A great take on the theme, and surprisingly fun!

Really interesting take on the theme! Will be good, if you can see time of orders(or at least the ones that has only a little time left), when going to the tables. And a clearer showing of what gave you strike would be usefull

Cool game

benmcnelly 2021-10-04 17:17

I am a fan of this type of game, nice work!

yogurtthehorse 2021-10-05 08:42

Great idea for a such theme. It took me a few minutes to understand the game is endless x)

nebrazif 2021-10-05 08:45

Sir you just dropped my drink ! Nice concept, fun game 😁

mishaniks 2021-10-05 09:43

Nice prototype! I really like the idea and visual presentation. Physics rules the world) The game is exactly about something "unstable"

Wow, great artwork, gameplay is really fun too! I can't belive it, we had the same idea : ) Check out my waiting game @yamzho

Very novel idea!

I really liked the center of gravity thingy and the overall concept of the game. Sounds would have been awesome for the mood.

I didn't get though, if it is beneficial if you have multiple orders on the same plate. It felt like this is what I should be doing and have a full balanced plate, but after all there was no obvious advantages of that, to doing them all sequentially.

Loved the tutorial art work!

Cute artstyle and handwriting, and cool 2D-center-of-gravity concept! Dragging the drinks rather than clicking to pick up and drop would probably have helped with the feeling of grabbing and serving them.

Very cool idea. I really liked using "balance" as a way to interpret the theme (and totally not because I also did that for my entry). The art was charming and easy to read quickly, which is important for this type of game. Your excellent grasp on UI and screen-space also helped with that!

I did find myself waiting until the very last minute to actually finalize an order, because it seemed like orders would fly in immediately. A benefit/reward for completing orders early might've prevented me from delaying orders.

I think it would've been really cool if some of the drinks were visibly way-heavier or way-lighter. I think that would've added more strategy to the balance section. OR (and I'm spitballing, so feel free to ignore me) there could be things like ingredients or coasters to increase the weight of a drink order.

Anyway, had a lot of fun with this one. Great work!

Neat little game, I usually brought with me as many orders as you could but I'm not sure if it benefitted me in a way. Theme was on point, ty for the game.

bamberga 2021-10-07 16:56

I really enjoyed the aesthetic of this, but found the metaphor a bit confusing.

it took me a while to realize that i had to take the drinks off my tray when i got to the table.

thiago-nascimento 2021-10-07 17:09

Pretty cool

Having to install java was bit of an annoyance. 😅

Loved the art style. Could have used some movement too and obviously some audio to back up the visuals. Controls wise I really would have preferred if it was drag and drop instead of click and then needing to click again. The drink images while grabbing them could have been a bit bigger too to ease returning them to the order sheet.

The idea was super neat and pretty well made. I really did not grasp how the strike system worked at all. I was always clicking on green and on later runs I managed to keep the balance well too so I always had that wide green area. But still the strikes just appeared for unknown reason. Really would have helped to see when you were getting the strikes to understand what I was doing wrong. This ended up being my best run.

Sometimes when going to deliver there were some strike symbols on top of the green lines. Was this me receiving strikes and if so, why? 🤷‍♂️ Anyway, always the game ending strike was gotten out of the blue while just loading/unloading the tray and while none of the order timers were getting depleted.

At first it was quite unclear that the things needed to be put back too after delivering. Doesn't really make much sense story wise either that you're coming back from delivering the drinks and you still have them on your tray for some reason. What do the customers never accept their drinks and you pour them back to bottles? 😆 Or was it the waiter walking to the table and then giving out the orders? If so, it doesn't make any sense that you can first load up everything, then walk to all the tables one by one and deliver them at once when there. Does this bar have only one table where all the customers are sitting at? 🤔

It was possible to dupe drinks if you grabbed one as an order was clearing above. Then the order where you had grabbed a drink from moves up and the already grabbed drink becomes grabbable again. So you end up with one extra one which you can't ever get rid of.

Making the balance stay at the center was actually very easy as it was completely grid based and even though I think there was some kind of weight system, they didn't differ that radically to matter much.

Anyway, good job! 👍

A java game (^o^) ! Nice job (^^). I totally missed the point of making the balance at the center at first :p So it was pretty hard ~(^^"~). But after getting fired multiple time it got easier :yum: Good job :)

erikkire 2021-10-13 19:06

Looks fun, want to try but the windows link just have images and .class files. How do I start that?

yamzho 2021-10-14 05:18

@erikkire Hi there ! You need java installed. The ".java" file is an executable file and not an archive.

wafflesys 2021-10-17 10:58

Very fun game. A bit hard to read the instructions ^^ but overall the graphics look nice. I find it more difficult to keep up with the pace of commands than making the actual tray balanced. I didn't understand at first that I had to take the glasses of the tray. I enjoyed playing it, thanks and well done!

rjmarzec 2021-10-21 09:00

A nice little game! I really liked the art style, and I think the theme works really well! I would have loved a reason to increase the difficulty, but still a fun experience to try out.
