Good entry, particularly the slow motion when you get hit and the music.

The game has its charm. The simplistic visuals with the neon colors really add to the experience. The gameplay is pretty original also. Overall this is a pretty solid entry! Great job <3

The Art and music concept is super cool, i really liked it. But the game was way too hard for me. After some point, it was too fast, so i just sat there and watched the art and enjoyed the music track.

We like the concept, it's funny and quite innovative. We also like that you have to make a whole sentence. However, we find the shielding mechanic a little unintuitive since you have to block out the letters you DON'T want instead of choosing the ones you do want, and my brain wants to do the opposite. Apart from that it feels like sometimes letters reach the middle but don't count for the word, but maybe that's on me  The sound design is also pretty neat, though!

Great work!

The game is a liitle hard but really impressive and innovative. Music will accelerate with the raise of difficulty which makes you focus. Good job!

There is a problem that the game crashed when playing. Maybe it's because gameobjects were not released completely.

@hypertheory Thanks for playing our game! Next weekend we might have time to do some profiling to identify and fix the issue. Stay awesome! :sunglasses:

Cool idea and plays pretty nice despite simple graphics. Different fonts, dynamic pitch and all that stuff makes it move!

I love the feel of the game, although I am pretty bad at it haha.

Great music and sounds, especially with the slowmo. Great concept. keep it up!

(check out my game if you have some spare time! <3 )

I really liked the audio on this one! The neon aesthetic is cool too I was little confused about how much to misspell the target words - do things that are close to 100% accuracy but miss it slightly get the highest score? Overall simple and deceptively challenging.

Very interesting!

A challenging but addictive game! I love the music (it sounds like a delicious mix between The Binding of Isaac sound track and the wide Putin meme sound track lol) and the way the tempo changes when you spell a word. Still not completely clear on when I am meant to be mis-spelling words though, as I hit an error in the tutorial (`Uncaught RuntimeError: float unrepresentable in integer range`) so dived straight into the game.

The concept is really fun and I enjoy the fact that you aim for letters that you *don't* want: though unintuitive at first, I think this is the brain-bending bit that makes this game really fun. The retro-style graphics are cool and I think given more time, it would have been cool to polish them further. Nice work on this!

Unique concept! Sound design was neat and the graphic were stylish. I also got a WebGL memory error once I hit ~10 words or something. It also gets so fast all I ended up doing was rapid spinning the shield to not get letters as fast.

yogurtthehorse 2021-10-09 17:53

So, I like the music, but not quite understand how should I misspell...

weine 2021-10-09 18:22

This was an incredibly strange experience. It looks super easy when you start, but once you inderstand the game mechanics you realize that getting a high score require increadible skills and reaction times. Not really my kind of game, but still surprisingly complex and well done!

gryhyphen 2021-10-10 08:06

@micheldever Nice catch on that bug! We will take a look. Could you tell us more about how to reproduce the error?

chaosbrick 2021-10-14 18:34

I feel like I'm tripping. This is a very strange concept implemented in a very strange way. Even the method to choose letters from a pool is strange? Hello? I'm certain that's exactly what you were going for, so good job on that! I especially liked how the characters came in different fonts with absolutely no order to them, and the game got me laughing quite a few times about how I was "spelling" certain words on accident. Unfortunately the game crashed for me in the tutorial as well as at what I presume is the end of the sentence, so I kinda had to do some guesswork on how the game actually works, but given how weird everything is in this entry anyways, that didn't even detract from the experience.

vladadamm 2021-10-18 18:51

The concept is pretty unusual and I didn't expect that at all. Despite the graphical style being very minimalist, the animations did great in making the game look. The music was also quite good. On the downside, I think the biggest issue was the game's length, as the concept is pretty simple, quite repetitive and it's supposed to be a scoring game so runs have to be somewhat short imo to repeat runs and try for high score. I kept at it until making a dozen words, then I let the game run in background to reach the end faster, before the game crashed after ~30 words I'd say. But reaching that point felt very long already, and I don't know if I was close or not to the end.

adam-martin 2021-10-19 04:25

Loved the use of different fonts and letter stylings.

chromableedstudios 2021-10-19 07:25

I liked the idea, but I couldn't quite figure out the mechanic. Maybe a different animation for the 'blocked' letters vs the accepted one or something would help make clear what happened. The moving lines on the background was cool but sort-of distracting(maybe that was the intention though?). Music was awesome and loved the effect where it sort of slowed down. When I gave up on trying to figure out the mechanic and went to the tutorial I got a stack trace :(
