Was a ton of fun!! yall did Great , the graphics and art was amazing and it felt very clean and smooth to play <3

cinderblade 2021-04-27 01:26

ton of fun to play, could have used a small tutorial on how to play. death screen is on point

frompdx 2021-04-27 01:31

The graphics and audio are great! Gameplay is tricky and I agree with @cinderblade that a small tutorial might help. Kind of tricky to get the hang of.

flayff 2021-04-27 01:38

We are sorry about the missing tutorial, this was our first jam and the time was little missplanned, so the tutorial is just the description and explanation here on the LD page. Thank for your criticism and compliments!

catrocket 2021-04-27 01:55

Thanks for the nice comments! :)

sapazu 2021-04-27 01:58

Have to give respect for making 3d game in short jam. Music was great and fun gameplay

mockthebear 2021-04-27 03:52

Drilling holes in planets and going deep in to space... Nice concept!

kr0s 2021-04-27 06:43

Nice and dynamic game, easy to learn and difficult to master. Gamepad also works great.

quite-good 2021-04-27 06:53

Wow!! Really unique gameplay. The interesting mechanics and the incredible soundtrack are what stood out to me the most.

rocket-and-blanky 2021-04-27 09:04

The minimap was a really cool alternate way to play the game :D

blanky-and-rocket 2021-04-27 09:08

This is one of the most fun games I've tried out tonight! Really well done and super polished for 72 hr!!

nablaz 2021-04-27 12:08

I have to admit that I had some trouble at the start trying to understand what I needed to do... Once I got it, the game was fun! Nice graphics and polished design! Plus, digging through space gave me serious TTGL vibes... ;-) Is the music original/made specifically for the jam, or did you use existing tracks and made the sound effects? Cheers!

nalquas 2021-04-27 12:38

Nice arcade-y game. Liked the background music a lot, but it stopped playing after a while (bug?). The controls feel really intuitive, definitely an easy-to-learn, hard-to-master type of game. Good job

flayff 2021-04-27 12:43

Thanks for all the compliments we really appreciate it, specially for our first jam!

@nalquas sadly yes, our audio manager has a bug that sometimes the music just gets corrupted, couldn't figure it out, sorry

@nablaz we are sorry for the missing tutorial :D it didn't make it in time. And our full audio is completely self made specially for the jam by a friend of us. We linked his SoundCloud, go check him out!

Edit: I just you realised that you mean with TTGL Gurren Lagann is that right? Cause I am quite happy if you got those vibes, I loved that series :P But we didn't have it in mind when designing the game

gareld 2021-04-27 12:46

@nablaz Thanks for the nice comment :D Yea the music and sounds were made specifically for the jam by our friend MC Dürüm https://soundcloud.com/felix-gerling-178645875/popular-tracks

gareld 2021-04-27 12:49

@nalquas Thank you :v: Ah yes this is a known bug, that we might fix later.

panagiotis-iatrou 2021-04-27 13:15

Really nice! The delayed movement makes it challenging to time the movement

nabo369 2021-04-27 13:57

Interesting game! The game is a bit confusing in the beginning but it after a few tries I got how it worked. It is a fun idea executed pretty well!

attala 2021-04-27 19:03

Really like the art style. Combined with the soundtrack it is a very "moody" experience. I like the gameplay although I didn't know what to do in the start. Very good jam submission!

david-u 2021-04-28 15:08

An ambitious and fun game.

vsi 2021-04-28 15:10

like the graphs, really cool atmosphere, nice music,gj!

stroe-andrew 2021-04-28 15:22

The game is super interesting! I really love the idea and how you executed it. The atmosphere is really good, and also the art is top top. It really has the potential of becoming a really great mobile gaming tbh

flayff 2021-04-28 16:29

thanks again for the nice comments!

@stroe-andrew ye we have thought about that too. Controlling with phone tilt could be very fun and you could just tap on your phone to extend the needle. The only downsight: none of us likes mobile games :D

villanelle 2021-04-28 21:30

Liked how the physics work here, although I died several times to finally learn the best way to play this. So I would say it is maybe a little bit too challenging at the beginning with few instructions for the player... Also liked the graphics and general mood. Nice work.

flayff 2021-04-28 21:40

@villanelle Thanks and yes as we mentioned already, the tutorial sadly fell under the "we don't have enough time anymore" category.

For the instructions, please take a look at the description

acuriosity 2021-04-28 23:35

Great game, Visuals were right up my alley, beautiful and glowy in all the right places.

It took me a bit to grasp the concept of the game, that I am like a pogo hammer, and need to jump on the trampoline powered drill. At first I was trying to see how deep into space I could bounce myself, thought maybe the tiny ice balls? where collectables, tried to go for those, it was a tough shot. I became aware I was suppose to jump on the drill by accident, after I landed on it and the planet exploded.

I think some sort of health indicator(or catastrophic bounce loss indicator) would quickly reinforce the idea I dont want to jump on the land, because the sound it makes when I hit land sounds like I am doing damage to it, not me.

Overall very polished and cohesive visuals, very atmospheric. The progressive jump power particle indicators were a cool touch.

gareld 2021-04-29 06:56

@acuriosity thank you for your great feedback. And what a coincidence, your game was the first game i played on this gamejam :D

dwink 2021-04-30 01:28

Once I figured out what was going on (needle is for asteroids only, not planet, can't push the asteroids into the planet, etc...) I used the minimap (like a comment suggested), and wow! What a cool minimap - the way it was player referenced, and seeing all of the asteroids was super cool! Unfortunately I learned it's much more useful when you're far out than when you're in close.

tillbold 2021-04-30 14:50

Thanks a lot for all the nice comments and feedback!

@dwink "needle is for asteroids only, not planet, can’t push the asteroids into the planet" - We didnt have that in mind, but now as you mention it, I see, we realy need to make that clear :D Adapting the minimap depending on the current hight, is also a great idea! Your feedback realy helped. Thank you!

leggy 2021-05-03 14:50

Really nice graphic and music. Gameplay is maybe too caotic due to its speed. But the experience is indeed interesting! Nice submission

felo07 2021-05-17 18:44

wow, the graphics and sounds are AMAZING, the atmosphere its so enjoyable and chill. I just think the charater is too small, and maybe the S button to keep the charater more time on air! Great work, congrats!

chrisco 2021-05-17 19:00

The planets are stunning! Did you make them (model/textures)? Also the fire on the drill is awesome! I'ts a prticole system? I loved the minimap, it helped a lot! The game mechanics weren't immediately clear, but after a little while you understand them. The only small flaws is that the controls are not super responsive (also on the Windows build) and the background music becomes unbearable after a short time :D Congratulations on the first game jam, it was for me too and I made a space game too!

flayff 2021-05-17 19:39

Thanks alot for the compliments and feedback^^

@chrisco everything is completly from scratch self made, including all planets and textures. And yes we used the *Jingle Music" Unity Particle System.

The controls are on purpose not super responsive, though maybe we pushed that little too far. And we actually fixed the music bug :D but never uploaded a new build cause of laziness, sorry

flayff 2021-05-18 19:54

the rating phase is nearly over, so we wanted to send out a last *huge* thank you! to all of you guys.

It meaned alot to us, our first Game Jam entry had so much positive feedbacks and we will definitly learn through the negative feedback, for the next projects!

Hope you all had also a great experience, see ya all in the next jam!
