Nice sprites, and very nice chiptune soundtrack!
The heart sprites are super cute! I also love the explosion animation. The level design could have used a bit more polish. I was happily surprised to see a boss at the end! I died though and couldn't get the cake in the end. 😭
Nice game, cute graphics and matching chiptune music. I felt a little lost because there was no indication where to go to. Also, some of the enemies just jumped at me, no chance to evade. Then after a while I reached the lower border of the map and got into level two - where I was instantly killed by some flying objects. Maybe some landmarks or a minimap showing where the goal is would be helpful. Otherwise I enjoyed it, fun game! Good work!
This is a fun game! The music is a jam to listen to and the controls are smooth. Having some indicator about how close I am to winning would be nice, since I cannot tell if it is endless or if I just gave up to early. Looks like its the latter based on the other comments!
The music was great, and it had a nice chocolatey theme too! I kept dying to the debris in level two the moment I spawned, I think I got into a bad position and got lost all my lives.
Fun game though and it plays very smoothly!
Love the retro art style, music, SFX & gameplay! Theme and mood are absolutely on point! but definitely a challenging game for my level of dexterity!
Sister needs to pick a new gift, Lava Cake zone is not messing around!
Fun game with a great soundtrack. One of those games where you can really get in the zone and go on a nice run and then suddenly a piece of chocolate destroys you 3 times in a row and you are gone. Yum.
enjoyed the boss level! nice job 🍫
After a first level where i didn't get hit once and didn't even worry about the ennemies, i didn't expect this second level that seemed incredibly hard hahaha
The art and music really blend well together to create this retro upbeat game ! I just thought the background felt really empty, but i'm kind of nitpicking here.
Overall it was a fun game ! Good job !
I loved the soundtrack, very nostalgic. challenging game
The music for this really reminds me of something like dizzy. The art and gaphics were wonderful. I thought the second level needed less randomness for the enemies as they would just come out of nowhere and destroy you without any ability to get away or dodge XD
Soundtrack was really good, it has charm to it. Gameplay was fun but i didnt reach the end. Great concept.
Great music, good challenging gameplay and chocolate!!
Nice visuals and soundtrack! It felt a little unfair when i'd collide with enemies in the first 2 stages, my reaction times must be terrible haha. I very much enjoyed the boss fight though, cool concept!
Nice work! Really hard game, took me a while to get used to it. I wish the collision boxes were smaller on the player, and it would be cool if you gave them a gun. Good job!
The chiptune soundtrack was really good. The art style is really good as well. I feel like maybe I'm missing something in the gameplay? Its really hard to dodge enemies and I can't get too far without dying.
I liked the idea and theme was fun. Final boss was super easy, but I like the concept a lot.
Cute visuals and soundtrack and also a nice interpretation of the theme. My major problem with the game was that I didn't feel like I had any agency on whether I got hit or not.
Pretty simple, but enjoyable. I like how you change up the enemy patterns in the second level, and I appreciate that you took the time to add a final boss. My only real gripe is how long the respawn time is; I thought I might have to reload the page at first because it was taking so long. That aside, this is a solid entry. Nice work!
Hello, your game is interesting. I like his arcade factor. The graphics are simple but good. I really liked the sound. The controls are very easy to learn and very functional. In general it is a simple game with a legal proposal. Congratulations.
The pixel art and retro music are very well done! However, the level design feels half-thought-out possibly because of the game mechanics clashing with the levels. Due to how slow you are and the game pausing every time you die, the game can feel a bit slow but it still works out fine! Maybe making it so when you get hit, you go into an invincibility state instead of just disappearing and stopping. It may just be me but I feel like the player hitbox is bigger than the sprite? While it would be great to have a dodge or something, perhaps some of the problems with not being able to see the enemy before it appears could be fixed by putting the player to the top third of the screen instead of it being centered. The final boss was super easy but at least I was able to get the chocolate! Fun game! Nice work!
Grafic style & soundtrak are neat. The controls are good & a joy to use.
there are two things that could be better:
- the collision might be more tight, it seems to me, that there are collision zones (quads?) that are a bit bigger as an enemy looks like.
- the widescreen is disadvantageous to the main movement direction, downward. IMHO a square view would be the best solution, it's a "struggle" I have with allmost all topdown games currently, because upward & downward movements became uneccesary obstacles.
I downloaded this game only because I had a deep love for chocolate, and I guess I wanted to implement it everywhere. Even now, I have a chocolate bar from https://chocolateandlove.com next to me. In general, this game is pretty addictive, so you have to control your time playing it, and iI can say that it's really entertaining.
