Not bad, not bad :) I like your art. Fun factor is not high at this game, but maybe next time you will think more about that and it will be better. Original game mechanics, I like your inovations. Averagly fit into the theme..
One last note: I always write down honest review, because everybody need that, not just nice craps with some bullshit, but sometime I will appreciate very good games. So if this review insult you, but use it well :) Anyway every game is counting so :)
Game is very lagging when embedded on my m1 mac :(
Some aspects of the game were very fun, guns felt very good, sword hits were heavy, vfx were nice. Other things like sound were problematic to say the least. I love the rules mechanic as an idea, but I felt a lot of the rules were just unfun, or at least I was walking backwards more often than forwards :P Besides that, great game!!
Impressive work for a first game jam, lots of polish with the particle effects, screen flashes and such. A little buggy in some places. The 'interact' button didn't seem to work for me, with the chest and the NPC at the beginning for example. The embedded version cut off the UI at the top so it was hard to tell what the active rules were at any given time. All that said, this is really great work and a fun game. Good job!
game feels nice to play, but many times i went up being stuck on top of walls having to wait for a new "run through wall" effect. sprites are nice. and oh god inverse movements is a hard penalty to have haha
The idea is nice but there is modifiers that break the game (walk throught walls & i finish sutck in it ^^) It has a good potential goo job !
Nice job! The artwork was very very cute. I agree that some element of 'fun' was missing. I can't say what for sure, but it wasn't very satisfying to play. Maybe the sword fights were a little slow, and the corridors a little narrow for the gun. Maybe also the lack of music? Hard to say.
As far as the controls, maybe you intended controller? Certain objects said to interact with 'A', but it ended up being Space on keyboard. Also, not a big fan of the "controls changing" idea, as I'd rather just wait it out than try and invert my mind :) I've never looked into the Top Down Engine .. how was it to use? Maybe our team could have saved some time using that instead of coding our own.
Those were just some design nits, but overall, you achieved your goal! So good job!
