Hello, It asks for an access request when trying to download the game, can you make it public? Thanks!
your google drive is private
You should set that to public so that we can play the game. I would highly suggest to publish it on itch.io
Tell us when you open the link
In the presentation I see that our games are quite similiar on the approach of the theme, but i can't play you i have no permission on your download link fo windows... Message me if you edit that ! :D
Sorry, somehow me and Google drive don't agree on what shared means. It should be fixed now :D
it was a very good game, very moody and atmospheric, but the sensitivity was too high and i thought the red orbs were clues or pellets i could collect, hope you check my game too!
I played your game and it's really nice ! the atmosphere is great :D. I felt that the torchlight is too weak. Good job overall !
@lorwon The flashlight idea was not awfully well polished due to time constraints and my lack of skill, but glad you liked the game :)
Good idea behind the different sources of light and the effect it has on the enviro. I liked the mood too! Not too dark, really felt like a lost child who spent too much time playing with their friends, except... monsters, I thought they were fire camps first so i ran to them x) Maybe the monsters spawn too soon, doesn't give us the time to understand each item. Good job anyways! :)
Please upload this to itch.io or similar so I can play it!
wow we have about the same, fllly in broo
Nice game with really good atmosphere. In my opinion gameplay is a lot of fun.
Thanks for the comments everyone. I did some further tweaking so perhaps the game is a bit more playable now.
@daegonz Thanks for the feedback. I cleared it up a bit.
@rhoff95 I created Itch.io account, but the WebGL version can have some artifacts, so not sure if it's a good experience.
@arnold-990 Haha, nice!
@bubakgames Thanks :)
@corruptedcomputer Thanks for the feedback, I added the sensitivity slider.
The game looks really clean and I love the movement but I think it could be a little more atmospheric by tweaking the colors/lighting and maybe with more sound/music. I think the indication of the light from the flashlight is also not always clear.. Overall this is really great, I do really love the environment!
I love the art and sounds and gameplay!
The lighting from the flashlight is a little bit wonky I feel. It wasn't always clear if it's on or off (I was on webgl so maybe this was a factor). Maybe give some type of sound feedback for when it clicks on or off? Overall pretty decent job :). Also
I'm not sure if I'm really bad, but I seemed to be unable to reach certain waypoints? It felt like there was an invisible wall in front of me... then I died and I'm not sure why.
I loved the different effects on the various light sources though, that's a very nice touch!
@woahitsjeff No, it's me who is bad. We had very little time at the end to create the actual playable level and test it and one of the last things I made were about adding certain colliders, which I forgot to change to triggers only, so yeah, sorry about that :(
@woahitsjeff (and anyone else who cares) if you want to try to actually beat the game, I uploaded a fixed version to itch.io, but since the bugs were fixed after LDJam time frame, please don't take that version into account when grading the game :) https://awesomezebra.itch.io/into-the-forest-v12-non-ldjam-version
The mechanics with the different light sources are really well thought out. They might lack a little polish for sure but I can see a great little game here. The atmosphere was nice too. I kinda wish the monsters had some audio clues to them. For added ambience and for added orientation.
It's really nice game! And I like how you show a death 1.png
Reminded me a lot about "slender - the eight pages" and brought back some good old memories - thank you for that :)
I also walked into that invisible wall, but the part before that was good.
In general, the gameplay felt a bit unpolished: Those monsters just got to you from behind and you were dead, and I sometimes didn't know which direction to go as I could not differentiate between the next waypoint and the ones where I already were.
So maybe add a hint for when an enemy identifies and charges you? Add audio feedback (rising tension in music) or visual one (bloody screen or something similar) when an enemy is close to you. As GMTK put it once: Good enemy AI tells you what it is thinking.
Maybe the waypoints cou change color / disappear when you collide with them?
@damagefilter The sound is definitely the part we wish we had spent more time on. @azaliya Thanks :) @erik-brendel Very good points, I think I'll implement them later. I agree that the player should have easier ways of knowing where the threat is.
Atmosphere sooooo cool.
Nice game, not really related with the theme for me. I had to mute the sound was a bit annoying after some time but I think can be fixed easy. I did got scare by the red ball, I couldn't find my way home.
@juan-matias The idea was about going deeper in the forest. The trees get darker the further inside you go, but since the game doesn't work properly, you can't really see that unfortunately :(
Very good idea! Is there any music track? I hear only my steps, and think that it would be better to add some horror sounds :D
Cool game!
