping to 2D mode and dragging to 3D mode. This feels really different than most 2D/3D-toggling games to me, and I bet you could expand that in a lot of fun ways if you decide to build on this game in a post-jam version. Great job designing such a mechanically dense game in a short jam!

Cool concept. What I would collide with when in 2D mode was unclear at times. The graphics completely glitched out when I switched from 2D to 3D (I was still able to play but things were clipping really strangely).

I liked this one! The controls felt like they were on odd keys (to me). What might have caused less confusion is just having a single "action" button, that jumped in 2D, and grabbed in 3D :D. The last level was interesting, had to swap perspective mid-air multiple times to get the keys :P. Nice work!

I love the character model and animations, very cute. I haven't played a game with this concept of switching between 2D and 3D before, so giving a high rating for innovation! Level 1 was straightforward, but I have been stuck on Level 2. I'm not exactly sure how to get up top. Bringing in audio/sfx would bring the game to the next level. Overall great entry!

@amirrajan I really dont know what happened :(.. i never had this glitch but thanks for your feedback

pro4 2023-10-03 05:15

I really enjoyed the switching between 2D and 3D for this platformer. My only complaint was that the third? level had two many sections back to back where the safe zone between spike stripes was only one tile wide (the width of the character). I kept narrowly touching the spike stripes as I jumped over them in 2D. The core mechanic of swapping between view modes was really clever and I could definitely play a more fleshed out version of this. Nice work!

teamelon 2023-10-04 21:41

Overall, the game is great.

I really love the concept of switching between 2D and 3D, but I encounetred one problem. Sometimes the character get stacked between blocks in 3D mode, but it wasn't a big problem.

I would like to play more levels of your game.

mmayans 2023-10-05 22:20

I loved the switching mechanic, super innovative, and for the most part, switching between 2 and 3d worked really well. The different actions (jumping vs box pushing) in 2d vs 3d was a cool way to implement 2 different modes.

mooptychunk 2023-10-06 02:02

Fun to figure out the best way to mix the mechanics together. Freezing mid air as you switch views feels really nice! Who cares about themes anyway?

thi4guer4 2023-10-06 13:32

That's a really cool idea, I like how both perspectives mechanics complement each other.

laserpanzerwal 2023-10-06 18:15

I like the idea, though the 2D mode would make more sense if it wasnt just a camera shift. From the 2D perspective I was running through spikes though they were actually on a different tile. Controls are a bit janky imho, but the concept is very nice.

lebossmax2 2023-10-07 08:01

The concert and graphics are nice but I think that the 2D/3D mechanic doesn't work well. When you are in 2d, you have the same collisions as in the 3d world so its hard to tell if you'r going to fall throug blocks / touch spikes. I ended up using the 2d mode only to jump and switch to 3d immediately

natano 2023-10-12 15:04

That game has a really great concept! The idea of switching between 2D an 3D is very creative! I played some levels, but it was a little difficult because the jump bugs a lot. Sometimes I pressed the J key, but it almost didn't leave the floor, i had to press it too many times to make the jump...

Besides that, i loved the character, something like a computer mixed to a mouse? Idk, but it's really cute.

madbarron 2023-10-15 15:41

I'm stuck on level two :( I keep getting stuck when walking on tiles: this shouldn't be happening if you are using a sphere or capsule collider for the character

dk-game-labs 2023-10-17 06:03

Intresting idea with 2d/3d, game has pretty graphics but unfortunately there are no sounds. Overall It is nice entry!

t-c 2023-10-19 00:22

Neat game! A little rough around the edges but the idea was executed quite well, Jumping felt great, pushing and pulling blocks: not so much. Also had some troubles with clipping on things that I shouldn't have. The levels were very interesting and explored the mechanics well. There were some points where you had to spam switch, and that felt a bit tedious, but mostly very fun to play. Cool idea, nice work!
